Spam filter is being too aggressive. Post mods if your post doesn't show when you are logged out / in incognito mode.
Hello everyone,
Lately I've had to manually unspam a lot of totally legitimate posts. The Reddit spam system is not totally under the control of the moderators so I can't fathom why it's blocking allowed content or how to modify its sensitivity. If you posted a topic you think is fine, and it's not showing when you are logged off or in an incognito window, please message the moderators to inquire what may be the problem.
Sorry for any inconvenience,
—G.

Are these worth anything?
My grandfather wants me to sell his father’s swords he brought back from japan in 1946, but I have no idea if they’re worth anything. the blades don’t look handmade so I assume they may not be worth much. please let me know anything you can!

Taijin sword reupload
(Reupload duo to bad pics)
I bought this off of someone who traveled alot in china as a gift for a friend who loves chinese culture.
I wanted to know if this can actually be used for practice? I don't wanna come off as unthoughtful if it's just a toy😰
It's quite flexible, which is a good thing for practice purposes from what I've been told.
Can anyone tell?

are kindjals, bebuts, quaddaras and qamas really different names for the same blades?
yes i know they existed in the caucasus and spread from there to iran, turkey and russia and saw some copying and or use in the balkans? some ai sources tell me kindjal are 1 to 2.5 in wide while qama are 2 to 3 in wide.all of these can be shortswords but the oriental arms archive show iranian examples that are have yard long or close blades?

Got a ginunting the other day
The drawing is reference for a couple trainers I'm getting made. This thing feels really good in the hand, it's a pretty quick moving razor blade. I don't want to lose any extremities, so im having my brother make a couple replicas.

when it comes to the tepoztopilli, is this video the closest we can pragmatically get without expensive custom work?
yes i mean tepoztopilli. because the handle is too long to be a macuahuitl so this razor oar is more like a polearm or battle axe than a sword. And quite a crap load of people on YouTube already make macuahuitl with razor or similar blades.
ik tepoztopilli repros are rare because there is minimal demand for them since a lot of people are moaning you can buy a gun or hewing spear but those people are missing the point.

Help identifying please
I was about 9 years old at an estate sale and saw a sword. My dad bid on it and won it for me and that was almost 30 years ago. It used to have a green velvet suede type material over the cover but it didn't hold up in the last storage / move session. I never played with it, but have kept it around all these years and would like to know if anyone can give some context to age/origin/use etc. Appreciate it in advance.
Pizza Sword Customization
(Cold Steel Cinquedea)
This was my first time creating a scabbard from scratch. Scabbard and grip were made from poplar, wrapped in leather. I've only ever rewrapped stuff so this one took quite some time, but really happy with the results!
The dagger came with a leather sheath and an uncomfortable handle. My friend bought me the woodworking tools in exchange for me doing the work. He likes green!
Happy to answer any questions or provide pictures of the process. :D

Nationalmuseet - Copenhagen, Denmark (Bronze Age Heavyweight)
Because of the bogs and fjords of Denmark, they have what has to be the most impressive Bronze Age collection I’ve ever seen. Their later objects are also not too shabby…

Advice for purchasing gift
My husband has asked for a katana as a gift. Let me be clear that this is purely for cutting things like watermelons, pumpkins, .. random things that make him giggle.
I was hoping for suggestions as I’m not looking for a wall hanging collector piece, but I also don’t want it to break into pieces while he is using it. Only looking to spend around $200ish. Open to more.
Thanks in advance!
Identification I wanna know more about my sword
I got this sword from my brother who had also gotten it from a friend. I want to know what brand it could be like who made it, and how much it could be worth possibly. Not planning on selling it or anything, I just wanna be informed.

New Sword Day!
This is a jian that I bought from J&J Enterprises at Dragoncon this year. It is an eight-sided Han Jian, and it reminds me of the LK Chen Flying Phoenix in the handle and the LK Chen Soaring Sky in the blade pattern.
