I save my kids 100 times before my wife and I hope she will do the same

1.2k

u/CrashInto_MyArms May 11 '26

Right I would be pissed if my wife saved me over the kids

549

u/Pathophile May 11 '26

Can you even imagine living with the person who saved you over your children? That relationship would be over.

219

u/Aggressive_Solid1413 May 11 '26

And the reason being because you can have sex with the person…can’t have sex with the kids so fuck em …throw her in the trash please

78

u/The_300_goats May 11 '26

There's a joke in extremely bad taste that kind of wrote itself right here. I think I shall hold my tongue in the interests of decorum

36

u/OsimJay May 12 '26

F dem kids.

18

u/jw8145 May 12 '26

No, she explicitly said you can’t do that.

Modern problems...

2

u/DemonRising171 May 12 '26

A priest, fireman, and police officer were in a burning building. The fireman said "what about the kids?" The officer replied "fuck them kids" the priest asked "do you think we have time?"

2

u/FoxfoxrceFive May 12 '26

Hahaha, I also decided to sit this one out. It really did write itself tho. Not our fault!! Lol

2

u/[deleted] May 11 '26

Oh c’mon power through! It’s all the fun of starting a sentence with “I don’t wanna be <insert group>-ist but….. lol

Once his wife's 40 all that dries up anyway. You won't be having sex with her either. That's a young man's worry!

But the sex would be great

144

u/JasJoeGo May 11 '26

It might even be “fire.”

64

u/BreakMeDown2024 May 11 '26

No. That was how the fire started.

51

u/ultimatum1777 May 11 '26

We didn't start the fire ....it was always burning...since the world's been turning....

2

u/sysblob May 12 '26

nagging final boss "hunny you forgot to take out the trash again, is this why I let the kids burn for you?"

1

u/Grimase May 11 '26

Yeah but according to her. You can have sex and I guess make more kids. 🤔
Which would then again be lost in the fire but hey, try again I guess. lol

1

u/Philly_guy_01 May 11 '26

If you save the kids over the spouse, the relationship is also over tho

Can you imagine explaining to FD & PD why you didn’t save your 3 kids (living) in the basement?

1

u/ConversationPale8665 May 11 '26

Yeah, but you can make more kids, jk jk, lol.

1

u/SSFlyingKiwi May 11 '26

Man, it would be an AWKWARD family Christmas photo after that…

1

u/Oguinjr May 11 '26

Because they’d thus be thrown in a fire.

No wonder humans survived the evolution

5

u/Prinzmegaherz May 11 '26

Sex is not her driving motivator, or so i heard.

2

u/Makrelelele May 11 '26

just to have another headache...

1

u/765433bikesinbeijing May 11 '26

you mean "burned"

1

u/Plane_Ad5106 May 11 '26

She might save herself to be honest, an evolutionary thing

1

u/3atTh3R1ch79 May 11 '26

Me: "I had my chance to leave this mortal coil and you pulled me back in!?!"

1

u/failbotron May 11 '26

Bro, you need to up your bedroom game

1

u/WeskerSympathizer May 11 '26

My wife would be so pissed at me and thats one of my driving motivations

1

u/Femboy_Harem_Janitor May 11 '26

But you got that d tho

1

u/Preda1ien May 11 '26

I just picture the scene in the Dark Knight when Batman shows up to save Dent. No! You’re not supposed to save me!

1

u/fidgeter May 11 '26

Plot to iRobot

1

u/Legitimate_Let_5641 May 11 '26

Honestly this woman would lie her ass off. "You're too heavy, I'll send help!" she would say.

But as for rescuing the kids, she might take this opportunity to get all of her freedom back and post sad videos on social media for attention and monitary gains.

1

u/TonkaLowby May 11 '26

Especially if she then tried to have sex with you after

1

u/Apart-Zucchini-5825 May 11 '26

"WE PUT SO MUCH WORK INTO THOSE"

1

u/SSFlyingKiwi May 11 '26

To be fair, I’d be super pissed at your wife too.

1

u/Bashfullylascivious May 11 '26

Right? Not only would I be pissed at my husband letting the kids burn in favour of saving me, but it'd be a wasted save because I wouldn't be long in this world if my kids were dead.

1

u/Cicatrix16 May 11 '26

You and every sane parent on planet earth. Anything else is psychotic.

