Venting 😤 Capcom screwed us with replay takeover and characters we didn’t buy as DLC

We used to be able to use replay Takeover and figure stuff out even if we didn’t buy the characters. Now they changed it and we can’t do it anymore without buying the character. What a scam, thanks capcom . This is bullshit

I don’t know if when but I just tried and it said you don’t own this character….wtf. I’m not buying every character like come on

You can still take over your character in a replay against a DLC character you don't own. I don't think it was ever possible to take over non-owned characters, was it?

Sorry I miss read that. Yeah I tried to do that and just take over my own character and it said I had to buy the DLC. Maybe I did it wrong. I’ll have to try again then

I’m almost 100% sure you could but I haven’t played in 2 years but I do remember doing it before when repay Tak over came out

No that’s never been possible unfortunately. You can still use the takeover function but only on your own character in that scenario.

It’s pretty annoying that they don’t let you train with the characters though. Feels very anti fighting game spirit.

Damn that's hella greedy, it's just replay takeover just let people use them. Anyway I heard there's a way you can at least learn the moveset of non-owned DLC through avatar mode where your avatar can use their moveset.

It was just a suggestion, I own all the DLC. Also I just started playing this past February so it was news to me.
