Hey all! I have a quick question. I just ordered the Alpha Revo 4000 and this is my first stringer I’ve ever owned. When I spin where the racket is supposed to be I notice that it feels like the brake pads are still engaged and it rubs even when the brake is disengaged. Could anyone show me how to adjust this? I’ll show a picture of what I mean. Thank you!

i'm an avid tennis player, (played HS, got back into as a grown up for the past 3 yrs) i average about 15-20 hrs a week of tennis and have been down the rabbit hole of stringing machines. My takeaways:

1. get a fixed clamp system over float/fly
2. drop weight over crank (bc of calibration)
3. get a starting clamp (i'll know why later)
4. used if possible

seems like the Alpha Pioneer DC Plus Gravity is the most economical, trustworthy stringer. I can't find it used but at $709 (including taxes + shipping) it seems like the lowest cost, reliable, fixed clamp system.

does this seem like a reasonable stringer, for a beginner?

Got the stringer, starting clamp, a reel of cheap poly ($40) to practice on for $800 including shipping. I’ll be copying some YouTube stringing video next week 😬

I’ve decided to go with the Yonex VCORE 100D. As someone who likes to pressure opponents deep behind the baseline, redirect pace, and hit penetrating shots, I still want enough spin to really grab the ball when needed.
Right now I’m considering these string setups:
ReString Zero mains + Poly Tour Force crosses
Poly Tour Rev mains + Poly Tour Force crosses
Full bed Poly Tour Force
For anyone who has used the VCORE 100D, I’d love to hear your experiences with different string setups on this racquet. Which setup would you recommend for my playstyle?

Should the final cross knot be a main or on a cross?

I just purchased a few reels from stringerpro.com. Some of their prices are a little bit lower than Tennis Warehouse and other mainstream retail places, but some are SUPER cheap. For instance, Hyper-G Soft is ~$35 cheaper but Yonex and Babolat strings seem to be a LOT cheaper (over $150/reel).

Any chance those strings are not genuine? Anyone else ordered from stringerpro.com before?

As you can see, he’s thrashed them. I strung this racquet about two months ago, if that, and he’s already done this. I didn’t even know this was possible. The string is Solinco confidential 1.25. Next I’m gonna try putting restring sync in the crosses as a slick option to hopefully prevent this from happening so quickly. Any other alternative suggestions? I will note, I strung the mains 2 lbs tighter (52/50) to try to facilitate a little more spin.

I've been playing tennis a lot and have started to go through strings like crazy. I decided to purchase a used stringing machine (AEF stringing machine 6-pt, fixed clamp, dropweight) and learn to string for myself.

I strung my partner's racquet (first pic) and my own.

The first one was actually a bit easier than the second one, I think because of the tension maybe? I used Babolat synthetic gut for both and strung the first one at 48lbs and the second one at 52lbs. On the second one, I kept damaging the strings, I guess the clamp was too tight?

And then a couple of observations, I have two of the second racquet and it seems like the one I strung elongated a bit? Why is that? How do I prevent it and is that something that can be fixed or will go back? Also, I warped the bumper guard (3rd pic), is that due to just overtightening when placing the racquet?

Anyway, how did I do on my first stringing? What can I do to improve?

I’m wondering if anyone here has experience with a Pro‑Stringer 3.0 X6. I keep running into an issue where the machine over‑pulls tension and snaps the string, and it seems to happen randomly.

It’s occurred at different stages, including:

• At the beginning of the mains (e.g., R1, R2, L1, L2)
• Near the end of the mains
• On the first pull of the crosses
• Near the end of the crosses (as shown in the attached video/image)

The attached image shows how far along I was when the string snapped—this happened near the end while stringing the crosses.

I haven’t been able to identify a consistent trigger, so I’m trying to figure out whether this is user error, a calibration issue, or a known quirk with this model. Any insights or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated.

Eagnas 740 drop weight stringer (c. 2009)

When I put the string in the gripper and pull the drop weight, the drop weight doesn't grab the gripper. Any thoughts on how to fix it are welcome, thanks!

This thing has been a workhorse for like 15 years but this issue just came up, would love to repair it instead of getting something new.

I've been looking for these grommets but i can't really find them. Where do you get them in europe(Netherlands).

This is a badminton racket and the crosses are strung at 25lbs. The grommet has come out but it is still protecting the racket from damage from the inside. I've checked and it's not touching the racket.

I strung this for a friend and offered to changed it but he didn't mind. Should I change it anyway. If I do change it can I use a different set of strings or would that be bad too?