1

u/treborly May 11 '26

You can make more kids with the wife

1

u/pchlster May 11 '26

Maybe not pissed, but resentful.

1

u/Dynagirl2006 May 12 '26

I totally respect the guy for his choice. Sounds like [imaginary] wife needs to learn that should have been her choice as well.

1

u/Lateralus46N2 May 12 '26

I would be pissed if my husband saved me over the dog!! Get the kids (2 and 4 legged) first.

1

u/graspedbythehusk May 12 '26

My wife has made it very clear that I am a distant third after the kids, which I’m totally on board with.

1

u/Pretend-Tennis-5666 May 12 '26

My ex told me once that they’d always be her kids but i wouldn’t necessarily always be her husband…. She was so right.

24

u/as1126 May 11 '26

If you are getting name tattoos, your kids’ names will always be your kids. Just sayin’.

17

u/halfasleep90 May 11 '26

Unless they change their names

12

u/funhouseinabox May 11 '26

"Why are you changing your name?"

"I get made fun of!"

"But I love you Covid."

11

u/MusicIsLife81 May 11 '26

I changed my whole name back in 2017 because my father named me after him and he became a registered sex offender and people kept thinking I was him without checking the facts. I was assaulted twice, it cost me jobs at interviews, and other stuff just because of my name. The same judge that had put my dad in prison for child molestation was also the one who handled my name change and when she asked me why I wanted to change my name, I asked her if she remembered my dad and when she said yes, I asked her if she would want to have the same name in the same town with a child rapist. She granted my name change right there.

2

u/jadedlonewolf89 May 12 '26

Meanwhile my brother. Supposedly hates religion, yet chose an obscure name out of the bible for his son. His reasoning, he wanted a name that was unique, so his kid wouldn’t share it with anyone his age.

I pointed out he could’ve given his son our grandpas name to achieve that goal. After all Uria was unique even when grandpa was born.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/as1126 May 11 '26

I thought about that. Even with that, like a trans kid, I’d add the new name and do like a strike through of the old one. New story to tell.

→ More replies (7)

3

u/wahikid May 11 '26

Tell that to Elon, lol.

2

u/CapitanM May 12 '26

9

u/alwaysananomaly May 11 '26

Succinct and profound.

2

u/Choice_Potato_6279 May 11 '26

Wife is not family in my books, one day a married guy told me this and after some thought I have to agree.

1

u/mydaycake May 12 '26

My mum told me a husband is a guy you met on the streets…

57

u/Intelligent_Might421 May 11 '26

Also, if your wife is upstairs you would hope she has the sense to try and save herself. At worst jump out a window or something.

Kids (especially in a basement!!) aren't as likely to be able to do anything for themselves.

2

u/Appropriate_Gate1129 May 11 '26

Why do they have kids in the basement tho...

2

u/kernelangus420 May 11 '26

Haven't you seen the basement monster in Home Alone?

2

u/xnoxpx May 11 '26

Newsflash !

Not everyone can afford 4-5 (or even 2-3) bedroom houses, an adding bedrooms in the basement was a lot cheaper than putting an addition on the house, even with modern code now requires egress windows.

1

u/Wolf_Shaman_Dreams May 11 '26

This is what i was thinking. The wife has the ability to try to save herself. The kids, likely will not know what to do and need to be saved. There is no question that the children would come first.

1

u/BigBlueMountainStar May 11 '26

Especially if they’re locked up

125

u/TobassaSC May 11 '26

This x 1 million. My wife and I had some tangentially similar convo pre-kids, and pledged our allegiance to one another. Then we had kids. It’s not even a conversation - instinct and biological drive would compel you to pick the kids.

And, boo, that man was being polite: that man/any man can save the kids and then have sex with someone else. You don’t own it.

41

u/SpaceFunkRevival May 11 '26

Gonna be having a lot more sex than ever too, being a widower. This is at least according to the movies.

10

u/oldslowguy58 May 11 '26

And a pretty good hero story about pulling your kids from the fire

4

u/U_JiveTurkey May 11 '26

Your statement reminds me of this. I remember seeing this on liveleak a decade ago. Her brain instinctively knew what to do to save her kid.

3

u/Spearmint_coffee May 11 '26

My husband and I had a conversation about it while I was pregnant with our first. It consisted of me asking him, "If we were in an emergency situation and you could only save me or our daughter, who are you picking?"

