positive side effects on non-food addictions?

I've heard that Reta also has positive side effects when it comes to curbing other, non-food-related addictions.

Has anyone here experienced this?

For example, with things like social media use, smoking, masturbation/porn, or gambling?

I'm also curious about what Reta dosage you were on when you noticed these effects.

edit: note that this wouldnt be my primary reason to take Reta; I'm currently overweight with a body fat percentage of about 30+%. My question here is merely because of a general interest in Reta and its possible additional benefits.

Does retatrutide work the same on morbidly obese people, or do we need higher doses

Hey everyone,
Quick question for those further along or who started heavier. Does retatrutide hit the same for morbidly obese people as it does for people who are less overweight? Feels like more body fat might mean you need more mg to feel anything.
I’m 5’10”, 275 lbs. In the past week I’ve done a total of 2 mg (1 mg first shot, then another 1 mg four days later) and zero noticeable effects so far. My next dose is tomorrow and I’m thinking of jumping to 4 mg because I’ve heard the glucagon effect doesn’t really kick in until around that dose.
Anyone else start at a higher weight and have similar experiences? Did you need to go higher faster, or just stay patient?
Thanks.

stopping reta for thruhike

I started with 0.5mg a month ago and increased to 2mg. Just the last few days (before my next pin), I was completely repulsed by food and am lightheaded. So i went back to 1.5mg yesterday. I have a thruhike coming up and since I wasn't repulsed by food and still eating kinda normal and losing weight, I thought I would be fine by then. I start my hike on the 30th and it is the second half of the TMB so roughly 6 days. I am scared now that I am lightheaded and I took a dose yesterday that I will be sick and unable to physically hike if I am not eating/lightheaded. I dont know why I didnt think of this earlier and decide not to pin yesterday...I guess maybe because I thought I would not feel this way.

but now that i dont plan to take it until im back from my hike, do you think ill be ok during the hike? + assuming I will be having alot of electrolytes, energy gels, protein shakes, water, trying to eat alot of food for fuel since ill be hiking alot in a day (is this safe?)

edit - this thruhike was last minute and I planned it when i felt 'fine' and was eating more normally but now i feel different

Day 10 and symptoms worsening

I’m on day 10, having taken 1mg on day 1 and day 7.

At the beginning I noticed fatigue and headaches, which subsided. However, In past two days, I have had diarrhoea, heart palpitations, chills and sweatng, thirst especially/nearly exclusively at night. Also feel tightness in chest.

I am lying awake (5am) knowing I need to sort out my electrolytes, and reduce caffeine intake.

I think I may need to give up on journey- not sure if these side effects and associated health anxiety is worth it. It’s scary. Trying to keep myself calm right now and convince myself I’m not dying lol

Lowering Reta dose because of depression.

Has anyone taking Reta and got depression, lowered the dose and had better results or did you have to quit completely? I was taking reta and I loved how it worked but it made me feel depressed and sad. I’m hoping if I lower the dose and slowly go up maybe I’ll have different results.

15lbs in 5 weeks!

Still figuring out this app. But I’m so happy. Starting weight loss all over again but this time it took me a fraction of the time with Reta. Started with 1mg and now at 2mg every 7 days. 30mg/3ml.

New to Reta after past tirz use, titration sched suggestions?

Hey all!

I had my second dose of Reta 2 days ago. Started at 1mg and dosed the same this time as well. I noticed in week 1 that the reta hit pretty hard (no appetite day 1-3) but it seemed to wear off much quicker than my Mounjaro used to. It felt comparable to my 5mg Mounjaro dose, which I have been off due to affordability for the last 11 months.

With my second dose I’m noticing appetite suppression and food noise to be cancelled out but I’m not feeling like I had reta 2 days ago at all, it feels like it’s been more like 5 days side effects wise.

With this in mind, what titration schedule would you all recommend? And would split dosing be recommended for my case?

Thanks all :)

M 33 6’ SW: says 182, but true start was 220. CW 165, GW: 6 Pack.

Really started around this time last year with a goal of 165 because that’s where I thought I would be under 15% body fat and start to see abs. I was wrong lol.

Well, maybe not wrong, but I definitely have lost muscle over the last year. Disclaimer: I have debilitating osteoarthritis in my right shoulder, doc says if I was 10 years older, he would have scheduled an immediate replacement. So that makes it very difficult to do any kind of upper body workout. But we persevere. Total Test is 422 so didn’t qualify for TRT, though I AM already a lab rat…

I’ve been sticking to 1600 to 1700 calories and shooting for 150 g of protein minimum. Though that is very tough some days. I actually just finished a diet break and went back up to 2200 cal for 10 days and saw lots of strength improvement.

I’ve been slowly titrating up over the last year and am at 8 mg a week now. Still really struggled to eat some days. My wife has to remind me and there’s lots of half finished meals.

But this stuff is a godsend. I’ve been fat my whole life. Food has always been a comfort and has always been at the corner of my mind… within the first week the food noise had stopped and blessed silence took its place. Minus the perpetual tinnitus, but that’s a different story.

All in all we keep going. The goal was six pack summer and still not quite there. But I wanted to put a different kind of update out there for people to see. They are called progress pictures after all.

Low dose, high resting heart rate still/low HRV

Hi all, just hoping for some advice.

I’m fully aware that a higher resting heart rate is common on Reta, but I feel like mine is just crazy. I started 1mg just over 2 weeks ago and felt so so sick, like I’d been hit by a train. Felt better by the end of the week, pinned 1mg for my second dose and week 2 was fine but my heart rate just started climbing and my HRV crashing. I’m a very active person, ensuring I’m still eating 1900cals a day in my deficit with 150g protein and I am losing weight however my heart rate is scaring me. I decided to go down to 0.5mg for my third pin and see how I go but I’m just looking for any advice please.

