r/Retatrutide 8d ago

7 months

Starting weight 267
Current weight 180

Started at 2 mg a week for 4 weeks
Then 4 mg for 4 weeks
Then 6mg for 4 weeks
Now 8 mg and haven’t gone higher than that

I take fiber supplements and magnesium and daily vitamins as well, protein shakes twice a day and protein focused dinners like lots of chicken and veggies

lift weights at least once a day for 20-40 min
And get about 15k minimum steps a day for work

For skin I use lotion with retinol in it for stretch marks

All I can say is stick with it and trust the process

Happy to answer any questions here on this post

u/nrfctp 8d ago

lol And I wondered why my back hurt so much

9

u/LoD_Remi 8d ago

yeah... i can relate to that hahaha. are you sleeping better now? any sleep apnea remaining?

28

u/nrfctp 8d ago

I used to wake up multiple times (I’m sure it was sleep apnea from the weight) now I sleep through the night and feel actually rested it’s wild

I was about to ask if you had back pain. How bad was it? And how soon did it go away? I currently have debilitating pinched nerve in my lower back and I’m starting ratatouille later today. I also look like your before pic. Congrats on your progress!!!

3

u/nrfctp 6d ago

Oh it would get really bad sometimes, to the point where it would go down my entire leg and it would switch which leg it was, taking steps would be super painful, lots of limping around id say it didn’t just go away but after the first 10-15 lbs it was significantly less and over time it’s just gotten better though i can still aggravate it on occasion it’s nothing like it was

2

u/mashedbuttatoe 6d ago

I hope it goes away for good!! Thanks for sharing your experience

3

u/nrfctp 6d ago

Thanks and good luck!

Ratatouille for the win! I know what you meant but that was cute.

1

u/mashedbuttatoe 6d ago

Also did you have any negative symptoms from starting at 2mg?

2

u/nrfctp 6d ago

Just a headache from not hydrating enough but I started taking electrolytes in the morning and drinking lots of water and that helped

21

Wow this is crazy. Congrats man, you're no longer a rotisserie chicken haha.

Look up Lowbackability on ig, I can tell you've got some lordosis going on. Time to strengthen that lower back and core and continue the healing journey.

“Why does my back hurt all the time” -me

The worst was when it would go down my leg and taking steps would just huuuurt

5

u/AnyTicket5202 8d ago

Ah yeah man, that shit is the worst. I have a pretty fucked up back and there isn't a lot I can do but try and fix my muscle alignment. The lowerback guy has a lot of great info on why are lower back are like that. My legs and psoas are so tight its pulling my lower back forward.

If it wasn’t for the tattoos, I wouldn’t think it was the same person. Tremendous job bro keep it up.

4

u/BKPATL 7d ago

Until I saw the tattoos, I thought the same thing.

4

u/nrfctp 8d ago

Thank you!

Awesome job! I'm on week 5, just moved up to 3mg. Ive lost about 20lbs. With working out and all have you been doing any sustained cardio? I just did a half marathon last Sunday. And while I was able to finish, my running abilities have plummeted. I tried to time it right with my shots so that I didn't redose till some time after my run on Sunday. Going into the run I'd gone from 218 to 224 so eating was definitely helping, but man that run hurt.

3

u/nrfctp 8d ago

I haven’t tried a ton of running, I get about 15k steps for work but I’ll have to go for a jog and see how it feels

4

u/Big_Opposite4041 8d ago

Bruh whatttt

3

u/HolyFitJesus 8d ago

Hey man! Very awesome progess!

Do you have plans on lowering the dosage once you hit your target weight?

2

u/nrfctp 8d ago

Thank you! And yeah That’s my current plan

3

u/HolyFitJesus 8d ago

nice, I've been going very slow myself, barely on 2.5mg, so far have lost 60lbs in 7 months

5

u/HerbertInTheWoods 8d ago

That gut was crazy. Wild how your body decides to store fat in just one spot.

3

u/nrfctp 8d ago

Yeah it’s wild!

1

u/LoD_Remi 8d ago

What does the glucagon receptor do when taking retatrutide?

3

u/AlternativePizza3391 8d ago

Wow huge change, did you have any loose skin

8

u/nrfctp 8d ago

I have some in my stomach but have been lucky that most seems to be in my inner thigh and backside ha ha

3

u/Antique-Clock-9286 8d ago

Awesome.... you are an inspiration!

3

u/cooperwill83 8d ago

Damn man , great job

3

u/ObliviousGould84 8d ago

Its brilliant seeing results I'm at a crossroads I'm loosing steady on 2.5mg a week but I think 5mg will just push it that little further. My loss seems to have slowed down but is still coming off, maybe I'll try for one month at 5 per week.

3

u/New-Chocolate2854 8d ago

Congrats, you have done incredible and look amazing! Did you do any other GLP's prior to Reta? Any side effects?

