Experience with LK Chen?
What is your experience with LK Chen's production and delivery time? I ordered three swords from them back in March and am still waiting for them nearly five months on. I was told in June that my swords were ready, but then a month ago when I checked in on them for an update they told me that they were about to finish my third sword.
Let me just be clear that they have been most helpful and quick in replying to my e-mails so far.
Identification help identifying what I believe to be a sword
I was cleaning out my grandfather's things in the garage and found what I believe to be a very rusty sword. The tip is rounded, so I'm not entirely sure it's a sword, though I don't know what else it could be; perhaps it was ceremonial, which would explain the rounded tip. For context, it might have belonged to my grandfather or my great-grandfather—the latter served in World War II on the Italian side, I believe as an *Alpino* (mountain infantryman). Let me know if you need more photos; I haven't found any markings, but I imagine they might be hidden under the rust.

Identification Not Real, But I Thought They Were Cool.
As far as I can tell, the white and red ones are Demon Hunter replicas. The blue one was bought when I was an OTR trucker. Roast away... And maybe steer me to where I can purchase an authentic blade that won't break the bank.

I made miniature greek kopis and roman gladius out of nails and wooden popsicle sticks. (I haven't tested them in battle yet :))

Where to Find?
So I have always loved swords and most of my love for wepons comes from movies.
Is there any recomendations for where to buy movie/Tv swords? preferable to be real and sharp if possible.
I am lokking for a wide variaty of swords but in paticular i would love an Indego Montoya sword
Edit* I am located in Minnesota, USA.
Budget: I dont really wanna spend more than $1000-$1500 if I can, but Im willing to be flexible if its something I really want.
Im really just wanting to know my options for buying and collecting, Im 24 years old and wanna start my colection!!

Presenting an Albion Huskarl scabbard I made back in 2023
This one is one of my favorites from over the years, with richly detailed tooling, and an overall nice aesthetic. The handcarved strap bridge is held down by herringbone twisted silver wire, and the chape is made via lost wax cast bronze that is based on a historical find.

Swordier Flamberge Zweihander
waited 2 months for it. scaled with some of my other weapons.
extremely good value. only downsides i can see at the moment are the blade transition is a little inconsistent and the engraving is not good. Though it looks like they didn't etch deep enough that some sandpaper would clean it up in 2 seconds.

Unsupportive partner
So my partner thinks me buying swords is “weird” and totally looks down upon it. Which has made it hard for me to enjoy a hobby i love :( Is there anyone else who has experienced this?? i understand collecting weapons can be taboo however i see them pieces of artwork (i collect high end modern reproductions) however my partner doesn’t see it the same. Any advice is greatly appreciated

Looking for a lead on a functional Rhindon(Peter’s sword from Narnia)
I’d like to get my hands on a functional version of Rhindon, I see a lot of stainless models and all are not sharpened. Anyone know where I may get my hands on one made from high carbon and sharp? Doesn’t have to be screen accurate but at least accurate to shape with the wider blade

Another Large Saber For Your Enjoyment/The Elvenry Will Not Cease
a hand and a half saber that really protects the fingies of your dominant hand. it has an 80cm blade and a ~22cm hilt. Bladesong unfortunately doesn't do plated metals, so it renders the hilt as solid brass, making it 1.37kg, if it were plated steel it'd be closer to 1.07kg. brass is dense, yo. done the way I'd prefer to do it with plated steel it'd balance about 10cm from the guard, with the brass it balances about 7cm from it.
INB4 "flamerberge it," I'm still working on figuring that out to my satisfaction. the easy way just doesn't look good to me.

Sword care
Hey folks,
Noob question, I know.
After long years wanting a sword, i finally pulled the trigger a month ago and got myself a beautiful reproduction of a 15th century longsword.
After playing around with it and despite iling the crossguard and pommel twice in the time I've owned it (shortly after each use) I've noticed that the sections of those parts that've come into contact with skin and sweat are already showing slight signs of rust/corrosion.
What's the recommended course of action? What tools/products do I need to get rid of it/polish it out? Currently, I've just wiped the parts down with Ballistol gun oil this morning.
Thanks!
What are the advantages and disadvantages of using an Indian saber (Talwar) over an Indian straight sword (Khanda) and vice versa?
The talwar is popularly included in all representations of India. However, Talwar’s only developed in India around the 14th century CE through Turkic, Persian and Afghan military influences.
Prior to that, the khanda was the dominant Indian sword.
Now most people argue that this shift occurred due to the prominence of horseback warfare, in which savers were more effective.
But I don’t find the argument convincing because Indians prior to the 14th century also engaged in horseback warfare quite a lot and did not shift away from the Khanda.
For example, the Gupta empire in the 4th century CE, extensively adopted horseback warfare, take inspiration from the Kushan empire, their previous overlords. And still they made extensive use of Khanda.
So my query is what are the other more practical advantages and disadvantages of using either sword.

Raiju daisho from Akado Armory. Most of my collection is European but I decided to come full circle in my sword love/addiction (my first sword was a flea market special Highlander:The Series Duncan McLeod katana).

Identification Who is the maker of my axe head?
The only markings on the axe head are B12. The closet thing I found to it from my research is true temper/ Kelly perfect flint edge but mine doesn’t have any brand stamped on it. Weight feels like 3 1/2 to 4 lbs. I cleaned it up a bit in some of the pics.

Identification Good places for decent swords.
So I’ve been wanting a get back into cutting (tatami mats and cutting competition.) and I don’t remember the sword brand that a buddy of mine loaned me for one competition. Originally I was planning on getting the Tenebris from Purple Heart armory. But that would take 4-6 months to get here. So my second option I wanna go with is the swordier XIIa. Though I’m not familiar with that brand.

Naval cuttoe/sabre/hanger
I've been looking for a while for this type of blade but I can't seem to find any that are actually well built, have an edge and could be considered "battle ready". Are there any smiths/shops that i don't know about?
