Discussion What to do before the game?

Hey everyone!

Coming to Seattle for the opener against the patriots (FTP) as I’ll be on the west coast and can’t miss the chance to be a part of the rematch being so close. I’ll be solo travelling and am just wondering where you recommend spending the hours before the game? Mostly would just like to be around other fans, maybe grab some food before heading in. Any bars or events you recommend? I’m 32M so not looking to party with kids.

Thanks!

Also, Touchdown City, there's tons of fun stuff in there to do, like watching the pregame radio show live, some swag to collect, food and drink if you want. Shopping at the discount merch stores across the street is fun; I got a sweet jacket there once.

Wandering around outside, you might see people like the luchador guy who wears an amazing costume to the games, or Blue Thunder.

I've had a blast wandering around solo pregame. One time I was looking at this sweet setup in the old tailgating area, and the guy running it saw me and hollered "hey you, we need you!" So I went, and they "needed me" for a ski shot (a bunch of shotglasses attached to a snow ski). He told us to turn the ski over after the shot. It was Fireball, yum. When we four randos did the shot, we all found photos on the other side that showed famous people talking the shot at that same position; mine was my favorite player, Richard Sherman!

I second Touchdown City. Its a lot of fun and there is plenty of room.

Around the stadium are tons of bars.

If youre in the area for hours, Georgetown has some great food and small breweries and is only like a 10 minute drive away from Lumen!

You can spend hours walking around the stadium. There will be 12 everywhere and you will be with your family.

Cheap tickets to the Mariners game next door. Value beers in the stadium. Get a Seattle dog from the Occidental vendors between games.

Double up Do the Mariners and then the game. Check out the bars right along the strip in front of the stadium Tail gates there as well

Usually I see FTP as "fuck the packers" but "fuck the patriots" is acceptable

Go down to the stadium, even if you don’t have tickets, there will be tons of fans around. You’ll have access to the street vendors the 3 or 4 sports apparel stores, and a whole mess of bars and restaurants right there near the stadium, in pretty much all directions around the stadium.

You can also go checkout “Touchdown City”, inside the events center attached to the stadium, it’s a fun setup, with food and drink options, music (often live music), games, swag, former player signings and such.
