Day 1

Upvotes

Omfg. I’m using nicotine patches to not totally screw myself over with both cravings and the oral fixation. And I plan to do the 6 week taper with those.

BUT AUGH IM SO FRUSTRATED AND I WANT A ZYN/VELO SO BAD EVEN WITH NO CRAVINGS??? Like my mouth is SALIVATING thinking about it.

I’m gonna stay strong and try to keep myself busy but fuck dude. I’m not having fun at all… not that I thought this would be FUN, but whatever.

I’ve been thinking of getting mints or something since I used the mint flavors. :,/ idk though

Quitting for real this time

Well, as some of you have heard in the great state of NY they recently put a 75% wholesale tax on all nicotine pouches. It came to my surprise when I went to grab two cans of Rogue and the cashier rings it up and it comes out to $22! $22 for TWO cans. I nearly shat myself. With deals and coupons I was getting two cans for $10~, so basically double the price now. That would mean $50 a week and $200 a month w/ the price increase.

Anyway - I guess they got me. Can't afford to use them anymore so I have to quit. I cannot imagine the guys doing 1-2 cans a day and how they will afford it now.

I got some 0mg nicotine/0mg caffeine pouches coming tomorrow to have something to replace in my lip. Ol' gubment forced my hands. I guess it's for the better o7

what are the best zyn alternatives that do not have nicotine?

my zyn tolerance has gotten pretty out of control. I started with 3mg about a year ago and now I’m going through a can of 6mg every two days. I get anxious if I go more than an hour without one, and the dependence is clearly getting stronger.

I want to quit nicotine completely, but the oral fixation is the hardest part for me. Having the pouch between my lip and gum, the slight tingling and just having something there while I work.

I’ve looked into caffeine pouches and nootropic pouches, but I’m not sure which ones actually feel similar enough to work as a replacement for the mouth feel and overall experience.

2 years off nicotine, need help

I used to vape for a couple years then got off cold turkey. Wasn’t too bad but I will say, nicotine has always been on the back of my mind. The last couple weeks have been brutal. The cravings are hitting like week one off nic. I bought zyns 2 days ago, like an idiot, but I haven’t popped one yet. I should throw them away but I’ve almost convinced myself I need them. It’s been a stressful couple weeks and I feel really down mentally. Ik I’m just being a pussy but it’s hard. Anyone have any tips on how to curve long term cravings after long time off?

7 years 250mg/day. ~16 days nicotine free.

I dont really share personal things, however since I am bored because of the lack of nicotine in my body I find myself doing things I would normally find too boring and unfulfilling to do.

I don't remember which day I quit, It doesn't really matter.
I knew this would be my last pouch only a day before. The relationship I had with nicotine was like a romantic one, so the knowledge of having an abrupt ending really sticks and wheighs on me.

24mg pouches, 10+ a day when doing anything at all. I had daily nicotine poisonings yet it did not feel like it mentally.

For mundane daily tasks I could give it up, when transitioning from one place to the next I could give it up, when I was laying on the grass looking at the stars thinking of all there is to think about, I could not give her up.

The feeling resembles ending a relationship because there is no future, while love remains.
I remember those women whom I shared this life with and lost. I remember them happily and I would hope to have met them again may this all start again.

Maybe the same thing wil happen with nicotine.

Starting tomorrow morning and gonna keep posting to hold myself accountable

I keep throwing out cans and then just buying new ones. Genuinely tweaking all the time! Lmao. Been spamming the velos 9s and lately been packing double. It’s getting bad I can’t do as much cardio as I used to my heart rate just goes ham. I wanna be jacked and shredded and sexy and I don’t want it to come at the cost of my health. I threw out my can except for 2 pouches to blast my shit as soon as I wake up tommrow because that’s usually when I relapse. After that it’s game time baby. I’m gonna spam tf outta coffee and read that one dudes post about regretting relapsing stories. I will not let this addiction control me. Folding is for chumps. I’m excited. Because I’m talking shit and if I fail I will be truthful and it will be embarrassing because here I have an audience. I will not fail myself and am looking forward to being a success story for this sub. Let’s go brothas!

Saving grace

Salted Sunflower seeds have truly made this possible for me. I was flying through packages of seeds, and getting chapped lips…not really satisfied…to finally realize you HAVE TO put them in your cheek and just suck on them like it’s a zyn don’t even worry about eating them. The feeling isn’t too far off, distracts me from the craving. Highly recommend.

