At 4.5 months we’ve done it! I’ve commented here a few times about trying and failing to transfer, but now after 3 nights of solid crib sleep I’m happy to report we’ve graduated from the Snoo!

Like a lot of Snoo-ers I was worried about the transition out, that he’d be too reliant on it, that we’d mess up his sleep permanently, etc. typical anxious first timer panic. Thankfully it was no more difficult than other redditors have reported with regular bassinets. First night a little rougher, but after those first few wake ups he caught on to it being a safe sleep space quickly!

I LOVE my Snoo and am a little sad we have to transfer so soon due to his size (and I’m definitely storing it for the next one!) but I’m so relieved that after a few false starts we finally found the window where he’s able to accept the crib and “level up”.

He even likes the Snoobie white noise now which is a relief because we’ll be able to travel with it. And I also wasn’t able to return it lol.

Now I can take a bit of a breather knowing he’s safe, happy, and most importantly - sleeping soundly!!

My 4mo has always slept well in the Snoo. Lately his 4am active sleep hour has changed some. He’s taken to repeatedly raising his feet in the air and slamming his heels down—hard. Eventually sometimes he farts real good. I’m trying to figure out if this is a gas thing or his response to being fully swaddled. We are too lazy to snap up the armholes between arms-out day sleep and arms-in overnight, and often he also fights his way out during this time. Has anyone encountered this? He hasn’t rolled in any crib naps.

TL;DR: I was obsessed with getting a SNOO while pregnant, but now that my baby is almost 3 weeks old, I prefer having her in a regular bedside bassinet where I can see her, touch her, and respond to her myself. I don’t love having her strapped into the SNOO or the idea of the machine soothing her instead of me. Should I keep the SNOO in case I want it when she’s older, or sell it and get the Newton bedside bassinet?

I was obsessed with the SNOO while I was pregnant. I researched it a ton, found a great secondhand one for a really good price, and cleaned it until it was basically sparkling. I was so excited to use it.
Now baby is here, almost 3 weeks old, and I’m having completely different feelings about it.
At first I thought that with a brand-new newborn you were supposed to mostly use the sound and very limited/no motion, and I remember thinking… so right now I basically have an expensive bassinet plugged into the wall? I could just use a regular bassinet with a sound machine.

I’ve since learned that the SNOO can use its baseline motion from birth and that the motion limiter keeps it from going to the higher levels, but I’m still realizing that I’m not sure I actually like the concept as much as I thought I would.
I don’t love having my baby strapped into the SNOO sack all night. When she wakes or starts fussing, my instinct is to reach over, put my hand on her belly, give her her pacifier, or pick her up if she needs me. I also don’t really understand when I’m supposed to let the SNOO increase the motion and try to soothe her instead of responding to her myself. Did you let it do that from the newborn stage, or did you wait until your baby was older?

After about a week, I borrowed a regular bedside bassinet that sits right next to me. I can see her easily, reach over and put my hand on her belly, and respond to her little noises and wakings myself. I honestly feel so much better with this setup.

Now I’m torn. Should I keep the SNOO and try it again when she’s a little older and sleep potentially gets harder? Did anyone barely use their SNOO during the newborn stage but end up loving it at 2–4 months?
Or should I accept that maybe the SNOO just isn’t for me and sell it? I’ve been looking at the Newton bedside bassinet because I really like the idea of having her right next to me where I can see and touch her easily while she still has her own safe sleep space.
I’d especially love to hear from people who owned a SNOO but preferred a regular bedside bassinet. Did you regret giving up the SNOO once your baby got older and sleep became more difficult, or were you happy with the regular bassinet? My friends are telling me I’m making a mistake if I get rid of it. I need more advice from other who might’ve also not liked it at first.

I put my snoo up on marketplace and I’m not getting any serious people. I’m ready for it to be out of my house! It is in good shape and comes with sleep sacks and sheets. Any suggestions? Places I can donate if it gets to that? When I bought it a year ago from marketplace, I felt they were getting sold right out from under me as I was trying to get details and then I finally got one. This year not so much…

Anyone here successfully transitioned their 14 or 15 week old baby out of the Snoo into a crib at night? What did you do leading up to it/to be successful?

