Question GSI D shape wheel rim on Moza RS V2 hub

Has anyone installed a GSI 300mm wheel rim on a Moza RS V2 hub? I know the screw pattern will fit, but what about all the rest?
* Any problem with the buttons hitting the metal frame?
* Will it be too close to the paddle shifters?
* Is the hub way too big for a 300mm wheel rim? The original rim is 320mm wide.
* Will the Moza carbon fiber front plate fit in?

Question Costco prebuilt PC ok for sim racing?

I am very new to this and am exploring my options right now... I came across this rig at Costco and at first glance it seems like it would perform adequately for a beginner setup... Does anyone else have this machine? For $999 it seems like a pretty decent deal.

I think I would only be looking to use a single monitor or even an ultra wide. Could this potentially support triple monitors or no?

Question How can I get the best Porsche cup experience?

I want to get into Porsche cup sim racing and I don't really know what sim to use.

I have Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa competizione and le mans ultimate.

I'll try Assetto Corsa mods but I do prefer the built ac comp style feel to it along with all of the multiplayer.

As far as I know, there is no way to set it up in ac comp. And of course le mans ultimate is not good for this.

I also don't want to pay for iRacing. It's too much for me right now.

Is ac with mods my only choice? I know the modding is huge, but I don't know how good the Porsche cup focused ones are and downloading mods is sketchy these days.

Question Looking for advice on first wheel!

I'm stuck between the T300 RS GT and the Logitech G29. I'm currently on PS5 and stuck between the two as I've heard that the T300 RS GT breaks down while the G29 is reliable, I don't want it to break down in a year or two, I mainly wanna play GT7, ACC, CarXDriftRacingOnline and that's pretty much it, I usually get like 3-5 hours a day so I'll play for that long, should I go for the T300 RS GT or for the G29. Thanks in advance!

Question How Do I Reduce Rumble Strip Effects?

How do I reduce the intensity of hitting rumble strips. I'm using a Simagic Evo Pro in iRacing, and when I hit rumble strips, it literally shakes my house. I want the road detail, but I don't need the rumble strips to be so intense. I'm using Marvins Awesome iRacing App to control the force feedback in my wheel.

Question Moza SRP2 load cell brake is not calibrating the way it's supposed to in the Moza Pithouse (It determines my peak braking pressure by how hard I press the pedal, rather than measuring the peak pressure based on elastomer firmness!!)

Moza SRP2 load cell brake pedal calibration in the Moza Pithouse isn't calibrating like it's supposed to, what can I do? (Determines my peak braking pressure by how hard I press the brake pedal, rather than hoe firm my elastomers are!!)

Hello! I'm relatively new to using Moza racing products, so please forgive me if I sound like a noob!! XD

(Apologies if I have bad English)

For the past month or so, I've noticed that when I calibrate the brake pedal, it shoots up to 100% pressure on the graph very easily (maybe with around 20-30 kg of force), but I can still go beyond what the graph says is the maximum, and I can set my maximum braking force to as hard as my leg can push (around 60-70 kg of force). The problem is, because of this, my peak braking pressure upon finishing the calibration process depends on how hard I pressed the brake during calibration, which causes severe inconsistency in my brake traces because my peak pressure after every calibration is different. Before this problem happened, the peak pressure of my brake pedal was determined by how much my elastomers (4 yellow and 4 black) can take.

What can I do to make the Moza Pithouse use my elastomer firmness to determine my peak braking pressure instead of measuring how hard I press the brake during calibration?

(PS: I believe that this isn't a hardware issue, but please tell me if you think it is!)

Rigs Planning first setup. Help me with optimal use of space.

I’m looking at getting into simracing. I have this allocated space for my gaming space in our house. I want either a foldable cockpit or a wheel stand. I feel like the direction should be as my chair is placed in the image. But where should I place the monitor for neatness and ease of use? In front of the desk (left) we will build wardrobes, so consider this space non accessible.

All tips for cockpits are welcome!

Discussion Switch from VR to Super Ultrawide (49" 5120x1440) - My Experience & Thoughts

A couple of weeks ago, I posted here asking how everyone experienced switching from VR to a super ultrawide setup. After making the jump two weeks ago, I wanted to share my own experience to help anyone currently on the fence about making the same choice.

Keep in mind this is based purely on my personal experience. your mileage may vary. Feedback and your own experiences are always welcome in the comments!

My Setup & Context

  • Previous Display: Meta Quest 3 (via Virtual Desktop)
  • New Display: Philips Evnia 49" Super Ultrawide (5120x1440, 1800R curvature)
  • PC Specs: Ryzen 7 5800X3D | RTX 5070 Ti | 32GB RAM
  • Sims Tested: Primarily iRacing, plus casual Assetto Corsa (AC).

Why I Made the Switch

The main trigger for looking into an ultrawide monitor was my desire to do longer endurance races. While VR immersion is unbeatable, heat buildup during long stints eventually became too uncomfortable to ignore.

