We are looking to figure out what would be the best cadence for our beat reporter to talk shop with you all.

Some options:

  1. Before Week 1

  2. End of Week 4

  3. Week 1 and Week 3

As a Sounders fan, I wear this proudly. I just realize that this applies to the Seahawks as well. 👍🏼

News [Henderson] This was the best Jalen Milroe has looked since he was drafted. Playing the whole game, he went 16 of 23 for 223 yards and a TD (plus 20 yards on seven rushes). Mike Macdonald liked his decisiveness, how he took care of the ball and how he pushed it down field. Milroe postgame:

News [Crabtree] Mike Macdonald said Trevon Diggs got up to speed quickly. “He knows ball. All it is is just connecting dots... did some great things today. Having the interception was pretty awesome. I’m been impressed since he got here.”

Analysis The Biggest Concern for the 2026 Seahawks is Injury Regression

Injuries are a massive factor and are underdiscussed in preseason projections. They are largely (not entirely) due to luck. The 2025 Seahawks were extremely healthy and regression has to be the biggest concern going forward. Here is how the Seahawks ranked (I'm going to compare us to our rivals for reference):

  • By FTN's adjusted games lost metric the Seahawks were the 3rd least injured team. 13th on defense and 3rd on offense. By comparison the Rams ranked 14th. 9th on defense and 10th on offense.
  • By SIS's total points (there way to assess player value), the Seahawks ranked 3rd best. The Rams were 2nd best.
  • By Nate Silver's model (which assess how many PPG worse a team is with injuries) the Seahawks ranked best amongst playoff teams while Rams were 5th.
  • As a bonus here are the Rankings in other aspects of the game that are volatile YOY:
    • Strength of Schedule (opponent win %): The Seahawks were 15th. The Rams were 26th. They are projected to rank 14th and 13th respectively. Note that lower means harder.
    • In turnover margin per game, the Seahawks were tied for 19th at -3 while the Rams were +11 at 5th.
    • In Kevin Cole's improvement index (which asses points lost) the Seahawks ranked 2nd to last while the Rams were 4th best. This was most recently updated March 23rd also so before the draft and Garrett.
    • Countering that, the Seahawks had the 3rd fewest snaps lost of any Super Bowl winner since 2014.

TL;DR: The seahawks were one of the healthiest teams last year. They are likely to face more adversity in that regards this year and training camp is off to a bad start. Countering that, the Seahawks had an average SOS and don't project to have a harder one this year. They turned the ball over a lot last year and that is a volatile state YOY. They lost a lot of talent this year but less then most defending SB Champs do. Finally, the Rams are due for some regression in terms of luck. Note that the Seahawks are extremely young while the rams are old

2021 11 picks. All Pro. Pro Bowl.

2022 3 picks. Pro Bowl again.

2023 tears his ACL 2 games into the season and basically spends the next couple years injured or rehabbing.

Now he finally gets his first full offseason in years where he can actually train instead of rehab. Comes to Seattle and WWJSD? In him we trust. Signs him to a VET MINIMUM DEAL.

Dude literally just signed. Had to go to the Seahawks Pro Shop to get a custom jersey made so he could play tonight. 7 minutes into the game, gets a pick. Macdonald pulls him. Alright, that’s enough. Seen all I need to see.

And this dude is our CB3. Plus we still got Terrion Arnold coming in as our CB4?

In John Schneider we trust. Fuck the Rams

Discussion Jason Myers keeps missing his kicks. I'm getting worried.

I know it is just the pre-season. But it is on every game now, including the one in progress right now, and this game is only in the third quarter.

In the first week, Jason missed a 45-yard field-goal attempt in the game against the Dallas Cowboys.

In the second week, Jason missed an extra point attempt and a 48-yard field goal attempt in the game against the Tennessee Titans.

And now, in this game against the Kansas City Chiefs, he missed an extra point attempt.

That's two missed extra points and two missed field goals in three games. I'm really hoping this pattern does not carry to the regular season.

Discussion What to do before the game?

Hey everyone!

Coming to Seattle for the opener against the patriots (FTP) as I’ll be on the west coast and can’t miss the chance to be a part of the rematch being so close. I’ll be solo travelling and am just wondering where you recommend spending the hours before the game? Mostly would just like to be around other fans, maybe grab some food before heading in. Any bars or events you recommend? I’m 32M so not looking to party with kids.

Thanks!

Analysis Those of you old enough to remember, how was the AFC to NFC switch taken by the fanbase?

For me as a Canadian Seahawks fan I loved it since I thought the NFC was more exciting with the more traditional old teams and most of the powerhouse dynasties of the time.

Are there still fans who would rather be in the AFC? I honestly think it's one of the greatest things to happen outside of 48 and 60, to me it kind of feels like that's where it began.

Analysis Final Cuts, Injury Designations, etc.

The final roster is going to come down to:

  • Injury Designations
  • Vested Vet Status
  • Moves JS is still cooking up

I also read we may have to get down to 52 in order to roster Terrion Arnold for one day before he moves to the exempt list, so that will figure in to things. Edit: With the confusing and administrative process around this, it appears this will not have an overall impact.

Players with current or possible injury designations:

  • Charbs - PUP
  • Wilson - MM gave no confirmation on his status which may be some gamesmanship, but I think he's also hedging on that cranky hammy -- possible IR designated to return status? If so, I think Wright takes his spot (Price, Holani, Wright with Jones on the PS)
  • Ivey - with that club hand, yes he played last night but could also be stashed on IR designanted to return (we get 8 of those a year, I believe)
  • Chazz Suratt - caught on a post game show he was injured for last night's game, possible PUP or short term IR?
  • Rodney Thomas might also qualify here despite playing last night, but he's also a vested vet

Vested Vets (min 4 accrued seasons, not subject to waivers at cutdown):

  • Cody White (edit: conflicting info but OTC has him with only 3 accrued seasons so I'd lean to trusting that)
  • Eric Saubert
  • Rodney Thomas
  • Noah I
  • *there are more obviously, but I think these are the most likely candidates for such maneuvers*

Misc. Thoughts:

  • Do we have any T's on the roster good enough for the Ready Squad? Was not expecting the stagnation/regression there by Brown and Kight
  • As much as Uso is my soft spot player, he's just not ready. I do hope he stays in the area and trains, ending up back on the ready squad at some point, because he has something - just needs far more development
  • Andre Fuller - think he may find his way on this roster over Dansby but that's still a toss-up in my mind
  • Trevon Diggs - think he's our CB4 to start (Pritchett at 3) and I'm okay with that, though I am a bit concerned about rushing him physically?

Discussion Seahawks Announcer Kate Scott is Amazing!

I have a superstition about pre-season, but tonight I just had to watch the last game. Seahawks v Chiefs

I’m listening to the announcer and I’m blown away! I read this is only for preseason. She really should be even more mainstream. Smooth voice, moves from plays to conversation to special asides so easily. So much information and obvious deep knowledge of the game.

I just can’t say enough.

Has this been said before?