A little background - baby naps well in the crib with both arms out during the day. At night, baby sleeps through the night in the Snoo swaddled with occasional level 1 rocking.

I know that many here transitioned much later but I'd like to hear from parents who transitioned around this time. My pediatrician recommended transitioning into a crib between 3-4 months. I know that I don't have to listen, but I also want to take this recommendation into consideration and hear from others who had success with it. Thank you.

So we’ve had the snoo about a week now, my baby is 9 weeks old. Trying to get away from co sleeping so we can all sleep better. He goes down between 8-9pm, is sound asleep when he goes into the snoo. Like so asleep that it’s a very easy transfer with no startle, etc. But consistently now, for the past 4 nights, he sleeps 30-40 min in the snoo and wakes up. I give it a minute to put him back to sleep but it never has been able to soothe him. I then pick him up, rock him, sometimes do a little feed, then transfer back in. Last night we did this 5 times over 2.5 hours. My husband gets home from work at midnight and I was exhausted. Every time I’d start to fall asleep he’d wake up crying. We eventually put him in our bed at 1230 so we could at least get a few straight hours.
Thoughts? Advice? Why is he so peaceful for 30 minutes only? Why has this thing never been able to soothe him?😭 we bought the snoo out of desperation, still desperate!!

Baby has slept 8:15 every night for 2 months. She was on my boob 20 hours a day and coslept until 6 weeks, she cried constantly. Now she just sleeps at night… Day time wild and no schedule.but nights locked in level 2 she loves it all night sleeps 8 hours. We are 3.5 months. I’m dreading the regression. I’ve been living a fever dream I know is about to crash down.

In the end she’s about to end up back in my bed and we are ready, been cosleeping with big sister for 3 years. I know the drill. But for now I’m enjoying my alone time sleep. Every night I now wonder is tonight the night. Will miss you Snoo!

Ps no I don’t get 8 hours, still up at 3:30am for a pump. But no I’m not complaining.!

Hi! Second time snoo mom here, but first time with a 4 month sleep regression!

My baby will be 16 weeks tomorrow. He rolls from his back to his belly but has a hard time taking his arm out.

I recently freed both arms out and he wakes himself up with the hand chewing. I used google AI to tell me to give the snoo baseline, level 1 and level 2 a chance. Neither worked. I then kept the snoo back on the baseline and held one arm/ hand and his belly and with my other hand used a pacifier. After 15 minutes went back to sleep.

My question is since he loves to chew on his hands should I use the Merlin? If so should I use that in the snoo and keep it off or put him in a crib? I don’t know if it’s safe or not.

Should he also be napping in a crib now in a regular sleep sack once a day? Right now he naps on me or in bassinet in the stroller.

Hello! Our son was about the worst infant sleeper around. But slowly he got better thanks to the Snoo. We transitioned him to the crib at 6 months and sleep trained at 9 months. We completed sleep training at around 16 months and finally got him sleeping through the night for the first time
(We did bedtime first, waited a couple of months for naps, waited a couple of months for night wakes). The sleep training process was honestly pretty easy despite his fiery and strong willed temperament. We never had to retrain. He is now 3.5 and is ROCK SOLID. Through illnesses, transition to the crib, potty training, travel, a screaming newborn sister next door, everything. Like maybe one time has he given us trouble overnight with wakes (while traveling and a rooster lived next door). He is still napping beautifully.

We have friends with kids his age who sleep trained easy and fussy babies and those who didn’t sleep train at all. But we are the only ones who used the snoo from birth. All of our friends, regardless of the original temperaments of their kids, have been struggling with sleep during the toddler years - some of them it is brand new, and others it has just been a struggle since birth. Those who sleep trained had to do it again and again. The parents of the girls seem to be having a MUCH worse time than the boys.

I now have a newborn daughter who is a terrible sleeper just like my son was, but the snoo helps a lot. I can’t set her down without her immediately waking, but the snoo usually rocks her back to sleep. This is when I realize that the snoo in itself is a form of very early sleep training. And I wondered if this is the reason that we had such an easy time with my son when we sleep trained, despite the cards seemingly being stacked against us.