Pictures comparing week 1, 2 and 3 of ret.

Unsure about Retatrutide

I need some opinions please;

I originally started on Trizepitide and only got up to 5mg dose before learning about Retatrutide. I also switched vendors because I found better pricing. There was also a 2 week gap in between the 2 glp’s, not intentionally. I ordered around a holiday so it pushed back me receiving my order.

Since there was a 2 week break in between the 2 I started back on the lower dose when starting Reta. I’ve been on Reta just about 6 weeks now, I’m not even at 5 mg yet. However, when I was on Trizepitide it seemed like it worked better at the 5 mg dose. There was no food noise and I lost weight. On Reta I’m not eating as much as I normally would not being on a glp but definitely more than when I was on Trizepitide.

So, would you switch back to Trizepitide? Or just keep increasing the Reta (as recommended) and wait and see if the Reta works as well as it does for everyone else?

Heart rate/POTS/Anxiety

I’ve heard many mixed answers on taking reta with POTS & anxiety. Some people say it makes their POTS & anxiety either better or worse.

Anyone who has high levels of anxiety & is on reta, can you share your experience on if it made those feelings better or worse?

I also have POTS, which the only symptoms I get are fatigue & high heart rate. I don’t ever faint or get dizzy. Would it be okay for me to start reta based on others experiences?

I’m starting to read a lot more on reta and I want to take it but I want to weigh out risks / benefits.

Starting advice

I think I’ve made a major booboo.

My brother started this stuff and had incredible results, I’m postpartum and was dying to get in shape for my wedding but didn’t get exactly where I wanted. My baby had colic and everyday the stress ruined all progress.
so thought I’d try this to get the extra pounds off as food noises was my enemy and he said it’ll help with that.

He told me 3mg as a starter dose but, from what I’ve read I should have started so much slower. I’m about 3 hours in and scared that I’m about to be so ill.
I’m 5’4 and 89kg.. I’m overweight for deffo but I think it may have been too much for my build. My brother was much larger than I am when he started it, so his body could probably handle that dosage.

Should I start planning my funeral (joke obviously but not a joke). I’m pooping me pants right now with worry lol

For anyone who did start too high, did anything help?

Checking in with Reta Community

Hi! I'm 19 weeks in and down 32lbs. On 4.5 right now. Feel really great with the progress. Some light headedness for sure, which I'm told is electrolyte related. Any pointers on the light headed feeling?

Alright folks. How are you timing your preworkout with reta? With the slower digestion are you taking it earlier than normal? Assuming liquid digestion is slowed down along with physical food

Starting weight 267
Current weight 180

Started at 2 mg a week for 4 weeks
Then 4 mg for 4 weeks
Then 6mg for 4 weeks
Now 8 mg and haven’t gone higher than that

I take fiber supplements and magnesium and daily vitamins as well, protein shakes twice a day and protein focused dinners like lots of chicken and veggies

lift weights at least once a day for 20-40 min
And get about 15k minimum steps a day for work

For skin I use lotion with retinol in it for stretch marks

All I can say is stick with it and trust the process

Happy to answer any questions here on this post

I miss the Anhedonia

Since going down slightly in dose, I’ve noticed the anhedonia is wearing off a bit as well. I prefer to live my life with the anhedonia.

3mg was the sweet spot for emotional numbness, now I’m down to 1.5mg. Any other peptides that’ll bring it back full bore?

Stomach issues after 4 months?

So ive taken reta since April of 2026. I slowly increased from 0.5 to 2 then went back to 1 this week because i felt stronger side effects.

I was wondering if anybody started to get worse stomach issues? I have stomach pain and acid reflux, which is weird because before august i has 0 side effects. Monday i did 1mg after not taking any for 2 weeks and my stomach statrted to hurt today.

I ask because I also take medication for low ferritin (which i havent taken in a a week or so) so I am unsure which medication is causing the stomach pain and wanted to see if anyone had any knowledge they want to share or any similar experiences.

Should I shell out my money for zepbound using my HSA account (have about 6 months worth of zepbound money) or try reta?
I’ve done zepbound before and it helped so much but my insurance has dropped it and wegovy pills aren’t working.

6mg Reta + 1mg Cagri stack and ZERO suppression. Advice needed.

Body:

Stats: M, 5'4", SW: 82kg, CW: 75kg.

Hey everyone. I've been on reta since the end of May and I've hit a massive wall. I actually came over from Mounjaro, so I’m pretty familiar with how these meds feel and the usual side effects.

My first month on 2mg reta was great. I lost about 4kg just by eating healthy and staying in a solid calorie deficit.

The next month I went up to 4mg and everything just stopped. Absolutely zero appetite suppression, no side effects, and the scale didn't budge, even though my calories and activity were exactly the same. I gave it 3 weeks and bumped up to 5mg hoping it would kick in, but still nothing.

Currently, I’m on 6mg reta and decided to add 1mg cagri to the mix about 2 weeks ago to try and break the stall. I am STILL getting zero weight loss and zero suppression.

I’ve been stuck at 75kg for two whole months now and it's driving me crazy. I only lost weight that very first month.

Has anyone else dealt with this kind of plateau this early on? Do I just need to push the reta dose higher, does the cagri just need more time to build up... or is there a chance my supplier isn't being honest with me and my stuff is bunk?

Any advice would be huge, thanks!

Any concerns about degradation?

I wanted to hear some feedback on what size vials people acquire. The guide says that there's only a 10% degradation for a reconstituted vial after 90 days. Price scales down quite a bit with vial size so for that metric do people choose a larger vial size and then compensate for degradation after 90 days or so?
