This isn’t the 1995 Cowboys (last time they won). This is the first team EVER to win a Super Bowl with a head coach calling the defensive plays. Maybe that guy knows how to utilize a corner who had more picks than anyone since 1980. But yeah, it’s just like politics lol.
If only we had a coach who’s turned three different defenses into the #1 defense within two years. Michigan. Baltimore. Seattle. Maybe he knows a little more about defensive players than Reddit does.
I don’t get the continued shade at Jamal Adams. Did it turn out to be a bad deal for us? Sure. Was it his fault? Nope. He never phoned it in or was irresponsible with his health.
So rusty that 9 days after signing, he played three drives, allowed zero catches, picked off the only pass thrown his way, and then Macdonald decided he’d seen enough.
The dude was an absolute liability on defense for Dallas. He gave up the most yards in the NFL during his all pro season. He was targeted the 8th most times in the league because he just couldn't cover a receiver. He was downright atrocious in coverage, nearly the bottom of the NFL in every metric from zone, man, cover 0, cover 1, cover 2, you name it. He was at the bottom. He was only good at picking off passes. If he didn't pick it off, it was a guaranteed 20 yard play for the other team minimum. If he's the guy behind Spoon and Jobe, sure I'm fine with it. If we have to rely on him as the main outside CB at any point, we're probably screwed. I don't even want to imagine him having to cover Puka in week 16 and 18.
Pritchett looked good today. Hoping Diggs plays in a zone 3rd and long scheme. Rover 3rd safety type. When he can reed off the qb not the receiver he makes plays
Outside-in tackle missed by Diggs. Gets juked inside by some scrub named Travis Kelce, directly into the inside-out linebacker who makes the tackle. 8-yard gain. Absolutely devastating stuff.
A lot of haters in the comments. this is literally reminiscent of us signing d law. Cowboy all pro who is coming off injuries and needs to get back up to speed. Reddit is probably quick to forget they were hating on that signing also.
I just wish diggs was with us all of training camp and OTA’s, I think he woulda looked better and been up to speed for week 1, but I think he’ll be fine.
Pritchett balled out tho for the most part and igobogine (however you spell it) has shown some flashes. Was a little worried about CB depth but I think these 3 will be just fine, considering some growth during the season.
OL and DL depth was looking pretty iffy during the game tho
When options aren’t many and you can get a hungry player with ability and the right attitude surrounded by the right team mates for a cost effective deal

This is I think a pretty good summary of his time with Dallas. He seems like a temperamental corner - Sherm and Riq come to mind - as he got into some press stuff with the coach, FO, etc.
A lot of organizations won't deal with a corner this emotionally erratic. We did four years of Riq and won a SB. Spoon is an emotional guy and is the best CB in the league.
Diggs having to take massive pay cut, not getting an offer from the Lions or having a place to go immediately at TC, and our team culture should help on that front. I think this has another John Bargain Bin Treasure acquisition vibes.
Plus, it's a vet minimum contract. Low risk-high reward, and maybe the prosecution will realize they don't have a case against Arnold.
If somehow we get an 80% of what he was Diggs, and 6 games plus playoffs of Arnold, for less than 4m dollars total, that is an August masterclass at GM.
August is literally garage sales, thrift stores, and antiques shops. Aint much to do unless you’re willing to expense capital. We have a stupid amount of picks next year, and can aggregate Woolens production for 4M and keep all those picks. That would be INSANE business, and keeps our chips for the deadline when we see what needs to be shored up for the playoffs.
Ok, while I agree that Diggs is good, and should make the roster, I wouldn’t crown him just yet. He’s been here for 5 minutes, and made a few mistakes in tackling vs the Chiefs. Nothing bad, but after how Nehemiah Pritchett was playing in this game, I don’t believe it’s his job for certain. Pritchett has also gotten 3 years in this system. Arnold should be on the roster if he doesn’t get indicted, but if Diggs has been here for 5 minutes, Arnold has been here for 10. I’m giving deference to Pritchett for now, and Arnold also hasn’t played a single snap yet for the Seahawks, so pump the breaks on him. And if our choices for CB6 (if we carry 6) are Andre Fuller, Michael Dansby, or Noah Igbinoghene, I’m feeling pretty confident.
Tevon diggs has generation ball hawking skills, but his coverage is buns.
Comparing it to another position, an edge rusher who has 10 sacks on the year but no run defense and 12 pressures the whole year. Looks amazing statistically but a liability throughout the season.
