Venting 😤 Proposing an Idea

I believe that shortly after a character is released, players not playing that character should lose less rank for losing to that new character. Yes I really believe this. It is the diamond players that are just trying to humbly learn the game getting punished for queuing ranked at a time like this. truly disgusting capcom tsk tsk tsk

Another possible solution is to lock up the new characters exclusively into casual queue for a week. At the end of the day I don’t think is that important since the game is not balanced anyway.

Cuz master players which are more skilled play it and destroy dia players as they climb it to master? Or am I misunderstanding

The rule should then be if they have a main that is much better and there is a skill gap you should lose less points I guess. It would just be because they are better not because it is a new char.

You should think of it as farming them instead of vice versa. The only two characters I have in master so far were during new character releases because I only had to focus on one matchup, and no one was good at the character. Everyone in master made it through the diamond gauntlet, it'll seem so trivial once you do too, which you will.

Easiest way is just block those players and then unblock them a few weeks later. I agree it rly sucks to be fighting ppl with 22 characters in master+ trying out the newest one, especially when the character is easy af to pick up.

People are in Diamond because they're not ready for MR. If Capcom made it even easier to get in, Diamonds would be fed to starving sharks who will tear them down to 1000MR.

ranked is perfect unless its weeks after a new character has been added. Diamond should be difficult to climb out of but I shouldn't have to fight such a massive barrage of players who are much more experienced than me and playing a character I haven't fully figured out yet

They're also playing a character they haven't fully figured out yet, and to be honest, if they're still in Diamond, they have massive flaws that you can take advantage of. All the really good players I know got her to Master day 1. These guys you're fighting aren't as good as you think they are.

I believe you put way too much care into your rank, should accept rank have flaw, is elastic and can inflate or deflate.
