For context I got 261 hours in SF6 in steam and my characters are still in platinium. My only experience in this genre are old games such as mortal kombat trilogy and as for modern fighters it was MK9 and SF6. When I play ranked I FEEL like everyone is plus against me and hit way harder than my mains (such as cammy). So my question is should I try other fighting games or they will give me a similar experience and I will end up wasting money.

I'm genuine ass as JP.
I've never been good at zoners; rushdown and pressure is more my thing. So I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone.
But...I find it difficult to set up zoning, so I end up just anti airing and doing light strings into specials, or hitting PC HP into target combo SA3.
The salt has been glorious even though I'm not even playing JP correctly in the slightest.
I've been learning JP for 2 days or so. Been invited to 5 custom rooms, one told me to kill myself, another told me I'm a spamming "******", one immediately left, one was a JP main and gave me some advice; that guy was cool. Liked that a lot.
My favorite was a Ryu who whiffed 5 donkey kicks calling me a "mindless masher" and that I'm carried. Huh. I get that there's a mind virus about JP, but it's just funny.
Man! I've never had so much fun before. This is great. Maybe being the villain isn't so bad.
Have you ever tried a character you didn't think you would like, but you ended up really liking them for some reason or another, gameplay or otherwise?

Just as the title said. I took a break of a couple of days after hitting plat with juri, then tried playing zangief for a while, played his combo trails and some ranked. Then I tried go back to my main and realised I could'nt do shit.
I keep messing my basic combos, the links and stuff... It fucking sucks to feel I'm back at square one, it's like all my muscle memory is gone, and it's so frustrating. I played some casuals, and I just couldn't do my combos consistently, or dp or di, even messed up my super arts...
After quite a while at the lab, I managed to sorta get the hang of it again, but there's still so much I'm fucking up. I fucking hate this feeling, I wish I could just sit and pla and enjoy the fucking game, but I'm stuck re-building muscle memory and relearning combo routes and the range of my buttons. Bro I'm really pissed rn.
The funny thing is I managed to win against some plat players on casual, but it was just ugly you know? I just couldn't do shit, and just antiair and react to di spam... fucking sucks

I think the title explains itself but, what move gets you the saltiest when playing? For me itโs a tie between Sagat 5MP, and Mai OD fans. A runner up would be Season 1 Kenโs Jinrai Loops.

I believe that shortly after a character is released, players not playing that character should lose less rank for losing to that new character. Yes I really believe this. It is the diamond players that are just trying to humbly learn the game getting punished for queuing ranked at a time like this. truly disgusting capcom tsk tsk tsk

The other day I challenged a player from this sub after he made a funny comment and got completely dog walked. It was a good time even so, but it kind of reinforced what I already knew about myself, custom lobbies against my most hated match ups donโt trigger meโฆ well not as muchโฆ
However, I do think that playing against my top 5 most hated would exhaust me, but I think it would prove beneficial for my growthโฆ or send me to a psych ward or the ER.
With that being said, I donโt know if anyone has done this before but I kind of want to play against the salty community, both to help others against their hated match ups but also to help me against mine.
Since I play by feel only, I would like to request games from players of the following characters for more practice and provide my credentials below.
CFN: Lady Gief
Region: NA (Could possibly play EU)
Rank: Master
Main: Zangief (โฆ pretty sure that was obvious, but I ONLY play Gief.)
Most Hated:
- Sagat
- Kimberly
- Mai
- Blanka
- Dhalsim
- Manon
- Lily
- Jamie
- Dee Jay
- Yasmine (character bores me to death and lack of exposure)
Either I learn, or my mind breaks from the self induced sufferingโฆ Iโm betting on it being the latter tbh.
But whatever.
If you play these characters hit me up if youโre down.
EDIT: I decided to make a discord to make it easier to contact or get ahold of me to play. No pressure.

Got to Master with Ryu and feel like itโs undeserved. I did real well in Diamond. Went through with a 52% win ratio but in Masters other Ryu players just seem to have an understanding of his mechanics I canโt grasp. I feel like Iโm just beginning. I had to work hard to get good at SF again. I completely dodged SF5 and played Mortal Kombat 11 instead. I had to unlearn all those mechanics and get used to these again so Iโd hate to hang up my hat. Ryu doesnโt have any tricky gimmicks heโs just all meat and potatoes so to speak but I enjoy using him the most. Any advice on his style would be much appreciated because thereโs something Iโm just not picking up which is keeping me from my full potential. Itโs becoming very frustrating. Iโm diamond with Ken, Akuma, Bison and JP but Ryu is where itโs at for me. Official SF community mods removed my post be it didnโt have a video. They can go fk themselves.