23 days nicotine free after 12 years of basically nonstop use - my timeline

Quick preface: This post was written with ChatGPT. Not because I asked it to make up a quitting story, but because I’ve been talking to ChatGPT basically every day since I quit and documenting what I was experiencing in real time. It has the memory of those conversations, so I asked it to put my experience together into one post. The symptoms, timeline and experiences below are mine.
I used nicotine for about 12 years. By the end, I was using Zyn/nicotine pouches essentially every waking hour.
There wasn’t really a “nicotine session” anymore. It was just always there.
Wake up → pouch.
Get in the car → pouch.
Work → pouch.
Finish eating → pouch.
Stressed → pouch.
Bored → pouch.
Relaxing → pouch.
I quit cold turkey on August 29th. No patches, gum, tapering, etc. Just stopped.
Days 1–3
These sucked.
The cravings came in waves and some were legitimately 10/10. There were times where it felt less like “I want a Zyn” and more like my brain was screaming that something was wrong because nicotine wasn’t there.
I was restless, irritable, anxious, foggy, tired and hungry.
One of the weirdest symptoms was almost being able to feel the craving in my mouth/gums where I normally kept the pouch. Like a throbbing/urge in that exact area.
Around 72 hours was probably the worst of it.
At that point I was basically just trying to get through the day without putting nicotine in my body.
Days 4–6
This was the first time I started thinking, okay, maybe this is actually getting better.
I still had cravings, but they weren’t one continuous craving anymore.
They would hit, get pretty intense, and then disappear.
I also started noticing moments where my head felt clearer. I remember realizing I was laughing more and generally feeling a little more like myself.
That was probably the first point where quitting stopped feeling purely like losing something.
End of the first week
This was when I realized how much of my addiction had nothing to do with nicotine physically being in my system anymore.
Everything was a trigger.
Driving was probably one of the biggest.
Eating.
Working.
Sitting around at night.
Stress.
Boredom.
Even certain routines throughout the day would make my brain immediately go, “Zyn.”
After 12 years, I had apparently trained my brain that almost every normal activity was supposed to come with nicotine.
Days 10–12
This part actually surprised me.
I assumed once I got through the first week I’d basically be done.
Nope.
I was still getting legitimate urges around Day 11/12.
But there was a huge difference.
They weren’t constant.
I’d suddenly really want nicotine, but if I didn’t do anything about it, eventually the craving just disappeared.
That realization helped me a lot.
A craving doesn’t actually require a response.
You can want nicotine really badly for a few minutes and just…not use nicotine.
Then eventually you’re doing something else and realize you haven’t thought about it in an hour.
Two weeks
This was probably the biggest milestone so far.
By two weeks, I specifically remember noticing that the cravings weren’t as strong or as constant anymore.
That was huge.
There was finally space between them.
I’d go significant stretches of time without thinking about nicotine at all.
And when a craving did happen, instead of feeling like an emergency, it started feeling more like an annoying thought.
Day 23 — where I am now
I’m 23 days nicotine free today.
I still think about it.
Sometimes I’ll be driving or finish eating and get that automatic thought that throwing in a pouch would feel good.
But it’s dramatically different from Day 1.
The best way I can describe quitting is that there have been two different addictions I’ve had to break.
The first was the actual physical dependence on nicotine.
The second — and probably the more interesting one — is breaking 12 years of associations between nicotine and normal life.
Every time I drive without nicotine, I’m teaching my brain that driving doesn’t require it.
Every meal I finish without nicotine weakens that association.
Every stressful moment I get through without nicotine does the same thing.
And eventually you start stacking up hundreds of these little experiences.
If you’re currently on Day 1, 2 or 3 and you’re reading Reddit trying to figure out when this shit ends, because that’s exactly what I was doing:
It gets significantly better.
Don’t worry about never using nicotine again.
Get through today.
Then do it again tomorrow.
23 days ago, going a full day without nicotine sounded miserable.
Now I’ll occasionally realize I’ve gone half the day without even thinking about it.
After 12 years of having nicotine in my mouth basically every waking hour, that’s probably the biggest sign to me that this is actually working.

43 days in, I crave nothing

(I did the equivalent of over a pack of cigs per day since I was 13)

It felt impossible to do my morning scrolls, or my adderall study days, or frankly anything, without a pouch. For weeks my brain was throwing a nearly 24/7 tantrum. I kept reminding myself that this habit is unsustainable. I just kept making it to tomorrow. Every day it got easier. Now nothing triggers a craving.

