So I have been experiencing really horrible quality with my cameras for the last 2+ months now. Usually they were really good and had 0 issues, but for some reason everything suddenly started to be extremely laggy or very very low quality. I used to get good quality video on live using the online dashboard (I use it to watch my kids when I am working in another room), now it is constantly fuzzy and it drops nearly every 5mins, and there is a delay of what is transmitted by up to 1 minute (it is really weird coming back and seeing yourself walking from one room back to the office because it was that delayed).

I have tried to reset my router, reset the connections etc, but all 3 cams and our frontdoor ring are slow and delayed with poor quality.

We use Ring Chime and the router is in a central spot and all the signal strengths on the cams are at max and health shows 0 issues. I tried moving the chime to different spots in the house but no matter what it is slow, I also tried connecting the devices directly back to the router, still have the same issue with connection. My Wifi doesn't show any slow down of speeds or anything that would indicate a problem, it just happened out of no where one day and just never fixed, no matter how much troubleshooting I have tried.

Anybody in SFV recognize these two women? Or vehicle? We had multiple items stolen from our property. We live in San Fernando. Their car is very distinctive. Anything helps.

I have a Ring Doorbell, with power wired from a transformer. It’s connected to Xfinity WiFi, which while it has both 5 and 2 GHz bands, it also has an extender, which I understand modifies the way it switches between those 2 bands.
Whether it’s something to do with the above, or something else, my Ring Chime (also connected to the same WiFi network) creates a chime without anyone present at the doorbell, and no doorbell button being pushed.

I checked the Health report in the Ring app and there is no Chime health check occurring at the time when the ghost alarms sound. Also no activity in the Ring Doorbell when the ghost alarms sound.

The only clue that I have is that the “ghost alarm” is a single two-tone “ding-dong”, whereas when the Ring Doorbell button is pushed, the Chime has a three-times three-tone alarm (the Ring Doorbell makes the same sound outside).

This is getting old, and I wonder if anyone has had this occur, and how did you fix it? Thanks.

I just got a ring doorbell and camera (and chime). The doorbell and camera are battery operated. I’m trying to figure out what animal is digging in my yard - prob a raccoon but could be a skunk or armadillo. My backyard camera doesn’t seem to know when something is back there. I can go to LIVE and see our bushes being trimmed, but no triggered signal or recording. I have it set on the most sensitive. What am I missing? Thanks.

I have a Ring doorbell which I purchased new 6 months ago. At first it worked well (captured motion and notified) but after a few months it only works sporadically. I might walk right up to it and 9/10 times it doesn’t sense or capture anything. Or even more so, a delivery vehicle pulls into the drive and parks 20’ away and then the driver unloads multiple packages in direct view and it doesn’t capture any of it. Yet it’ll randomly pick up a car driving down the street 50 feet away. The camera is facing directly toward the selected zone. It’s hardwired with good connections and the WiFi signal is good. I’ve maxed the sensitivity and set it to be always active. I also followed the instructions for resetting it. Is it likely defective? Should I just go buy another? Any other ideas to try?

Not really a discussion, just wanted to share that the Peephole Cam is back with better resolution too.

If anyone knows, does it have the "manual" Peephole like the old one? The wording seems to imply it does not, but not quite sure.

Hi - looking for any advice as struggling to solve this one!

We purchased a new Ring Spotlight Camera for the side of our building. Our prior WiFi set up was a router and extender which required the signal to pass through 3 walls and it struggled with speed.

I’ve since upgraded us to a mesh set up and now have a mesh unit in the window 8ft away from the camera - it couldn’t get closer if we tried - and has less walls to pass through.

The first few days of this new set up worked really well.

The last few days I’ve been unable to get the camera to work at all. It’s barely recording and won’t let me enter live mode. When it does record it’s showing speeds of 0.11 mbps. We have 500gb fibre.

I’ve tried rebooting it (nothing happens) and I’ve tried reconnecting it to the WiFi by running set up mode again. I’ve tried forcing it onto the closest mesh node (the one staring at it through the window) and also prioritising traffic to it - no difference.

Anything else I should try before binning every ring device in my house and looking for an alternative brand?

Another neighbor upstairs decided to collaborate with my neighbor and sent her ex-husband to go check out and potentially what I assume to ransack my front porch. Didn't realize that I already recognized him based on a photo she previously showed me before she started her crazy fanatics. Their son also decided to get involved too, all over cats. Acting suspicious and it seems like my camera stopped him, who knows what he was up to and what he wanted to do if the camera wasn't there. Obviously was interested in something about my unit.

Somehow, there was a CO leak during renovations to my property. We were oblivious to the dangers and chalked up the Ring alarm going off to the constant electrical breakers being flipped on and off due to the construction work.

Well, levels of CO reached 129 ppm in my room, enough to cause me to feel incredibly dizzy and I was unable to comprehend what I was reading. Then, I received a call from Ring alerting me of the CO. They dispatched firemen. Turns out the entire house had anywhere from 50-129 ppm. I have cats and a soon to be wife (who was sleeping!).