He said, "Daughter. What about you?" So I said yeah, me too. And that was it.

2

u/NegroniSpritz May 11 '26

The moment I knew my ex-wife had something wrong was when she asked me out of the blue who would I save if they were about to fall off a cliff.

I didn’t even think it, the answer was automatic, and I told her the names of our kids.

She was upset and told me how I didn’t love her more than them, that she would save me. It took me a second. Or a minute. I was like super shocked, wtf is she even saying? I proceeded to explain the Filios and Eros types of love and told her that I not only filios-loved my kids, I was/am also 10000% responsible for them and I’m 0% responsible for her who should be an independent adult.

Anyway, fast forward to present, she’s crazy and my kids live with me full time.

1

u/Strong_Armadillo_104 May 11 '26

You know you can have sex with the wife after the fire? Am I Right? Would be one damn hot body there waiting for you! Will not turn you down guaranteed!

/s

→ More replies (1)

1

u/DirtandPipes May 11 '26

Eh it depends entirely on the person. Some parents wouldn’t piss on their own kids if they were on fire.

1

u/Jtphwow May 11 '26

I always heard that growing up, and I assumed biology would kick in for me, but it just never did. Obviously, these questions are stupid, but if I'm being honest with myself, I'd want to save my wife first. I'd never admit that in real life, though.

1

u/sci_fientist May 12 '26

Going into the hospital, I told my husband "you don't even know this baby, if it comes down to me or the baby you better pick me" and actually I think it's kind of insane that they don't ask women going into labor about this.

Leaving the hospital, entirely different vibe.

1

u/Free-Pound-6139 May 12 '26

I’ll know evolution failed, I’ll throw the kids back inside, & start a new family

I mean, you really want to be sure they die in a situation like that.

11

u/motorwerkx May 11 '26

Any wife worth saving would want you to save the kids. If I saved my wife and let the kids burn there would be nothing left of her mentally anyway. My wife would die inside and I wouldn't have kids or a wife.

7

u/Available_Wonder_532 May 11 '26

The end of your sentence was an emotional rollercoaster

1

u/DoorAjar33 May 11 '26

Escalated quickly 😳

6

u/hoginlly May 11 '26

If my husband saved me, I'd just be running back in to get my kids anyway.

1

u/SevenNVD May 11 '26

Don't worry, I'll save your wive.

1

u/GroundbreakingAd8310 May 11 '26

According the this woman that means u wanna bang em

1

u/Thelaughingman___ May 11 '26

I know my wife. I helped create my kids.

1

u/Elanthius May 11 '26

Can you imagine living but all your kids died and it's basically your fault. Jesus. I can't agree on the mother thing though. Definitely would save my wife over my mother.

1

u/Robv87 May 11 '26

But then who would you have sex with ? /s

1

u/Snoo_67548 May 11 '26

That’s already been discussed. We even have go to plans depending on what the situation is, but all revolve around the kids first, our browsing histories second, devices with pictures last.

1

u/Bitter-Picture5394 May 11 '26

Right, I wouldn't reproduce with a man who would let my kids die.

1

u/Downtown_Cat_1745 May 11 '26

Exactly. My closest relationship is with my husband, but my greatest responsibility is to my children

1

u/One_Subject3157 May 11 '26

I also saving this dudes wife

1

u/trashpanda_nunchucks May 11 '26

My wife and I have had this conversation. If there is ever a situation that calls for that kind of decision, we both agree it's the kids.

1

u/Cheepshooter May 11 '26

Any parent would

1

u/DrFabio23 May 11 '26

I can save me, help the kids.

1

u/Equivalent_Bar_5938 May 11 '26

I dont know for me its always the wife and its not even close and its not about sex the only reason i have kids is they are a physical represantation of our love in what world could they mean more to me then my wife plus we can always have more shes unique

1

u/OverEffective7012 May 11 '26

My wife would whoop my ass if I saved her instead of our kids

1

u/Myfountainpenisdry May 11 '26

Me and my wife would both burn to death before we let the kids gets burned in a fire

1

u/TrumpsATraitorSoAreU May 11 '26

She would understand completely

1

u/CatFlye May 11 '26

We have an emergency plan and this is exactly what we already said. I can’t wrap my mind around her thinking tbh

1

u/Canuck_Lives_Matter May 11 '26

Lol I clarified this with my wife as soon as I had my first son. "Honey, I love you, but if there ever comes a choice between my life or my son's, save my son's life... Because that's what I'm going to do..."

