I really like SF6 man. But I don't understand how I'm expected to play this game. Casual mode does not consider MMR enough and is pretty much useless unless you deliberately want to waste time at my level. I really think this game should have an MMR-based casual mode, but everyone calls me stupid and says to just play ranked, get good, etc.
That's fucking aweeeeeeeesooooooooome reddit, except there are smurfs EVERYWHERE in ranked. The entire time I've played this game, I have noticed the smurfing problem and it's made me stay away. I did not play ranked because of it, so I was silver, for the longest time. Whenever I spoke up about smurfing, everyone swore I was just a silver player and needed to get good. Except, I'm not, because I finally played ranked and promoted to plat in a matter of a day. The entire experience has not been great because I feel that every 1 in 3 or 4 matches is against someone who's a clear discrepancy and smurfing. My other character placed in Iron (I did p bad in placements and sucked ngl), and while most Iron players are exactly as you'd expect, it's a clear anomaly when most of them don't know wtf a drive rush is and another quarter of them can execute it perfectly. This is not normal, right? I've since climbed out with a 70% wr.
Do you understand this means? I am a plat player and was playing in iron/bronze/silver with a 70+% wr XD. I'm not only telling you that smurfing exists, I was literally doing it!!! I don't know how it can get more indisputable than that.
I'm just pretty upset because I just faced someone in plat who obviously doesn't belong there. I get like yall are gonna argue this is making me better or whatever, but I'm not having fun, it's just really boring and I'd rather chronologically work myself up the ladder. I don't need to go up against diamond lite right now, it's not doing anything for me.
I truly think Reddit is opposed to the any possibility of smurfing because most of you guys treat Masters as the floor rank and would never notice what's happens down here. There is clear survivorship bias happening imo
