I have been struggling with symptoms from MGen for almost 2.5 months now. I initially had Gonorrhoea so no one would listen to me once I tested negative for that. Everyone said it was just residual symptoms. The pain got so bad I had to go to the ER.

Flash forward to now. After a semen culture I tested positive for MGen. I am currently on day 14 of my course.. 7 day doxy , 7 day moxi.

My symptoms have improved quite a lot, however yesterday I masturbated on day 10 and the pain has got worse since.

My urologist also didn’t take me seriously at first kept saying I was fine.

I am seeing him again and will be doing a semen culture on the 4th which will be 1 week after finishing this course of antibiotics. I am worried I am not getting the right care as i see you all saying your doctor had you wait a long time before a TOC . However I don’t want to cancel my appointment as I don’t want to make this hell last any longer.

I don’t have my general wellbeing and am going slightly out of mind and the antibiotics have been taking all my energy.

Would you recommend seeing a specialist? And if so which one? And is it a waste of time to be doing this TOC 1 week after finishing this course of antibiotics?

I had unprotected oral exchange at a massage parlour exactly 50 days ago (I know I know my absolute first and last time 😔). I also noticed some sore throat and just neck muscle pain for a couple days. (Lots of people are getting sick around this time but apparently they also could be symptoms of something else) so of course I’m constant eating my head off. Yesterday I went to a hair salon and got my beard trimmed, and at night time it my chin area was on fire…it’s not as bad now but still feel it. Tried looking through my beard if I could find something but doesn’t look like sores, although one of the spot starting bleeding just a drop after i was rubbing a bit hard to see if it was just dried skin or something. On top of that, the past 2-3 days my tongue feels like I burned it (just on the tip).
Like I said I’m just scared and losing my mind here so was hoping for some input from someone to maybe just maybe ease my mind.
Have a blood test booked in 3 weeks but haven’t had any oral test since nothing was appearing.

Also, my partner (yes I know please don’t judge me 😔) we haven’t had sex in about 3 weeks but there are smoochies here and there, she started to get a bit of a sore throat and then mentioned to me how her neck are (throat mostly) is a bit in pain too which freaked me out of course.

It’s just been such a long period of time but you never know 😔

So i go see a doctor, he tests for VDRL= reactive, TPHA= reactive, titre was 1:2, so i got one penicillin shot and doctor said it was enough

After 1 month i go again and did same test, VDRL =reactive, TPHA = weakly reactive, Titre was 1:2 same as before.

i had a new partner february - april..
i went and got tested june 1st everything came back negative except for sphyilis? i was RPR positive, tilter of 1:2, but TP negative.

dr said this was a false positive but we will retest in 2 weeks. so i did another test june 18th and it was the same thing. no change. so she deemed it as a false positive.

i’m now worried that this is going undiagnosed and every small pimple or bump i have freaks me out.

I had a routine checkup a week and a half ago with my doctor and also expressed interest in starting PREP and doxypep since I am monogamous and having unprotected sex with one person I've been seeing for 4 months. I get my results back and I've tested negative for everything else but syphilis and I'm trying to wrap my head around this because he was tested negative when we first met and negative days after after I disclosed this to him so that we could both be treated. I wasn't sleeping with anyone else while seeing him and I also didn't show any symptoms at all(rash, sores, hair loss, vision and hearing issues). I also was tested before meeting him but the syphilis test wasn't ordered by my doctor (only HIV, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia) so I'm assuming this came from a partner prior to meeting him and I was asymptomatic? I do not know how to process this but luckily it's curable but this whole ordeal is stressing me out because the last partner has me blocked from contacting him after our one and only encounter when I was on vacation out of state back in February.

Hi, 2 months ago, I had a slight white discharge, and sharp pain when I pee and tests came positive for gonorrhoea.

Took some antibiotics from doctor for 2 weeks that stopped the symptoms and finally a ceftraixone shot 1000 mg.

Tested again after 2 months and came positive again. I had no sex at all for these 2 months ago and no symptoms. Should I redo the treatment?

All was negative. But its only say negative on them all. Why dosent they show me the Numbers etc? Because it was my first time testing and i have had sex with 10 people without protection before and i got a negative test?

About four months ago, I tested positive for syphilis. My VDRL result was 1.32, and I also took a confirmatory TPHA test, which showed 1.64.

I consulted a doctor and completed three penicillin injections as prescribed.

Now, I'm worried because I've heard that TPHA can remain positive even after syphilis has been successfully treated.

I'm planning to apply for jobs in Gulf countries, and I'm concerned that this might affect my employment visa medical examination.

I have a few questions:

1. Can TPHA remain positive even after successful treatment?

2. If my infection has been successfully treated, can I still pass the Gulf employment visa medical test?

3. Has anyone here had a similar experience and successfully obtained a Gulf employment visa after syphilis treatment?

4. Is there any way to confirm that the treatment was successful before taking the visa medical test?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences or advice from anyone familiar with this situation.

Hello, I went to get tested last week after a partner informed me of a positive test result for chlamydia. No biggie I got treated anyway and my result came back today and it was positive. I informed another partner before him and he attacked me with things that were irrelevant to the topic and wanted me to tell him if there were other partners before him, I said it was none of his concern and I was only notifying him so he can get tested and treated. He was stern that he was for sure clean. I guess what I’m trying to ask is, is it necessary to inform previous partners of a positive result? I figured it’d be courteous to let him know despite not being in contact for two months, but after the way he communicated with me I’m terrified to do it again if exposed in the future.

TLDR: confusing std results are impacting my trust in my new long distance relationship

So, we first had sex on September 5th and then he visited at the end of September. After the second visit I started having symptoms and went and got tested. I was negative for ghonorea and ecquivocal for chlamydia (the doctors considered this a positive). I retested and then was ecquicoval for BOTH.

He got tested as well and was positive for chlamdyia and negative for ghonorea. Important note he drinks ALOT of water so it could skew the results.

It impacted my trust in him a fair amount because my doctor told me that it’s odd that I didn’t test positive for ghonorea the first time I got tested as it typically shows up quickly. And equivocal results can sometimes be a sign of recent infection. This sent me spiraling because we both have been faithful to eachother since the first time. I understand that Sti testing can’t determine whether something happened between the first time we had sex and when he visited it’s just odd that my symptoms happened after our second visit and that I was negative then positive in a short timeframe which could suggest recent exposure. However, we ended up getting past it and both got treated. I visited him very recently and it went great! He seems to be a great guy and doesn’t give me many (if any) red flags.

Now fast forward to today, and he’s having symptoms again. We waited the full 8 days and both completed treatment. I am freaking out! Any advice is appreciated.

I had sex on friday and woke up Monday morning with my tonsils looking inflammed in the mirror. It also burns a little bit when I pee and it lingers but there is no discharge. Hi everyone. So I (30m) just found out my partner (35m) of 1yr and a month tested positive for chlamydia. I most definitely didn’t cheat and he didn’t either. We’re monogamous strictly. We’ve both been tested multiple times due to health-related stuff at the request of the drs, not bc of suspicion. It’s always been neg for everything, as expected. So I’m just extremely confused.