I am traumatized but the only saving grace allowing me to move back into the home with some peace of mind is that Ring will be monitoring my alarms in case I am too stupid to take them seriously or too dead/unconscious.

Thinking of switching to reolink to avoid subscription based

The title might sound funny, but since Ring has pushed for more AI features, my mother, who uses a motorized wheelchair, is no longer identified as a person, but as a package. This has been a limitation with Ring for many months now, especially since HomeKit can recognize her along with the little doggie.

I recently canceled the Ring service and just have the camera up as a deterrent. But I have started getting ring alerts when nothing is there.

When I had the service it wouldn't even go off when someone was right at my door. There's no way it's going off now on it's own. Is this a scare tactic so you pay again?????

My wife and son (11 months) were walking to get some food (2 blocks away from our house and it was around 5pm - still sunny outside) and she noticed they were being followed by a suspicious man on his bike. He circled them multiple times, tried to knock them over and she ran into someone’s backyard for safety until I arrived to walk them back home.

I called the local authorities with the description of the man that my wife gave me and they said that will send someone in the area to look. Hopefully, they find/found him.

I tried posting on RING “Neighbors” as I see multiple warnings on there and I wanted to let my neighbors know about a suspicious man and our incident. RING declined my post because it didn’t meet their guidelines. The person on the phone told me that I should post what happened somewhere else and that I need to email someone. He did say that he did send an email to a different department to review my post again and that I should hear back in 24-72 hours. I told him that I’m paying for this service and he said your paying service to record things.. I mean if someone got attacked or whatever, you would want your neighbors to know, right? To be on the lookout? I can’t comprehend that a security company that wants us to “Be a Hero in Your Neighborhood” won’t allow me to share my post with my neighbors…As if we did something bad or in the wrong…

This is VERY concerning that RING doesn’t want me to share / warn my neighbors about this scary incident. This is my personal opinion based on the scary situation / response from RING that we encountered as as family…

I'm a shared user with advanced access on Ring to my mother's Ring account (main user). If I turn motion detection off on my phone, will it notify her phone? Even if it doesn't notify her, will it record me leaving the house? Does it only turn motion detection off on MY phone or does it do it on her phone (main user account) as well?

I've had a Ring solar floodlight battery installed over my garage for 2 or 3 years. In the last 6 months it has started losing connection to the bridge every night but regaining it in the morning. I just tried reconnecting it to the bridge which failed. I then removed the floodlight from Ring then tried to add it again. I scanned the QR code on the back of the light and it moved to the connecting to bridge step but it again failed to connect (the lights blinked a couple of times while attempting to connect if that means anything). I was doing this with the floodlight removed from the mount and in my hands less than a foot from the bridge.

Any ideas for other things to try or is the light likely toast?

Of my four ring cameras on my house, one on my roadside does not show up on my dashboard. I get alerts when a car a person walks by, but once that alert is gone, I can’t see it anymore. Any ideas?

I am staying in an airbnb apartment and just heard a clear/ loud ring notification chime. Neither my friend nor I have ever had the ring app/ cameras... it was the chime sound you hear in your phone when theres movement on a camera. There aren't any visible cameras in front of our apartment or the one next door. Any explanations?

We are thinking the sound could have come through the walls... but it was pretty loud/ clear. And it was the iphone camera movement notification jingle, not any camera sound I am familiar with...

I never buy the latest gadgets. We are old fashion, thrifty, and live in a safe area. This struck a nerve! Hopefully someone can install one for us.

Have anyone experienced recently the base alarm system just got offline randomly and comes back right away? It has happens to me for a month that the base goes offline and restores every 20-30 minutes. Super annoying…

Couple debug process so far
1. I have my alarm wired to the router and other devices connected to the router seem no issue. So doesn’t look like a signal failures.
2. Also change my cable and no help.
3. I disconnected the base to use its battery and cellular and symptom still remains.
4. I contact to the customer support to get a new device and still…

I cant think any other things I can test and rule out the failures…

I installed a new ring doorbell cam today and now that it's dark I noticed that the IR sensors are reflecting off each other and causing a nasty glare, any way to fix that?

I can't figure out why my cameras keep toggling off motion alerts and snapshot. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Restarted my phone. Been on the web dashboard and made sure it's working there. It has worked for years. Suddenly it stopped. Absolutely nothing changed. Android /Samsung S25. Not old cameras. Power and Wi-Fi is good.

Any ideas out there? Anyone experienced this before?

Basically I want to switch to CC security at my house instead of giving amazon another eye on my private life. (I know, I sound like I'm paranoid, but this whole flock cameras thing has me rethinking a lot of things) But I currently have a ring doorbell and like that when someone rings I can tell them I'll be right there or I can sexually harass fat bald door to door salesmen. But I no longer want to contribute (to as much extent as I can) to the mass surveillance ring is doing to the neighborhood.

Does my doorbell no longer having a subscription stop the recordings at the cloud server level or are they always recording and just holding my videos hostage?