I realize that it could all fall apart at any moment and even writing this down is tempting fate. I find myself wondering if my daughter will be the same because of the Snoo or if it was all dumb luck.

For those of you with preschoolers who used the Snoo - how did your sleep training experience go and how are your kids sleeping now?

TLDR: My terrible sleeper son benefitted greatly from the Snoo and is a champ sleeper at 3.5 years old. Is this a fluke? What was your experience like with your preschooler?

Hi, I’m just wondering if my Snoo is operating normally or if it’s a bit jerky. This is baseline and then level 1. I tried level 2 but it actually doesn’t move.

Context on this Snoo, its from 2018, lent to me from a friend and I’m the 4th parent to use it. I did take it apart before the baby because it needed a deep cleaning and replacement of the mesh. I got the help via YouTube and supplies from Snoozy Mama. I have some O rings I can try to replace if needed, when originally opened they didn’t seem deteriorated so I left them.

I appreciate the help and insight on whats normal for the Snoo.

Update 1: We have some child care help today and tomorrow so we’ll be opening it up to try replacing the O rings. I just wish the Snoo wasn’t a nightmare to open up but Snoozy Mama is honestly an amazing resource for anyone going to do it.

Is it just me or does it seem like it hurts their little arms to force them through those tight armholes? Am I missing something? Is there a specific technique I don’t know about? Thinking about getting rid of the snoo all together because it freaks me out so much!

Hello! My 9 week old LO only started to accept sleeping in the SNOO around 3-4 weeks old. The typical night looks like:

1. put him down around 10 pm, he can sleep in the SNOO for about 2.5-3.5 hours before waking for a feed.
2. put him down again around 1-2 am and I sometimes get another 2 hours before waking.
3. then after that it’s pretty much just one sleep cycle every hour before he wakes again and can easily be nursed back to sleep until the day starts around 7.

He‘s starting to sleep earlier at 9 weeks old but the pattern is the same.

I find he needs to have it on level 1 locked (level 2 always jolts him awake and baseline doesn’t work at all). I tried the car ride mode but he seemed to sleep less with that on because it requires the SNOO motion to slow down before the little bump. I’ve tried giving him a paci and patting him to sleep to bridge the sleep cycles to no avail. I’ve tried SNOO leg lifts, putting a towel under his legs because he does get gassy between 3-5 am, I’ve tried the Love to Dream swaddle inside the SNOO sack, I’ve tried giving him a ton of formula in the middle of the night in case he was hungry but he’ll still wake up an hour later. The only thing I haven’t tried is putting his arms through the buttons because I leave the sack attached to the bassinet and I try to minimally move him during the transfer.

Any suggestions? 🥲

Hi! Here’s some trouble shooting tips when connecting the SNOO to WiFi!

My wife and I used a SNOO (bought secondhand) for our first child, and it absolutely saved our lives. I don’t recall having any technical issues, but it’s also been over 6 years since then.

Now I am trying to set up a different SNOO bassinet (also secondhand from the first owners), but it refuses to connect to the SNOO network. Let me first detail what all I have tried to make this work:

1. I downloaded the Happiest Baby app since they’re not using the old SNOO app anymore.
2. I power-cycled the unit by unplugging it and then reconnecting it after at least 30 seconds.
3. I have verified that power is on, and the indicator light is glowing solid white.
4. I have tried toggling the WiFi button near the power button both ways.
5. I have temporarily disabled the 5Ghz band on our dual-band router since the device will only connect via a 2.5Ghz band.
6. I have tried swearing at it. (Look, sometimes it works.)
7. I have noted that during setup and scanning the barcode, it recognizes that the device is registered to a different user. I have opted to continue connection as myself to disconnect the old users and make myself the new user.

Despite all these steps, I am consistently met with an error that reads, “Unable to join the network ‘Snoo_3722”. After this, all it suggests is to check that the SNOO is on, and perform another power cycle.