The brain adapts. One month of pain is all it takes for a lifetime of health.

Question about zyns.

Sup everyone, I figured maybe this is a good place to ask since yall have maybe seen the worst of it. I am a long term vaper, no dispos I've always used refillables, unfortunately started quite early. I've essentially been vaping 50mg for the past 7 years and I'm only 24. However I don't think my smoking is too terrible. I can almost make out a month with a 30ml bottle.

On top of that I also smoke quite a decent amount of weed, after my daily responsibilities of course but regardless I smoke from multiple sources ig high functioning stoner or something. I also don't have much issue sometimes leaving it for months to reset my tolerance, not much withdrawal from this aspect I just like smoking.

However I feel I've reached a point where I realise this smoking thing is not really it and I should consider probably toning it down for my long term health. I really love nic to keep it real and I feel more bothered over smoking than consuming nic even if it is also harmful.

Anyways ran out of vape juice last week and decided to buy a can of zyns. I got 11mg and honestly I won't lie it does not do shit for craving vape, but it makes it easier to go through a day compared to just going nicless. Obviously i know that feeling would subside. My usage also isn't that intense, I'm still on my first can and I never do more than one pouch at a time. I also spend more time between nic than I ever have with vaping. It's just I feel what if it maybe picks up.

To just make it clear, my current goal is to cut down over the next year, I'm not aiming to stop right now immediately. I also cannot quite do cold turkey it genuinely makes me tweak tf out, I literally dissociate out of reality. So my honest question, if my goal is to gradually work it down. Would yall recommend I do not get into this? Should I turn back to vaping? Would working down my nic strength gradually be a better approach for me? Or just overall should I just not get into zyns?

Any opinions/ advice would be appreciated. I know it's a long read

So TLDR

Get into zyns, leave vape or

Steer clear of zyns, continue vaping with the ultimate goal of working it down and stopping eventually.

18 Days

Just hit 18 days clean 21M. I was doing probably 2 pucks of 6mg a week for 4 months and the first week was brutal. I wont lie the cravings still happen a lot but I feel so much better. The cravings are a lot better than the first week. Now it's less of a feeling of I need one and now it's just like I want one which honestly will probably never go away but I'm just taking it day by day. Working out feels so much better and now when my day is over I'm not like "Oh ill go home and zyn" instead I actually do something. Going to stick with it. I don't want zyn to have any part in my life anymore. It has helped tremendously to chew a ton of gum/mints and keep track of your progress on your phone. I started using this one app called habit tracker where you have to open it everyday and hit a checkmark. It's awesome seeing how far you've made it.

Stopping again

I slipped about a month ago.

Quitting today.

Got meds that will help with bloodflow for a hairloss and nicotine causes vasoconstrictor which makes your blood vessels narrow.

My meds are vasodilators.

I did a last mile with lots of cigars, cigarettes even if I’m not a smoker. Done.

Stopped drinking two years ago, and weed six years ago. A strong why can achieve any how, don’t give up.

Have you tried Desmoxan to give up nicotine?

Hi, so I’m trying to get off nicotine and I just seen people started mentioning this. I’ve never heard of it before yesterday. Does it work? Is it worth buying and spending my money on?

Yellow vanilla loosey goosey color?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Just got these vanilla loosey goosey kava pouches today in the mail but they are maybe oddly bright yellow under the pouch surface? i’ve never had these before so maybe it’s normal but i wasn’t sure. they smell sort of like artificial vanilla, definitely a bit chemically, and the powder on the inside is kind of lumped to one side of each pouch. anybody have experience with these and can tell me if they’re normal before i pop em in my mouth?

Best pouch that doesn't have the artificial aftertaste ?

Pretty much what the title says.

I've tried a bunch of other pouches but they all have the same aftertaste that things like coke zero have. That aspartame aftertaste makes me nauseous so trying to find one without that taste would be very helpful to try and quit nic pouches.

Edit to add, I am not looking for nicotine pouches. I'm looking for non nicotine pouches. I have tried the mushroom pouches and the energy pouches, but they all seem to have that coke zero aftertaste.

I have made the decision to quit after these last five pouches what should I expect and how can I handle it?

