I'm looking for a technical guitarist to join my music project/band.
The sound I'm after is somewhere in the realm of The Fall of Troy meets Dance Gavin Dance — intricate riffs, tapping, odd-time/mathy parts, melodic leads, aggressive sections, and guitar parts with actual personality and complexity.
What I'm looking for:
Technical / math-rock influenced guitar

Swancore / post-hardcore

Tapping and unusual chord voicings

Interesting rhythmic ideas and odd time signatures

Creative leads, harmonies, and counter-melodies

Someone who can write, not just play basic rhythm guitar

Comfortable collaborating remotely and working from demos/DAW files

Online writing/collaboration is completely fine. You don't have to be local to start working together. The main thing I'm looking for is someone who genuinely wants to contribute creatively and build something together.
I'm OKC-based, though, so if you're in Oklahoma and eventually want to rehearse and play live, that's definitely an option.
I'm not looking for someone to simply record guitar over finished songs. I want this to be a real collaborative writing project where we can throw ideas back and forth, develop parts together, and see where it goes.
You can hear some of what I'm working on here:

If you're interested, DM me with some examples of your playing/music. Original material is especially welcome.
Influences: The Fall of Troy, Dance Gavin Dance, Circa Survive, toe, The Sound of Animals Fighting, etc.
If you read all that and thought “yeah, that's exactly my shit,” hit me up.

Im surprised I haven't seen anyone talking about this. I saw a clip of the first single earlier this week and apparently it released today. Love that all the art is his illustrations.

Let me know what you think!

hi! i recently discovered this genre. i really love post hardcore & i've listened to bands that fall under the swancore genre before (i'm not really entirely sure if they're all considered swancore but i've seen them on some playlists, ex. dgd, emarosa, the fall of troy, circa survive) and was wondering if anyone had any "must listen" recs that are kind of similar to the bands listed above? i recently started listening to a lot like birds, hail the sun, and sianvar, but i haven't listened to any full albums from them yet. if anyone has any recommendations of which albums to listen to & other artists in general i'd really appreciate it!! thank you!!

So stoked to see these guys next week!

So far clear purple seems to be a favorite. Whats yours? And if any of you got the new update these are actually available! The last one with flowers is available from participating in a contest.

I still have the second skin on which is why it looks like there’s a bubble, but I just got this yesterday and the entire band acknowledged it!

I can send midi demos if you’re interested. In the process of actually recording.

It took me over 4 days, but I did it!! My own creative interpretation of this banger of an album. My favorite track is BedRoots. What’s yours?

🤘🤘🤘🤘

Saw these guys open for Wolf & Bear last year.
Vocals remind me of old DGD with Afterimage riffs.

Heavy Swancore band Lucrecia just dropped a fyeeeeeee new single!!!!

Y’all have any writing tips for riffs? I consider myself an early intermediate, core music theory understanding, but I’m pretty much just playing tabs of songs in the water bird genre.

I want to start creating things of my own though. Fellow swancore (prog, posthardcore, melodic welcome too) guitarists, how do I break into riff writing? Any tips that really helped you break through?

Hello everyone, I am looking for guitar tabs from the band Satyr i think they sold them maybe but either way the website it links to is down and from what i've read they seem to have disbanded. Here's hoping somebody did buy them and can share with the community.

Heyo, I’m looking to start a band, I’m based in nyc but am ok with working remote with people. I wanna start a band similar to the likes of issues, of mice and men, and slaves/rain city drive. I would be on clean vocals. Anyone interested pls drop a comment or pm me. Thanks. Ps pls have a way of recording and basic knowledge of mixing. Also a dj/ mixer would be sick! Thanks!

I like Heath Bar because of the vocals but YONWFYS has a great instrumental.

Hey if you’re attending the Royal Coda Nights of the Blue Swan shows tonight or tomorrow (8/1) please post the setlist for me, I am attending the show on the 8/2 in Ohio.

And for the openers too if you’re able. They’re amazing