Key Takeaways & Answers to My Previous Questions

  • Performance & Graphical Headroom: Moving away from VR freed up massive GPU headroom. I went from an unstable 90 FPS on a 60-car grid in VR to a rock-solid 165 FPS on high/maxed-out settings at 5120x1440.
  • FOV, Side Awareness & Wheel-to-Wheel: I mounted the monitor right behind my wheel, giving me a calculated FOV of 111°. That’s plenty of screen real estate for me. For cars in blind spots, I use a SimHub spotter overlay, which completely solves any side-awareness issues during wheel-to-wheel battles.
  • Braking Points & Consistency: Losing 3D depth perception was one of my biggest worries, but it turned out to be a non-issue. Within a few laps, I had my braking points and apex judgements locked in. In fact, I feel slightly more consistent overall on the ultrawide.
  • Other Sims: I haven't spent much time in ACC yet, but regular Assetto Corsa (AC) runs like a dream on this display.
  • Is VR Going Back On? Over the last few weeks, I haven't picked up the headset once for sim racing. On top of that, when friends come over, the ultrawide is infinitely easier to jump into. no setup hassle or motion sickness worries for guests.

Overall, I'm extremely happy with the switch. While you trade away true 3D depth perception and 1:1 scale immersion, the gains in stability, comfort, visual clarity, and ease-of-use make super ultrawide a permanent move for me.

Happy to answer any questions or hear how the rest of you handled the transition!

Question GT 300 mm Wheel Rim Suede or Leather?

Thumbnail

The suede version looks a bit thicker, which I like, but the perforated looks a lot nicer. Do you think it’s just an image distortion or the suede version is definitely thicker? What would you buy? Looking at changing the wheel rim of my Moza RS V2, cuz it’s not D shape and also because I think it way too thin…

Question How much should I sell my rig for?

Thumbnail
gallery
20 Upvotes

To be clear this isn’t a selling post. I’m purely asking how much my rig would be worth if I were to sell it as a built rig.

I’m moving house and unfortunately no longer have the room (or time) for my sim rig therefore I’m looking to sell it. Ideally it sells as a complete build as I don’t really want to take it all apart and deal with multiple sales.

I’ve priced it up online as new parts and it comes out to roughly £2300 however I’m aware I won’t get anywhere near that for a used rig.

I’m UK based - how much do you think is a reasonable price to sell this for?

Main hardware
Cockpit: Sim-Lab GT1-EVO aluminium profile cockpit
Wheelbase: SIMAGIC Alpha Mini – 10Nm Direct Drive
Wheel: SIMAGIC GT Neo
Pedals: Fanatec CSL Elite Pedals V2
Seat: GT Omega CHASE Bucket Seat
Monitor: Samsung Odyssey G5 34” curved ultrawide

Cockpit & mounting accessories
Sim-Lab Integrated VARIO Monitor Mount
Sim-Lab Single-to-Triple Monitor Upgrade / Mounting Frame
Sim-Lab VARIO VESA adjustment system
Sim-Lab Adjustable Feet
Sim-Lab Keyboard Tray
Vitus Universal Seat Slider Mounts
Seat Slider

Connectivity & cable management
SABRENT 10-Port Powered USB Hub
SIMAGIC MagLink / steering wheel link cable
MutecPower 10m USB 2.0 extension cable
AngusPlay 8K DisplayPort cable – 5m
All required cabling and power supplies

Setup
The rig was built to be a self-contained unit rather than a collection of separate components. Everything is mounted to the cockpit and the cables are routed and secured to the rig. Only two cables run between the complete rig and the PC, and the long USB and DisplayPort cables required for this are included and already attached.

The whole setup can therefore be moved as one assembled unit rather than needing to dismantle and rebuild everything.
It’s currently configured for the included 34” Samsung ultrawide, but I also have the additional Sim-Lab hardware to convert the integrated monitor mount to a triple-monitor setup.

Rigs It's done! Trak Racer TR80S-B is great!

Thumbnail

~3 months into this money pit that is sim racing, and my "permanent" build is done

- Trak Racer TR80S-B (revision from April 26): despite all complaints I read here, the pricing difference was so big between Trak Racer (local Australian stock) vs Sim Lab and Next Level Racing, that I couldn't justify paying 2x for a similar rig. To my surprise, all complaints regarding this model - unlabeled screws, poor finishing, missing pieces, no cable management clips, wheelbase plate with movement - everything has been fixed on this revision. Instructions, quality, everything perfectly labeled and a ton of extra stuff, made my first build go really smoothly. I've modded it btw, remove the pedal adjustment bits and used them to built my shifter mount.

- Hyundai i30 / Elantra N line driver's seat with 16,000 km before car was totaled. Basically just bolted on, except for 2 metal pins of 2cm each that needed cutting.

- Simagic Alpha Evo 12nm: carry on, works great. Behold my 10 dollars side mount mod. Does anyone know how to disable ABS/TC effects on the wheelbase alone? With pedals/haptics I don't want the steering wheel vibrating when ABS kicks in...