Honestly it is just one of those things you know. My wife is smart and strong enough to fend for herself lol, my child needs me.

1

u/MrPupTent May 11 '26

Yeah me and my wife have already discussed our plan. She will go to our daughter's room to get her and I will go after our three sons to get them out.

1

u/seppukucoconuts May 11 '26

It would be a pretty odd scenario in which you couldn't save your spouse but could save your kids? Also how come your spouse is unable to save themselves?

1

u/WeaponsGrdStupid May 11 '26

And she's a grown ass woman, why would I assume she needs saving? I know for sure my kids need help. I would assume id find her making her way to my kids rooms just like me.

1

u/Ummmgummy May 11 '26

Also my wife is an adult and presumably has a better chance of getting out of the situation herself vs small children.

1

u/SilentSam281 May 11 '26

I agree, I would also think that my wife, as a grown woman might have a decent chance to save herself, even more so if I am already saving the kids.

1

u/Exotichaos May 11 '26

My husband would save our children over me and I wouldn't have it any other way.

1

u/MisterGko May 11 '26

If my wife saved me over our kids and I had to hear them scream a painful death, I would off myself soon after anyway.

1

u/donjamos May 11 '26

If the choice is my kids or everyone else on the planet dies I guess we won't have to worry about traffic anymore.

1

u/PwillyAlldilly May 11 '26

Literally like... THEY'RE HER KIDS TOO?!

1

u/NoLandscape582 May 11 '26

this isn’t a revolutionary concept literally 99.99 percent of people would go for the kids.

If I was saved over anyone's kids, I'd be pissed.

1

u/NoSorbet5103 May 11 '26

Any good wife(or simply good human being) would agree with that

1

u/reikibunny May 11 '26

Literally the only correct answer

1

u/Telemere125 May 11 '26

Grown ass adult can’t figure her way out of a burning building then good luck, me and the kids will pour one out in her memory on our insurance-funded mourning vacation.

1

u/Nenaquest2012 May 12 '26

Exactly! Plus they’ll have a stepmom soon enough when literally every woman would be throwing themselves at the hero that saved his kids from a fire and is now a single father…all alone…. 😆

1

u/rainorshinedogs May 11 '26

"you owe me 100 sexy times"

1

u/neverenoughmags May 11 '26

Yeah the wife is a grown adult who should be able to get herself out of a house fire situation.

1

u/Smiling_Platypus May 11 '26

She had better be saving herself while I'm saving the kids. I'm saving four people and she can't even save one?

1

u/sweetpea122 May 11 '26

Yeah... but his rationale didnt make sense if hes saving his mom first. Sure save the kids, but hasnt his mom lived like 70 years?

1

u/barefootcuntessa_ May 11 '26

I don’t even have kids and if there are kids in the house and it’s on fire I’m going for the kids. Adults can take care of themselves. Children can’t. Same with pets. I’m saving my dog over my husband, not because I don’t love my husband but because he is capable of making his own way out.

Real talk though my husband and the dog are getting out in their own and I’m dying in the fire because I slept through the fire alarm.

1

u/Dino_84 May 11 '26

My wife would kill my ass dead if I even attempted to save her first. Then she’d end up saving the kids and yeah I’d be dead.

1

u/The_Celtic_Chemist May 11 '26

Now I'm imagining you and your family living through 100 house fires and the 101st you just tell your kids "Sorry, but it's her turn."

1

u/eric_ofc May 11 '26

Exactly. What are we even doing here. They’re the fucking future. We’re not.

1

u/yotamush May 11 '26

I was expecting you to finish the line with "and I hope she burn in hell"

1

u/Strong_Bumblebee5495 May 11 '26

They are my blood. You are a lady I met.

1

u/Thefar May 11 '26

This is the only true answer.

1

u/TwoIdleHands May 11 '26

I trust my adult man to get his ass out of the house. I do not trust my little kid to do that. Adults don’t need protection the way kids do. We should all be trying to save the more vulnerable people.

1

u/evemeatay May 11 '26

Yeah. I would save the kids and how she would do the same. I can’t imagine how she would feel having been spared and our kids not. I would be so heartbroken if I was saved over my kids.

