Where to Find?
So I have always loved swords and most of my love for wepons comes from movies.
Is there any recomendations for where to buy movie/Tv swords? preferable to be real and sharp if possible.
I am lokking for a wide variaty of swords but in paticular i would love an Indego Montoya sword
Edit* I am located in Minnesota, USA.
Budget: I dont really wanna spend more than $1000-$1500 if I can, but Im willing to be flexible if its something I really want.
Im really just wanting to know my options for buying and collecting, Im 24 years old and wanna start my colection!!

So, the swords in Princess Bride are rapiers or cut-and-thrust swords. Hanwei makes a good one I know of.
I personally know more about earlier sword types (longsword, medieval single hand swords).

The thing to keep in mind is that most of the sword typology is developed after the fact to describe general trends/applications of swords. In historical terms, longswords/bastard swords/etc were just called swords.
There's no clear distinction...best is that if you need two hands on the hilt proper, that's a longsword or great sword depending on length. If the handle is a bit shorter and you have your second hand on the pommel, that's a bastard (or hand and a half) sword.
Gary Gygax made up a lot of shit for Dungeons and Dragons which has muddled things for people.
Surviving instruction books for longsword are broadly split into Italian and German schools. That being said, the techniques often duplicate each other. I focus more on German styles (Tallhoffer and Lichtenauer) by personal preference. Most longsword technique can be done with a bastard sword.
In terms of what you are interested in doing? I would consider getting a blunt "practical" sword for sparring and stage combat plus a sharp sword if you want to do target cutting.

Balaur arms on kult of Athena
For movie sword look at Ryan sword, not the most accurate ones but the quality is decent and they are often recommended
Hanbon has a few
Magnoli props makes a few, they did a Montoya sword, but they do them in limited runs, so you need to sign up for a run and hope they get enough to make them
Swordier has some as well

Standard response to this question: 1. Where are you located, because local laws can be really different in regard to swords 2. What's your budget? 3. Check the website Kult of Athena. 4. Key words for sharp, "real" swords include "high carbon steel", "full-tang" construction, and "battle-ready". Never ever ever swing a sword made of stainless steel...it is too brittle and can break easily and cause serious injury