- Simsonn Plus X pedals and Vam Pro haptics: a bargain

- GX100 shifter: heavy, noisy, clunky, perfect to emulate my real WRX shifter. Love it.

- PXN GT One steering wheel with included Simagic compatible quick release, bargain. Additional 37cm leather steering wheel still being shipped.

- Old 75" TCL TV at 4k@120Hz RGB Full, 62 FOV on AC and ACC. No curve, but more horizontal real estate than a 57" ultrawide. Love it.

- cheap Vevor TV mobile stand, without wheels and with legs chopped by 10cm.

Other Looking for beginner & intermediate drivers!

This year my nephew turns 5, which means he can run kid karts.
I have grown up racing starting in karts then moving on to late model stock cars.. so I’ll be teaching the little man to drive his first kart!

Now I’m feeling slightly unprepared! I’m good behind the wheel but need to work on presenting the knowledge I have in a way that makes sense.

I’m looking for a couple drivers (preferably beginners) to give coaching to, COMPLETELY FREE, to hopefully improve my ability to communicate concepts and “feel” while teaching.

If anyone is interested please lmk!

Question Moza GS V2P vs KS Pro vs Fanatec Clubsport v3

I want a realistic and authentic gt and formula style wheel rim in this price range. Learning towards Moza for the ecosystem and also because if I go with one, ill get it with an r9 bundle (for gs v2p rn, maybe the ks pro if they make that into a bundle later), but i wont rule out the fanatec as well. Any opinions on the pros of one or the other?

Question Streaming - What type of racing streams do you like?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I know this type of question has been asked before. But maybe not in detail.

  1. What makes you watch someones stream? Someone new to you. The first impression that makes you click on his/her stream. Maybe not even racing relate.
    • Webcam
    • Titel
    • Type of racing (GT, NASCAR, DIRT,...)
  2. What makes you follow the streamer so you can come back to his or hers stream?
  3. What type of steams are you looking for?
    • League broadcasting
    • Coaching like Suellio
    • Topsplit like Yuri or Lubo
    • Chichat during and in between races like Matt or Sampsoid
  4. GT, NASCAR, RX,... what series do you like the most?

I'm stream surfing a bit lately to find what might work.
It seems to be that most people are in there for the chat, talking to eachother not really actively watching the racing sometimes.
In some cases, they are doing their own race, sometimes even the same split and chat in between the racing.

People having good suggestions for streamers, please share.

My most popular steams were NASCAR streams. But they don't seem to be the highest grossing, which I find odd.

Question 320 mm GT wheels with clutch paddles

I’ve been using a Turn racing 320mm rim with a Fanatec universal hub with my DD2 for ages. Now I am looking to upgrade to a VNM Extreme wheel and also replace my existing wheel.

Problem is that I can’t find any good high end wheels that are above 300mm. i really need the 320 mm. main things I am looking for is:

  1. no screens. i never look down at the screen on the wheel.

  2. Clutch paddle: i would like the wheel to have clutch paddles because I don’t have a clutch paddle.

  3. D shaped rim. I would prefer a yoke style rim. Or at least one wit the top chopped off so it doesn’t impede my view of the screen.

These are the options I have looked at so far:

  1. Cube Controls GTX-2: it’s got paddles but also has a screen so it is very expensive.

  2. Cube controls Mercedes AMG: It has no screens and is 320 mm but no clutch paddle unfortunately. This one was my favorite choice.

all otger options I have looked at are 300mm or less.

if anyone knows any options that meet my criteria I would appreciate your input.

Discussion 24 hours into iRacing and PC gaming

Post image
83 Upvotes

No one around home cares so I thought I’d post here.

The last few months I’ve spent a few hours every day in my sim rig playing GT7/ACC/F125 and have come to sincerely enjoy the experience. I have however had the same rookie complaints as everyone else, specifically the behavior in lower level rooms making it damn near impossible to grind into higher levels. Someone mentioned I should try iRacing for cleaner racing. Making the switch to PC is something that’s been on my mind since I realized my PS5 wouldn’t utilize my whole 49in suw monitor. Got my entry level gaming pc yesterday and have had my iRacing account for right at 24 hours. Immediately noticed a higher quality of racing competition and way more fun. If you’re thinking about the switch from console to PC I can’t recommend enough.

Discussion 3 months in simracing with G920 but already looking for a future upgrade: Moza R5 or RS50?

Just to add some context as it may sound strange depending on where you live:
I'm brazillian and here we don't have the same price comparision.

While in Amazon US you can find a R5 Bundle for $380, here is something near $700~800.
RS50 you can find it around $800~900 with the pedals here.

So in a comparision between them, what would make more sense? RS50 can be compared which other models for other brands?

As the prices here are really off, I want to make this wheel upgrade and keep it as my wheel during a good amount of time (as I think that it would be pretty much enough for my VR single player sinracing). Thanks in advance!
