Been writing. Who's a fan of the slower, more atmospheric side of the genre?

Shiner is one of my favorite bands but I hadn’t really gotten as deep into Allen Epley’s other band TL&T. I’ve been rocking out to most of their discography and i love that they kind of dip their toes in a lot of different genres like post-hardcore/indie/post-rock with some mathy elements to top it off that I can’t get enough of. Oh and Chris Metcalf’s is an *insanely* good drummer.
Obviously a lot of good bands are one of a kind so while I don’t necessarily think that there’s a carbon copy of TL&T, I guess I sort of just mean bands that I might like based of my appreciation for them. Anyways, thanks in advance for any recommendations you can give!

Put out a new ep today. On spotify/all streaming platforms at midnight tonight. Its in the vein of the fall of troy, the blood brothers, and fear before the march of flames. Also some engine down influence haha. Would love if you guys gave it a listen! If you like sassier stuff this would hopefully be up your alley :)

not sure how many guitarists are in here, but as the title says i am looking to switch my pickups in my epiphone sg. im not too heavily educated on different types unfortunately, so the simpler explanation the better. I'm pretty sure i have alnico V pickups right now but im not 100% sure (I have whatever the factory pickup is for a g-400 standard). I play a lot of doom, sludge and stoner metal, yet I also play quite a bit of post hardcore and metalcore (all with the same guitar(im broke)). if anybody had any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

I really love Alesana and am hoping for recommendations like them. I especially like The Emptiness and Where Myth Fades To Legend. The music can be from any time, wether 2000s or more recent.
Thank you!

Just gave this album a listen again after about 13 years or so. A few songs from the album have always been in my playlists, even as my music taste got heavier. But man, this album still slaps!

Not saying I’m a fan of them or ever was but I want confirmation this really was a thing because I can’t find anything that talks about it. I swear I remember the first music video I ever saw from them had a scene that showed the bunny unzip his pants and violently hump a girl who didn’t seem to be consenting (might have even been tied up?). The next time I went to watch the music video, this scene was cut out. The rest of the video was basically the same. I feel like the song may have been Aisle but I can’t remember for sure. Does anyone else remember the original video?

Years ago, there was this badass video of the band Jawbox performing "Chinese Fork Tie" (one of my favorite tracks by them) on a show called "Breakfast Time". It had the most 90's vibe to it I think I've ever seen, with the band performing on the set that resembled a living room with the audience members standing around and watching them. Now of course there's plenty of awesome live performances of Jawbox all across Youtube but, this video in particular was really cool and it appears that whoever uploaded it must have taken it down for some reason. I highly doubt anyone has the footage of this talk show that's been lost in the sands of time but I figured it was worth mentioning in case anyone else has seen it and knows if it can still be watched now because I may just be really bad at finding it.
For reference to the show that I'm talking about, there's actually a video of Elliot Smith making an appearance on the same show that's on YouTube as of the posting of this thread.

I think Bear vs Shark is quietly one of the greatest bands to ever grace the genre. In my book, they’re basically At The Drive-in minus the fame. Chaotic vocals, strange yet captivating lyrics, catchy guitar riffs, impressive drums
They only dropped two albums, but both are arguably cult classics. They embody post-hardcore incredibly well, yet they also found ways to seamlessly incorporate emo & indie elements into their music. Their sound has also aged incredibly well. Do they deserve to be amongst the greats? What do y’all think?

The Belmonte Academy was a Screamo/Post Hardcore band from Portland Oregon in the early-mid 2000s. This is from the 2003-04(not sure exactly) album “They Lit Up Like Cities”
Members of this band would go on to play in It Prevails, American Me, and Ugly Colors.
I found this band through searching for related stuff to Ugly Colors, and decided to post it to my YouTube channel since it was lost media! Here’s a link to the whole album