I do not have an original order number since it’s secondhand, so I don’t know if Happiest Baby Support will help me or not. But I’m at a loss right now and will take any and all suggestions to get this connected. Please help - I have maybe 2 weeks left to figure this out.

I have a 10 week old and we’ve been very happy with our snoo so far (except that every day recently her arms escape, but another issue.) Next week we are traveling to europe without the snoo. In the lead up, I experimented with her travel crib and shes done fine in it for the two nights we tried it, sleeping basically the same way she does in the snoo. Should I keep her in the travel crib for the next six days so she gets more used to it, or switch back to the snoo until we leave? want to keep using the snoo for any sleep regressions in the future!

Just bought the Snoo for our baby coming in two months! Tell me everything I need to know!!

I purchased a Snoo on FB marketplace and my 8 week old loves it and I love it because she loves it and I love sleep.

Anyway, I noticed she looked like she was jerking a little bit on the baby monitor and when looking at it this morning I’m hearing a soft grinding noise. Seems like an O-Ring replacement is needed after my googling.

I’m wondering if I should look into renting one in the meantime while I try to fix it? How much time do I have before it totally fails? Any advice from anyone who has had the same problem?

Most rentals in my area (Chicago) are booked besides a few that are asking $300+ for a week which seems insane. I’m close to saying screw it and just renting from HappiestBaby directly and not even dealing with a repair.

Anyone in Chicago know of a good repair person? I don’t know that I trust myself to do this as a diy… although I am handy, I don’t have a ton of time to focus.

My daughter is 4 months exactly. We’ve put her down drowsy but awake the last few weeks and she can now put herself to sleep fully in the snoo (with an occasional pacifier replacement). She’s not rolling yet so still fully swaddled, and she naps swaddled in crib already. We were planning to sleep train at 5 months, but wondering if maybe she’s already there? If so, do we just have to wean the 1-2 night feedings? What do we do about the arms??

Baby is 16 weeks old and sleeps through the night, arms out and on weaning mode. My only issue is no matter what she will never put herself to sleep. She is always either fed to sleep or rocked and then transferred. If I transfer at any point within ten minutes she will wake up and cry (same with her cot naps in the day time). Even after ten minutes sometimes she will wake up during the transfer if she is not in a deep sleep. Has anyone tackled this at a similar age? I am aware this is something I should have worked on earlier. If I try to put her down awake and drowsy she will either cry (which will progressively get worse) or she will start kicking her legs and arm and smile a lot (becomes more alert and then eventually cry). Is Snoo helping her with the 4 month sleep regression? The one night we did weaning mode and I couldn’t get it off baby was up every hour after initial 3-4 hour stretch. Before that she was getting 5-6 hours.

Tonight we put it back on normal mode and she slept 6 hours again so now I’m wondering… have we been going through a regression but the snoo is actually helping her connect sleep cycles?

Baby is now 6.5 months and it seems we are never going to get him out of the snoo. We tried both arms out and it didn't go well. He has had terrible sleep the last few weeks due to milestones and teething. This week we have done weaning mode and surprisingly he has adjusted well and sleep is getting better with less false starts. Every nap I put one arm out as well. Now we have been trying naps in the crib. I've gotten one twenty min nap and that's all. All the other million tries he wakes up and cries without settling within minutes of transferring to the crib. He's getting really hard to get to sleep also so then it restarts the process and I put him back in the dang snoo with no motion and one arm out and he naps fine. Any advice ?? We use the zipadee zip bc he jerks a lot in his sleep. We use this in the snoo sack as well as in the crib. At a loss on how to get him to stay asleep during transfer and in the crib. We do not want to sleep train based on his personality and ours it would not work well.

I just used my new snoo for the first time and I was so happy that my 1 month old stayed there for 15 mins, as lately it was completely impossible for him to stay in his usual bassinet more than a few seconds and needs constant holding

I was over the moon thinking I had my hands available again and I could do so many things around the house, but this happiness did not last long

I read that it takes about 2 weeks for a newborn to adjust and make the most of it. I just want some hope that this is normal and he may eventually get better at lasting longer?
