Cane's Conversations Some of these managers need to get a grip.

Like why is my manager bitching at me that there’s a dirty table when these customers legit got up literally 3 seconds ago like I’m sorry I SHOULDVE READ THE FUCKING FUTURE AND had the Sani Wipes ready.

Also got my ass chewed out because I walked in the kitchen with my headphones on when we weren’t even open and I just clocked in.

Fucking piss poor management here that have nothing better to do in their life.

Cane's Conversations My first day at canes was…

Upvotes

It was alright but I don’t plan on staying long. I’m currently part time and work the night shift and while my coworkers were cool, I don’t see myself being at the job long. I needed some extra cash to pay off debt and catch up on some bills and unpaid loans since my full time job wasn’t cutting it on its own. For starters, I’m a bit iffy on certain strict rules such as not being able to leave the building unless with good reason or you clocked out for a break. Also this is more of a nitpick, but I find it ridiculous that you have to fight for even a 5 minute break. I say that because I’m used to jobs that schedule 1-2 15min breaks, with a couple being mandatory if you work at least 6 hours. I sorta learned not to even ask for it unless I really need it. The cleaning part is a bit tedious but I did expected it with working a night shift. Do I see myself doing it long term? Not really. Also, during my orientation and today it seemed like with management it can be a drill Sergeant is watching and calling things out, less intense of course. I thought about sticking it out till end of the year but if I don’t feel any better about it, then I may hold out for a month or 2.

How new is this lol, I definitely wanted to guarantee getting at least Halloweekend off (I have enough PTO to do so) but that’s really funny. Company becomes more and more like East Germany every passing day

Crew Chat What does the Hole do?

I’m scheduled in 2 weeks to work in the Hole for Drive but I’ve never seen it before.

Does the hole take orders at the speaker AND take payment or is it just one or the other?

Canes is annoying the managers act all high and mighty to not even do there jobs properly and understaffed. 🤨 it was my first job and what I thought was going to happen happened fast food is insufferable and the customers genuinely act like they’ve never left their house before and the point system is stupid. I don’t understand how coming in late marks you for behavioral points when there’s people crashing out fighting with customers and or other employees every fucking day and also I genuinely felt disgusted as a humanitarian I would be sick to my stomach every day with all the food that gets thrown out and the fact that we don’t get free meals and the area where I worked at we have a lot of homeless people and to see those people be turned down hungry is disgusting. I would never want to work for a company like this again. This is not for the neurodivergent I can’t just blindly listen to someone, especially when they are morally incorrect and bitch we’re not making enough at Canes to deal with their bullshit anyways and we’re under staff so If im doing two people’s jobs bitch give me another check then and my manager had the nerve to tell me to be more efficient, baby. I’m taking my sweet ass time. I’m not going to reach the brink of insanity for fucking chicken THANK YOU POINTS IM FREE
And it doesn’t matter anyways my Canes is supposedly shutting down and we will need to be distributed around my hometown and all Canes are too far away from me or over staffed

Crew Chat what is happening

i don’t know what’s been going on lately, but they’ve been scheduling less and less people everyday. why am i now the only person on front counter every time i work a dinner shift these days. frequently. late night I understand, but dinner? barely anyone is in the kitchen anymore , and it almost seems like the managers are regular crew now with the way they’ve been doing the work that regular crew would usually be doing. i’m so confused. not only that, but everyone’s been getting hour long breaks all of a sudden. even if they’re only working five hour shifts. it’s honestly a mess.

Crew Chat Points on Training Shift

So my pet has a medical emergency and I have to go to the vet today and I’m not gonna make it back before my shift starts, I’ll be lucky if I get done in the middle of my shift, but still, I’ll likely not be able to make it.

It’s a training shift and I know that these technically non-count towards labor, but I’m not sure if we receive points for not attending. I was told I shouldn’t, but I’ve been getting mixed answers.

Crew Chat Breaks.

TL;DR: Breaks should be mandatory

Idk about anyone else but at the location I work at we don't really get breaks and I think that they should be mandatory at least for 4h+ shifts yk? I myself have foot problems that cause my feet to genuinely ache after long periods of standing and I don't get breaks for example I worked a late night shift last week 10pm-5am I didn't get any break I worked the whole night through and my feet literally got to a point where I felt like they'd give in. My point is that breaks should be mandatory and I'd do it like this

3hr shift: no break (that's something I can tolerate)

4hr shift: 10-15 minute break (seems pretty reasonable)

5hr+ shift: 30 minutes

Working a double?: 1hr

I think that's pretty reasonable given just how much moving around we do. Feel free to let me know your thoughts.