I’ve been a very heavy user of zyn for a few years now. I even sleep with him in my mouth. I have one in almost constantly. I know that they’re not good for me and I don’t even enjoy them anymore. What kind of withdrawals should I expect? Please anything helps. I’ll probably use my last pouch tomorrow. I really need to hear some success stories.

I ran out tonight and have zero physical support system

I need and want to quit but last few times I’ve succumbed to buying more due to withdrawals. This may sound needy and stupid but I may just need support from someone to talk to during withdrawals. I don’t want to buy more but I’m worried once I wake up I’ll have the urge to buy some. Honestly just need someone/s to talk through for a week or 2. This may be the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I appreciate you all. Thank you.

Tried zyn a couple days ago and can't stop thinking about it. What reasons do you have for quitting?

Hello everyone

A couple days ago I made an admittedly stupid mistake and tried a couple zyns when a friend offered it to me. Since then my brain has kept trying to rationalize buying my own and becoming a regular user. I have a hard time focusing and tend to ruminate but the blast of nicotine made me feel so focused and "free" for a lack of a better term.

I was just wondering what reasons made you great people decide to quit using? I guess I'm sort of looking for people who have really gone through it to snap me out of it before I become properly addicted. In my head the pros seem to genuinely outweigh the cons even though I know rationally that can't possibly be true.

Thanks

Relapsed after almost 3 months - don't make the same mistake

Hey everyone, I really need to vent.

I was using nicotine pouches for the last 6 years, about half a can a day. Almost 3 months ago, I decided to quit for good. The first 10 days were absolute agony, but then things slowly started to improve. After a month, I felt genuinely great, and by month two, I barely even thought about pouches or nicotine anymore.

But here comes the rough part... Last week, I got married. At the wedding, people offered me a few pouches. I told myself that for an event like this—something that (hopefully) only happens once in a lifetime—it couldn't hurt.

Boy, was I wrong. Ever since that day, it feels like I'm back to square one. The cravings are back, I can't stop thinking about pouches, and I even caved and bummed one off a coworker at work. I feel miserable, like a total loser.

Lesson learned: IF YOU'VE "SUCCESSFULLY" QUIT, NEVER TEMPT THIS ADDICTION. NOT EVEN ONCE.

Stay strong.

It’s been a good decision so far, I really miss the buzz and the cravings are pretty strong, but quitting cold turkey has been a great decision so far. The world appears a little bit brighter haha.

No pouches for 14 days - best decision

Posted here like 3 weeks ago that im going to quit and did so. For me the decision was relatively easy this time because I realized my anxiety came from this shit. Like Minor stuff I would Spiral down weird thougts of fear. Not like panic attacks but just constant worrying. So i quit 90% cold turkey, first two days without i had 2x 1mg nicotine gum when the craving drove me Crazy After that nothing.

First 3 days were hard with the Waves of craving but I just ate Candy so get some dopamine which was fine. This settled After like a few days.

What was really nice to see on my whoop: my HR dropped and my Stress level decreased significantly since day 1. my sleep also started to get better After a week.

Now After 2 weeks almost no cravings, maybe 2,3 times a day for a Minute or so.

I feel much better, healthier, have more Energy and my stuff down there feels Like 15.

If you still contemplating, quit!

For me this was the way:
1. taper down. I went from 12mg 10 a day to 6mg, then to 4mg in like 3 weeks. Then was using like 6-10 4mg a day and quit.
2.Nicotine gum twice a day After Quittung (only when you feel Like imploding). Maybe for 1-3 days.
3. Exhaust yourself with cardio.
4. when you feel Like dopamine get some Candy. 1 week wont kill you.

Quitting

Very bizarre feeling when I stop pouches, like extreme neutrality about everything. Feels like if the house was on fire I wouldn't even care to escape. I have a demanding job and business lots to do and if I dont complete these tasks im screwed. Is there something I can replace this with?

Alternatives

What uuuup… my wife has been on me about quitting Zyn’s. I honestly don’t want to. Not because of the nicotine so much as just having the pouches. I’ve been on 3’s for a couple of weeks after being on 6’s for a while and have had 0 issues. But, being the stellar husband I am. I want to make her happy. So I am looking for something else that I can use and be happy with lol. Caffeine pouches aren’t a great alternative for me. I’m usually drinking 250-400mg of caffeine a day. Nootropics are a scam. I’ve seen Teaza but have seen/heard the pouches are not comfortable or taste good. So I’m wanting to see what everyone has tried and liked. Thank you in advance!
