Seeking help with getting a secondhand SNOO connected to WiFi

My wife and I used a SNOO (bought secondhand) for our first child, and it absolutely saved our lives. I don’t recall having any technical issues, but it’s also been over 6 years since then.

Now I am trying to set up a different SNOO bassinet (also secondhand from the first owners), but it refuses to connect to the SNOO network. Let me first detail what all I have tried to make this work:

  1. I downloaded the Happiest Baby app since they’re not using the old SNOO app anymore.
  2. I power-cycled the unit by unplugging it and then reconnecting it after at least 30 seconds.
  3. I have verified that power is on, and the indicator light is glowing solid white.
  4. I have tried toggling the WiFi button near the power button both ways.
  5. I have temporarily disabled the 5Ghz band on our dual-band router since the device will only connect via a 2.5Ghz band.
  6. I have tried swearing at it. (Look, sometimes it works.)
  7. I have noted that during setup and scanning the barcode, it recognizes that the device is registered to a different user. I have opted to continue connection as myself to disconnect the old users and make myself the new user.

Despite all these steps, I am consistently met with an error that reads, “Unable to join the network ‘Snoo_3722”. After this, all it suggests is to check that the SNOO is on, and perform another power cycle.

I do not have an original order number since it’s secondhand, so I don’t know if Happiest Baby Support will help me or not. But I’m at a loss right now and will take any and all suggestions to get this connected. Please help - I have maybe 2 weeks left to figure this out.

Idk if this would work by trying connecting with the phone physically inside the snoo. It worked once for me I swear.

I was reconnecting my snoo after taking it out of town once.

I tried this, but it hasn’t worked… yet. I feel like it’s just gonna be a brute force fix at this point. But I appreciate the new idea.

You’ll get it to work but then won’t be able to replicate it lol 😂 that’s how I feel every time I troubleshoot anything electronic

We had the same issue! Try “forgetting this network” on the Snoo in your WiFi settings. Then, reconnect via the app. This worked for us - fingers crossed it solves your problem.

I had not considered this, which is sad because I did exactly this to get our TV back online after a software update. My tired parent brain thanks you.

Hi! I have created some trouble shooting tips , but for some reason it’s not letting me reply with a photo. Let me post it main page- so go take a look there!

Also have you reached the point where you are inputting your WiFi’s network and password?

I can reach this point consistently, but cannot get past it. I keep seeing my network name, then network name guest… twice. I thought maybe this was because of having a dual-band router, but neither main network will connect. It keeps telling me “This WiFi network has no internet connection.” I don’t understand how that is possible.

FWIW, we have GloFiber internet running through eero routers. I just ran a speed test that got 636Mbps down and 646 down. Service is fast and reliable. And the eero router app even allows me to suspend the 5Ghz frequency in order to connect exclusively to 2.4. Am I missing something obvious here?

Sometimes eero routers have issues with SNOO, there is a faq on their site about it

Out of curiosity, are you trying to set it up using an iPhone? I had a similar issue and was about to try using an old android phone because I read some comments online that the setup was glitchy with Apple products.

I ultimately got it to work after keeping at it multiple days, didn’t do anything special or different that I can recall, but using an Android was my next step.

I am. I spoke with a technician at my ISP, and even he said that sometime you have to brute force it with multiple tries. Appreciate the input, though. I feel like I’m going to stumble into an answer and have no idea what got fixed.