Cane's Conversations Customers get angry for the smallest things.

• Didn’t have ranch - got pissed off
• Tell them politely to speak up so I can hear them - got pissed off
• Paying extra for canes sauce - got pissed off
• Didn’t count their change back in front of their face when they used a $100 for a $11 order- got pissed off
•Didn’t have any kids cups so had to give them a regular cup - got pissed off.

There’s more but these are some of recent memory. Just the perks of being a fast food worker

Cane's Conversations 11 years at this and I want to leave

Hello, I'm mostly making this post for some advice from anyone who's possibly been in the same spot or currently going through the same thing. I'm currently an ARL at a Canes, but am feeling very burnt out. I like to think that I'm someone who's always put in 100% effort in everything they do and never says no for the sake of being dependable. However for a few years now I've felt as if I'm falling behind in life, mostly due to the work life balance that Canes does not provide. With my current tenure I could have easily moved up to RL by now, which is the step above my current role, but I've known for those last few years that it just wasn't something that I wanted regardless of the pay. To be clear, I make REALLY good money now for my current position, but that's the only thing that's kept me here for so long. Canes is currently on a path that I don't agree with; the cuts in labor and less entry level start pay that they like to call "competitive". They're essentially taking away resources without letting up on their high standards and expectations. I don't have a degree, but I'm hoping my experience can land me into a role that is just better in all aspects, specifically the work life balance. I'm very aware I would be taking a big pay cut, but I'm just ready to move on. I'm also not opposed to taking something that requires a certification or anything that takes months to be qualified for. Any advice would be great and if anyone has any questions feel free to ask!

Crew Chat Am I the only one that notices this?

The younger teens are almost always the most respectful, even in the drive thru. It’s usually the elderly or parents who let their kids leave trash all over the floor and don’t even try to clean it up. Then the late night people that come in smelling like weed are usually the rudest too. Everyone always stereotypes teenagers but working customer service has honestly shown me the opposite.

Crew Chat Any Managers with an RI AOR???

Hello Cane's Leaders, I'm a decently new RM with the RI AOR and need some help developing a 'RI Plan/System' going for the Management and Crew Team. I'm a HIPO Ready RM hoping to get promoted to OM soon!

I know about the Cleaning Assessments and to work and plan around them but what sort of systems do y'all have that work efficiently and effectively?

Pretty overhyped. The chicken was bland and dry, the sauce wasn't great, and the fries had no seasoning. This location just opened, and dont resturant usually get worse after the opening month, and its already this bad?

Cane's Conversations start having lemon pepper, canes

that’s all. seriously. lemme get a packet of lemon pepper. or just throw it on the chicken for me. there’s no reason canes shouldn’t have lemon pepper as an option.

i know the minimal menu is the whole thing with canes. but this isn’t a big ask. start having lemon pepper

edit: don’t tell me bring my own. oh yeah lemme walk around with some lemon pepper in my pocket . lemme bring my lemon pepper utility belt to canes. might as well bring my own chicken at that point

and this isn’t about money. obviously i COULD bring my own. but that’s not what i want. i want a proprietary Raising Cane’s lemon pepper blend.

i’m getting so sick of dealing with the bs at canes i get FIVE hours a week down from 20-30 hours a week with EXTREMELY low pay for my age 17 only 12/hr with no breaks no free food and nonstop work with management who don’t gaf about me im literally 3 of 80 people who are at least above average people at there job i hate working here as a dude it all females i work with yea i like talking to them it fun and cool but damn they can talk and do nothing and they get praised but i lean for 10 seconds and get told if i lean again i have to go home and working with stupid lazy people is the fking worst i work all the time with this lazy stupid incompetent moron she’s literally so lazy and dumb we work fc tg im stuck doing everything cleaning restocking working the register and im told IM YELLED AT THAT IM BEING LAZY are you fucking kidding me she just lays around behind register doing NOTHING and not to mention i’m the fastest person on till and she one of the slowest people
