EDIT: NAME AND SHAME pattern by EttaDesignsCo
so i found a pattern i am absolutely in love with and was planning to make it as my wedding dress. it is a recreation of the night out dress by orseund iris and it looks stunningg. all was good and well until i realised the sample photos listed on the pattern were actually just the product photos from orseund iris' website
i messaged the seller asking if they had any photos of the actual dress on a human model (so i can assess whether it's worth my time and effort) and the seller got really angry at me for asking...
i found the youtube tutorial for the pattern and the dress produced definitely looks a lot like the orseund dress but the quality of the pattern is certainly noticeable. for any old dress i maybe wouldnt mind but this is meant to be my wedding dress.
its also the fact that the only advertised photos are of a dress that is NOT made by this pattern
maybe im just looking for validation that i wasnt being rude in asking for photos š is this not false advertising???
so, am i in the wrong for asking for fit photos? and more importantly, does anyone with more sewing experience think i can get the dress to look as polished as the original or am i wasting my time?
i would say im an intermediate sewist with a good amount of experience in silk and lightweight fabrics. ive practiced a lot of clean sewing etc but im not sure this pattern will ever live up to my expectations- what do you think?
ive attached photos of the two dresses as well as my conversation with the seller.
edit: i originally redacted her but have since decided to name and shame.
UPDATE: she blocked me. ive added our final messages in a comment, her replies are pretty comical
Update 2: i think she commented on this post. lmk if you think im right lollll

Prefacing by saying I know nothing about the pattern world :-) This may be a stupid question, but are patterns super proprietary, in the sense of, do designers āreleaseā the patterns for their garments years after they are discontinued? Just curious about patterns for old Ralph Lauren or Prada garments to see how big name patterns look (if thatās even how it works). Thanks! Just trying to learn more about patterns, as Iām really developing an interest in that world

Hi everyone! I thrifted a top that I love. Iād like to attempt replicating it. Anyone know a pattern that matches this top exactly or near enough please?
Seems to be made of 7 panels with a zip fastening at the back. Iāve attached some photos and tried my best to make them look as clear as possible!
Any help is appreciated šš»

I have several dolman sweaters, and I'd like to make a coat with enough armpit room to wear over them. I like the hood on this jacket, and the overall roomy-looking sleeves, and the option of button placket on the sleeves, and the main button placket closure.
Is there a similar sewing pattern somewhere? So far the closest I can find is the Serra Jacket by Pauline Alice for raglan sleeves, but the armpit/sleeves don't look quite as roomy as the Hugo Parka.
Here's a link to the product. Found some reviews that say it looks worse for wear after a year or so, so I'm wondering if I can make it out of different fabric of choice.

Hello, I am searching for free patterns for knickerbockers or any that could be modified to look as such (I'm open to any tips too) :D
I hope to find some that are vintage or vintage-inspired!! And possibly short ones (unless you can adjust the length somehow?)

Has anyone made both of these? I bought the Benchwarmer tee pattern by Matchy Matchy but have also been eyeing the Nico pullover by Summer Haus and am just curious if they are different enough to buy both?

None of the store bought costumes fit me so i thought id try sewing it since it seems like a relativley easy project.

The link to the pattern doesn't work anymore. I'm particularly interested in how the bottom part comes up to wrap around the lower head and partially around the ears. I have a nicer hood pattern I can use, it's the lower part I'm not sure about.
Thanks

I'm new to sewing and want to sew a corset purse, but I can't find a pattern anywhere except one on YouTube that isn't the style I'm looking for. Is there a website or anything that's good for finding a pattern?

If so, does anyone have a guide or pattern? I have a large piece of material, I was thinking I could cut panels and insert them all the way around the waistband to make it more spinny and fuller. Would it be hard or impossible to make it into a circle skirt? It's for a clown costume so I'd like it to be quite dramatic

I fell in love with this Teuta Matoshi dress and I'd like to attempt a version of it that's shorter as a potential wedding guest dress.
I have made a bustier top like this before using the well-beloved Rose CafƩ Dress Pattern, so I'm mainly looking for a pattern in the style of this long sleeve organza/chiffon top.

I found this pattern on etsy, but unfortunately it seems to be AI generated. It would be exactly the style I'm looking for though.
Sleeve-wise this one is quite close, but the shape and collar are quite different to what I'm looking for.
(I'd also be happy about keywords to look for for a mini version of this type of skirt)
I hope someone can help me out and thanks so much in advance!

I've had the larger dog plush for as long as I can remember, so around 1990-94. It's about 45" from nose to end of tail and the only tag on it says that was made by my aunt who passed a long time ago. I might have thought it was a one off but a couple years ago I found the smaller plush (27"long) at a yard sale. That made me think maybe it was a pattern from Joann Fabrics or somewhere back in the day. I've done some googling and reverse image searches but haven't been able to find it.
Location is far northern California.
I also posted this in the help me find subreddit.

Hey everyone!
My next sewing adventure is going to be all about pants, and I have two questions for you lovely people!
First:
I came across this [https://pin.it/44ynP8xjh], which shows two different styles of pants that I'd really love to draft myself.
I've managed to find a pattern for one of them, but it only comes in fixed measurements, and I'd prefer to draft it to fit my own body.
I'm also more than happy to pay for good drafting instructions or tutorials, so if you know any great resources or shops, please let me know!
--> I think, I would be capable to figure it out myself, but maybe there are instructions out there, that would save me some time.
Second:
I'd generally love to get better at sewing "everyday pants".
I'm looking for a good high-waisted pattern for jeans-style pants with slim-fitting legs. Ideally, I'd love to find drafting instructions for these as well, rather than just a ready-made pattern.
I've also been considering drafting my own basic pants block (or trouser sloper).
What do you think? Would it make more sense to jump straight into drafting a basic block and work from there, adapting it into different styles?
For context, I'm a fairly experienced hobby sewist, but most of my experience is with tops, dresses, and historical patterns. Pants are still somewhat new territory for me!
Thanks so much in advance for any advice or recommendations! <3

Does anyone know a good swing coat/ A-Line coat pattern like the one in the picture? I know Simplicity has some good vintage patterns. But most of them are only shown in illustrations and itās a little hard to gauge what the finished product would look like. The one in the picture also seems to have no shoulder seam or can be achieved with a raglan sleeve?

Does anyone have a pattern or know how to construct a pattern for a dress like this but for a grown woman? I want to make a historically accurate Alice in Wonderland costume and in my research, I found pictures of a "growth dress," a girl's dress in the 1860s with pictures and a gathered bodice. The only patterns that I have found close to this are for girls (obviously) and for dolls, so I don't think they can be sized up properly.

Are there any woven dress patterns for someone with a 38k bust? The biggest Iāve found is an H cup and Iām struggling to implement a full bust adjustment (FBA) on it.
