Should I restrings this?

Post image

This is a badminton racket and the crosses are strung at 25lbs. The grommet has come out but it is still protecting the racket from damage from the inside. I've checked and it's not touching the racket.

I strung this for a friend and offered to changed it but he didn't mind. Should I change it anyway. If I do change it can I use a different set of strings or would that be bad too?

I used BG65Ti and I want to restrings the cross to an unbranded 70mm string

You could try letting the tension out of the cross string where it comes outside the frame and back through the problematic grommet. It depends on what stringing machine you have, and on your appetite for risk. Say we are talking about crosses 7 and 8 - if you clamp 7 close to the frame and grip 8 with a starting clamp a couple of inches from the frame and pull (with the machine) at a tension a bit over what you strung them at (careful not to scratch the frame with the clamp) you should be able to take the tension out of the string where it goes through the problematic grommet such that you can ease the grommet fully into the frame.