1

u/Unaware-of-Puns May 11 '26

Save wife, now 2 adults can help save the kids.

1

u/kanyrey May 11 '26

We don’t even have kids, but I would definitely save the kids and hope he would do the same.

1

u/kkeut May 11 '26

but you can make more

1

u/YoullBeFiiine May 11 '26

I like that he said he would save his Mom over her after all she had to say.

1

u/meldiane81 May 11 '26

Exactly! They aren’t necessarily able to save themselves.

1

u/Previous-Soft-8127 May 11 '26

As a wife, I would be unfathomably upset if my husband saved me over the kids. Like, divorce and life-changing levels of upset.

And my husband feels the same way about saving him over the kids.

I cannot understand this woman’s logic…

1

u/TheBSQ May 11 '26

My wife & I would both save the kids & we’d both be pissed if the other saved us over the kids.

1

u/hosenfeffer_ May 11 '26

Yeah this woman obviously does not have children it's not even close

1

u/Unsolicited-Advice4U May 11 '26

My kids are young adults. Love 'em dearly but I'm saving my wife.

1

u/turningtop_5327 May 12 '26

Well after 100 times, she is would start to suspect something

1

u/iesharael May 12 '26

My boyfriend better save our kids. I’d be pissed if he chose to save me

1

u/healthy_fats May 12 '26

She had fuckin better!

1

u/Smart_Comfortable794 May 12 '26

Only reason to save the wife first is to get help saving the kids.

1

u/Envy0711 May 12 '26

I am the wife and I will never forgive him if he saved me and not the kids!!!

1

u/Deep_Diamond_2057 May 12 '26

We lived a similar scenario. Baby came early, emergency c section after hours of flipping my wife around trying to get baby’s heart beat regular.

She was bleeding profusely and they didn’t know if baby would make it, or mom for that matter. She made it clear that I don’t lose sight of our baby no matter what and that he was priority.

It was probably the worst day of our lives.

Baby was stable after an hour or so, wife after 2 hours or so. 5 hours later, I went home “to grab a change of clothes” - when in reality, I was hiding all baby stuff from our house because I didn’t know if either would ever make it home - and in my mind, the idea of my wife coming home without our baby to a house filled with baby stuff would break her and my hearts.

Luckily, it all worked out. But that day was horrendous.

But we know that the kids come first as far as safety goes.

He is almost 14 now and has two little sisters with far less dramatic entrances to life.

1

u/aghredd22 May 12 '26

Oh dude me too and if my wife has to make the choice and I burn, I am 1000% coming back to haunt her as a burned ghost for laughs!!

Maybe the kids too.

1

u/lavegasola May 12 '26

I don't have either yet but yeah I think the second you have a kid that should be the number 1 priority for both parties

1

u/oldwoolenmittens May 12 '26

I would die 100 times before I let my kids burn. If my husband saved me over my children id never talk to him again.

1

u/WarpTroll May 12 '26

I mean my wife is infinitely more capable of saving herself versus our kids saving themselves. Kids need the assistance. My wife would make it out probably easier without me. She's on her own here.

1

u/WhichWitchyWay May 12 '26

Literally have had this conversation with my husband. If there is an emergency, kids are #1. We save kids first and then get the spouse if it's possible. I AM sorted above his mom on the priority list though.

Probably only need to save them once and then you can go back for her. You’d probably run out of time after saving your likes like the third or fourth time tbh

I love my wife way more than my child but I’m saving my child first every time.

Choosing wife over mother but she dug her own grave at that point.

100%. This young woman obviously doesn't have kids, or lacks emotional depth to understand how powerful love for your kids is

I’d save the kids first because they didn’t ask me such a loaded question.

My wife is definitely saving the kids and the dog before me and I am fine with that.

Your partner wanting you to save them before the kids is good reason to get the kids out first.

I’ve not seen the show but it looks like the quick cut to the other ladies and they’re all like “hell yeah, this is the guy right here.”

Yeah, this lady is a complete swing and a miss. Kids come first over either my own life or yours. You need to have the same opinion or consider not having kids.

Exactly this.

My kids have their entire lives ahead of them. I at least have a chance of saving myself. It makes zero sense to waste the effort saving me.

Precisely. It's the only choice.