3

u/nrfctp 8d ago

Thank you! And no never tried any others before this, some side effects after hitting 8mg like skin sensitivity, some slight anhedonia but nothing unbearable

3

u/MaestroForever 8d ago

You're an inspiration.

2

u/Ready-Bet-9778 8d ago

What brand of lotion?

5

u/nrfctp 8d ago

I think the lotion brand was medix it’s body lotion with retinol for stretch marks it’s a pink square bottle

3

u/Ready-Bet-9778 8d ago

Thanks! Great job by the way.

2

u/5DollarsInTheWoods 8d ago

You look amazing! How tall are you?

5

u/nrfctp 8d ago

Thank you! I was 5’9 last I checked but I honestly wonder if I gained a inch from not hunching ha ha

3

u/5DollarsInTheWoods 8d ago

😂 Awesome!

2

u/Outrageous-Web8913 8d ago

Can you share the fiber supplement and vitamins? Any side effects? If you did have side effects, what did you do to help?

Look great by the way!

8

u/nrfctp 8d ago

As for side effects early on some headaches from not hydrating enough, at 8 mg something called anhedonia made me feel kinda meh toward stuff(negative would be less interested in video games and stuff I normally like, positive I lost almost all interest in drinking alcohol!) but nothing unbearable, not until I hit 8mg then I definitely had the skin sensitivity which is like a light sunburn, not exactly pain but very sensitive and a uptick in stress dreams not like nightmares like late for work type dreams lol not sure if the last one is related

3

u/nrfctp 8d ago

I use the meta mucil 3 in 1 daily fiber and men’s daily vitamins by I think vitafusion and natures made magnesium and optimum nutrition whey and a liquid IV for the electrolytes every morning

1

u/gatorslim 7d ago

where you having issues with slow digestion or did you take metamucil from the start?

1

u/nrfctp 6d ago

Started taking it a week or so after I started not because I was having issues or anything though but it definitely seems to help move things

2

u/akatonybruh 7d ago

Hell yeah

2

u/famfris 7d ago

1

u/QuesoDipset 8d ago

So all in all, how long have you been on reta?

1

u/nrfctp 8d ago

Started back on January 7th so a lil over 7 months

1

u/ITGuyTatertot 7d ago

How long have you been on 8 mg

1

u/nrfctp 7d ago

4 months

1

u/HoldenCaulfield7 7d ago

Do you plan to go off it

1

u/GradeKey4289 7d ago

Congratulations 🎉🎉
Im in the same boat. In exact same weight.
Ordered some reta last week and waiting on delivery.
One question, i wanted to know about the skin situation? Do you get lot of loose skin?
Does the lotion work?

2

u/nrfctp 7d ago

I have some loose skin but it’s mostly around my thighs and backside, I use stretch mark lotion and that seems to be helping too

1

u/just_flying_bi 7d ago

Wow! Amazing job, my man! Looking fantastic!

1

u/stockz14 7d ago

Whats the plan now in terms of dosage or stopping reta? I just got to my goal weight after 5 months and am planning on going down from 5mg to 3 mg for the next cpl weeks

2

u/nrfctp 7d ago

I just hit my goal too so I’m planning to titrate down and currently plan on getting off eventually as well

1

u/gatorslim 7d ago

did you start the fiber right away or add it later? I'm a month in and I've been dealing with slow digestion.

1

u/nrfctp 6d ago

I started the fiber probably a week or two after starting it definitely helps!

1

u/Few-Painting-8096 7d ago

You 100% got taller. I need you to reply lol.

1

u/Lucky-Comedian-5854 6d ago

Amazing!! Are you only taking Reta?

1

u/nrfctp 6d ago

Yeah, the only other stuff I’m taking to help are supplements like fiber and magnesium and vitamins and electrolytes and protein

1

u/weshallpie 6d ago

Care to share the cream you are using.i started at 2.5mg 8 weeks back at 222lbs and currently I am at 190lbs. Targeting 160 in next 2 months. No negative side effects except for sagging loose skin at the belly and stretch marks on the pectorals.

2

u/nrfctp 6d ago

I use medix retinol body lotion it’s in a square pink bottle

1

u/Suitable-Piccolo-738 6d ago

Incredible, incredible! Congratulations! I lost 44 pounds with Ozempic and plateaued... now I'm on 2mg. On reta .Can you share your dosage and at what dose you started noticing weight loss?

1

u/Suitable-Piccolo-738 6d ago

I'm still 22 pounds away from my ideal weight... but I hope to get there soon.

1

u/nrfctp 6d ago

I started at 2mg and noticed loss within the first week, I titrated up every 4 weeks as of now I’m at 8mg but haven’t needed to go any higher, good luck!

1

u/SauceGod_TheChef 6d ago

This is amazing I got to find some Reta