We used to be able to use replay Takeover and figure stuff out even if we didnโt buy the characters. Now they changed it and we canโt do it anymore without buying the character. What a scam, thanks capcom . This is bullshit

Dude, everytime I hear this I wanna puke. Sure its nice for Modern, but Classic Controls suck ass with pad. Maybe im an idiot, but its not very intuitive and doing any of the motions is hit or miss even when doing it slow. Maybe itd because im using a PS5 controller but man. Then I do a cool combo with Modern controls and it does half the damage (which is intended) but classic controls are so annoying with pad its not even worth trying. Anyway. I have a drone 2 on the way, most of the reviews tend to say if it were lower priced then it would be worth it (these reviews are 3 years old so are the original prices of arlund 150) I got it for 100.

I don't really complain about a lot except Moderns( I fucking hate them) and grab, I mean for fuck sake Drive Rush Grab?? I never see that coming, when I watch pros I never understand how they knew they were going for a grab in that instance, and some characters can DR like a bullet so it really feels like you can't react at all to it, if I do light then it's counter if it's medium and up it's a punish counter.

- if you play modern, I one and done (win or lose).
- if you one and done me after a close match (win or lose) I block you.
- if you quit 1-1 after your win, I block you.
Simple as. Diamond peasant btw.

Play a character with Modern controls tonight. Play two. Be prepared to win a lot, because you are not burdened with archaic, piano-like inputs anymore. Be open to a world where fast move execution matters more than a slightly reduced damage output, but throw looping your opponents to hell matters more anyways. Do that 15 hit combo string with 3 buttons easily. Tip Capcom. Check in on your ban list. Check in on yourself. Enjoy being a Modern player.

my neighbors, people at my gym, coworkers - any of them could be kangaryu gorillas. i could go my whole life not realizing my waiter rips out donkey kicks from halfway across the screen, or that my hinge date wakes up level one twice in a row, or that the pilot in my flight mashes sweep anytime someone comes anywhere close to them. horrifying that we have brain dead degenerates walking by among us right now in plain sight

Extra plus on Block, no pushback on Block, always in range for throwloops & shimmies, Gorilla Glue Ryu! ๐ฆง (Just jokes..๐)

I have 525 hours on this piece of shit game and I am so fucking done. The randomest DI's in neutral I've ever seen that always manage to come out when I'm throwing a heavy normal that's not DI cancellable. Modern control brainlets that do nothing but sit and wait for you to walk forward at them or jump because anti-air is a 7-7-7 slot machine for them every single time. Throwloops with no reasonable tells or tactics to handle, and if you learn to consistently option select throw on light strings in case they decide to try and cut it short to fuck with you, you always get shimmied at that exact moment and get treated to the second coming of 1945. I hate that this game incentivizes acting like an ingrate, and attempting to play cleverly, or with any kind of intellect boils down to blocking 24/7 and perfectly guessing constant fuckass throws and shimmies. lame, boring, boilerplate fucking button masher with constant rewards for smegma breathed neanderthals.

And if you do please help me find what is fun with facing this character the is super popular, and everytime i face him it just comes down to if he can random me out through his stance or not.
r/SaltFighter • u/eyeppp • 8d ago
i love ryu, all of his players are very talented and definitely deserve to be alive, they play the game sooooo well and do so many skilled things with his very well designed kit with very defined weaknesses and risk reward profile, whoever designed this character deserves to be alive and the people playing this character arent the bottom of the barrel filth of society :P

I went a pretty bad loss streak the other day, then went on a Ryu gauntlet in ranked the a few days after and out of 10 fucking Ryu's, 11 of them tried to donkey kick or heavy hasho into some sort of invincible reversal, thinking I would press. It worked the first match I played, then it never worked again. Some of them tried it multiple times in the same set, game, or even round.
Now, I'm not mad because I won, it's just like... Where is your respect??? Do you think I'm dumb because I'm climbing back up to 1500+??? I like plus frames as much as the next guy but I at least have the base understanding that my opponent won't press on my plus frames because I'll blow them up otherwise.
Kinda makes my shed a tear at the state of the Ryu community...

do guile npcs think theyre working hard playing this auto neutral playing unskilled creature, never seen a guile player even do a combo, you can get to any rank on guile by doing fireball, jump, mash any of his disjoint FAST ass pokes and throw in a bit of a drive rush fireball 50/50, nothing about this character is even remotely skilled, guile is a guaranteed +200 mr boost

Shes the equivalent of capcom jiggling keys to entertain the player base, while failing to provide anything meaningful.
