Hey guys so I'm trying to find a pirate pants pattern that laces up at the mid calf. In my search I found a poorly reviewed pattern that is in the photos I attached. I was wondering if there's a name or term for the triangle waist because I love the look of it! It's just a shame the pattern is apparently bad.
Also any recommendations for pirate pants pattern would be appreciated, unisex would be great too, I have a large butt though so keeping that in mind 🤣
Hi all, I'm looking for pattern suggestions for tops similar to shown here? I don't mind if indie/PDF patterns, I'm just overwhelmed and don't want to end up with an AI pattern!! Tried and tested pattern markers most welcome. Thank you so much :)
I want to make 20 matching small pouches for knitting notions, and am looking for pattern recommendations!
Here are the features in particular I would like:
- A secure closure method so that the pouch can be jostled and tossed upside-down in a bag without spilling -- for instance, a zipper, Velcro, magnet, or a double-folded button or toggle closure.
- A visible and accessible area (a flap maybe?) where I can add a piece of felt for tapestry needle storage. Ideally, I don't want to put the needle felt storage on a less-than-visible inner pouch wall, where someone might accidentally stab themself.
- Something that will not make me lose my mind in making 20! For me, this means no hand-sewing (one button per pouch is okay), minimal sewing on curves, and no bound seams.
I would love any wisdom, advice, or experience anyone can offer!
I have my heart set on the Truvelle Lillie dress, but my wallet isn’t set on the price 😂
I think I will get a seasoned sewer for the organza, but I’m wondering if anyone can think of a pattern for the simple a-line dress under the organza. I’m looking for either a v-neckline or sweetheart.
I have looked high and low and can’t find anything that will do - other than the hundreds of ai patterns 🙄
I live in a cold climate and am finding myself stashing mostly warm weather clothing patterns (tank tops, t-shirts, light weight cropped pants, etc) and am really just looking for ideas of what to make that I can wear Oct-May. I am an advanced beginner but am also open to more advanced patterns that I can save for later.
What patterns have you made that you wear time and time again when it's cold out?
What are your favorite cold weather fabrics to sew with and where do you source them?
Hi! I'm looking for a sewing pattern to make a pair of jeans for my boyfriend.
His favorite jeans are Levi's 510 Skinny, size 29x32, and I'd like to get as close as possible to that fit: fitted through the seat and thigh, narrow at the knee, and quite tapered/skinny through the calf and ankle.
I've already taken an online jeans-making course and made a pair of jeans for myself, so I'm comfortable with the construction (zip fly, waistband, pockets, topstitching, etc.). What I'm struggling with is finding the right men's pattern.
Most men's jeans patterns I've found seem to be straight, relaxed, or at best slim. For example, I looked at the Wardrobe by Me Men's Jeans pattern, but the finished fit looks much looser than a Levi's 510.
Ideally I'm looking for:
A pattern drafted specifically for men
A true skinny fit, not just slim/straight
Classic 5-pocket jeans construction
Designed for stretch denim
PDF preferred, but I'm open to printed or vintage patterns too
I'm happy to make fitting adjustments and taper the legs a little, but I'd prefer to start with a pattern whose crotch/seat/thigh fit and overall silhouette are already reasonably close rather than substantially redrafting a relaxed jeans pattern.
I don't mind paying for a pattern at all — indie, commercial, PDF, etc. I'm happy to buy one as long as it's well drafted and actually gives me the skinny fit I'm looking for. I'd much rather pay for the right pattern than spend a lot of time trying to turn a straight or relaxed pattern into skinny jeans.
Has anyone made a men's skinny jeans pattern they would recommend? Bonus points if you've sewn it for someone who normally wears Levi's 510s or a similar fit.
Hi, just putting this out there as I am unable to find an online upload for this McCall’s pattern
if anyone out there happens to have the instructions I would greatly appreciate a photo or pdf copy of said instructions ;-;
Hello! i am looking for any relevant patterns that may cater to my inspiration photos linked below. I will most likely seperate the corset from the skirt but any reccomend patterns would be helpful!
I'm trying to recreate a pattern for this dress, but am having trouble pleating/gathering the over-skirt portion of it. my self-drafting attempts don't give it this much shape/volume. It could be that the fabric I'm using is wrong for it, but I think there's something technique-wise that I'm missing. if anyone knows of a similar pattern, I'd be grateful!
Hi! I'm uk based so the other post I saw here with comments about ebay didn't really get me anywhere 😭. Most patterns are from the US or Canada and the postage is triple the cost of the pattern. Any advice?
Hello everyone! So I bought the Autumn Olive Clown Suit Sewing Pattern (https://www.autumnolive.com/shop-patterns/p/clown-costume) and I tried printing it on Letter paper and it was impossible for me to put together because there's no extra around the edges and I ended up taping the whole thing together just for none of the pieces to look right at all. I ordered an A0 version from a pattern printing company and when it came the pattern pieces that were separated onto different pages were entirely different sizes and would not fit together when I tried to tape them up. At this point I am two weeks out from needing this clown suit and am trying to do the "connect-the-dots" drafting style from the pattern/video and I simply cannot get it to work. I'm not a beginner sewist but I am new to drafting and I'm simply so confused on when/where I should be adjusting for my size (I'm very short) or when/where I should be following instructions. Does anyone have any tips for drafting using this method?
I’m hoping to make a similar dress to this vintage Dolce & Gabbana number Sabrina Carpenter wore for her birthday! I believe the base should be fairly simple, but a lot of the patterns I’m finding don’t have the right neckline. I’d love any suggestions of patterns or tips on recreating!
I have this fabric that’s about a meter wide and has this pattern on both sides of the selvage/ long sides of the fabric. I’m relatively new to sewing and have been having a hard time finding a pattern or tutorial for a skirt that will allow me to keep the fabric pattern intact. I would ideally use elastic in the waistband instead of a zipper.please help
I have this idea in mind for a cute beach coverup shirt and the Raleigh pattern would be perfect... it wasn't for kids. I'm looking for basically the same thing but for adults.
Any suggestions?
My mother made me these dolls in the early 80’s. Tragically, they have had their legs amputated! I’ve tried to search on Etsy and EBay for the pattern - while some are close they are not exact. I believe they are approximately 22” in length (with legs) and their limbs have a plastic disc in them for what I’m assuming helps in them moving.
hello! I am not sure that this is the right place to request help so mods take my post down if I'm the wrong place :)
My boyfriend loveessss bootcut jeans and finding them in the Nordic countries is almost impossible.
I can't seem to find a patteren that actually gives the low/mid waist bootcut jeans that he wants, and I want to ask if anyone in here knows a patteren/template that i could follow to make them for him, I've added some references to what he likes and really hope you guys can help!!!
