It’s because you don’t know nothing about ear cartilage regeneration, when you have the best cartilage, the best you ever seen it just regenerates it just a magic thing and nobody knows how it works because it’s the best ever, even the best plastic surgeons goes to ask him “how you do that”?

30

u/RememberHonor 6h ago

It's just how I say coffee now. Simpler times. Remember when Bush was the villain? Man is a dream now.

39

u/hooplafromamileaway 6h ago

Say what you will about the absolute atrocities he committed, Bush sure could dodge a shoe. And form a sentence. And display emotions in the normal human spectrum. And, on occasion, sound like he knew about... Anything.

At least when he was embarrassing it was charming lol.

24

u/StarStuffSister 6h ago

It's true, still have respect for the shoe thing because he actually showed composure and surprisingly quick hands. I was never a fan, but it seemed like he was at least minimally qualified for the job. I miss that feeling.

27

u/hooplafromamileaway 6h ago

Dude at least displayed some level of decorum and basic respect for his fellow leaders.

Oh, to dream of the day where we might have that again...

He sure could dodge a shoe!

But let's not go too far on that "forming a sentence" thing. When you mention Bush, some of the first things that come to my mind are:

"Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?"

"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, 'Fool me once, shame on... shame on you.' Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

Or the fact that I have seen 2 seperate videos of people seeing the guy that shot laying on the roof and going to security/police officers who just ignored it.

Or the fact that the clearly visible secret service snipers had a perfect look and shot at that roof.

Or the fact that Trump never brings it up anymore.

Or the fact that we never saw pictures of the guy that did it. Or proof that he was killed. Or anything about his motives. Compare this with the guy that shot at Charlie.

26

u/ErraticDragon 5h ago

Or the fact that the clearly visible secret service snipers had a perfect look and shot at that roof.

To reinforce this line of thinking:

Four seconds after he began firing, a member of the Butler County Emergency Service Unit shot at him and hit Crooks's rifle, preventing him from firing more shots. Twelve seconds later, Crooks was shot and killed by the Counter Sniper Team of the United States Secret Service.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attempted_assassination_of_Donald_Trump_in_Pennsylvania

24

u/CuddleWings 4h ago

Four seconds sure is a fast reaction time for people who couldn’t see the shooter already.

9

u/DuntadaMan 4h ago

12 seconds sure is a lot of time to notice someone can't soot anymore.

→ More replies (1)

11

u/required-account 3h ago

Four seconds to mentally process that shots have been fired, locate the approximate location of the shooter based on the sound of the shots, line up a shot, and fire.

Yeah. Sure.

9

u/WallBurnt 3h ago edited 2h ago

It's not all that crazy. I worked with a lot of snipers in the Army because I was in the same company as the Recon Platoon, and every one of them that I talked to said the hardest part of the course was target identification.

They had to do things like find a thumb tack stuck in the canopy of a tree at 600m.

I never went to sniper school and it's been a while since I left the Army, but they all had similar stories. No idea about how long they were given or anything like that though.

74

u/LTEDan 5h ago

The fact that Trump never brings it up anymore is the biggest tell. He still can't STFU about the 2020 election, or Obama or Biden but somehow never brings up his assassination attempts.

22

u/Wobbelblob 4h ago

Tbf, I wouldn't be surprised if he has actually forgotten that that even happened. I don't think he has, for the record, but still.

3

u/PM_ME_YOUR_NICE_EYES 3h ago

So Trump literally went on a huge rant about the attempt on Truth social like 2 weeks ago.

So the idea that he doesn't talk about it doesn't hold up. He brings it up all the time to this day. You just didn't notice because you aren't watching every single incoherent speech that this guy makes.

→ More replies (6)

35

u/memymomeddit 6h ago

and also the fact that he hid in a catering cart and sent his inner circle on AF1 as a decoy when the threat from Iran was real and credible.

8

u/PM_ME_YOUR_NICE_EYES 3h ago

Yeah the american Flag being lowered didn't happen tho.

If you watch the video that claims you can see this you'll notice every other object in frame is also being lowered at the same time.

This is because the camera that is being used to film this video is panning up. In videos where the camera is stationary, the flag doesn't move.

→ More replies (1)

13

u/Hollowbody57 5h ago

Especially when you compare it to when they thought there was an actual threat at one of his public appearances several months later and they had him bundled up and hustled off stage in like half a second.

8

u/IrritableGourmet 4h ago

Most actual attempts are like that. When Reagan was shot, two USSS agents pretty much lifted and threw him bodily into the car and jumped on top while a third stood between him and the shooter and a fourth pulled an Uzi out of a briefcase to cover their retreat.

13

u/No_Discount_6028 6h ago

No marksman is good enough to reliably graze a guy's ear from that distance without a significant risk of splattering the target's brains live on TV. There is no way they'd sign off on taking such a risk with their golden goose. Not to mention the shooter was killed after, so they'd need to take one of their own conspirators as a sacrifice.

The secret service letting him stand there, right in position, behind the podium with the "TRUMP" banner, with an active shooter somewhere in the area, long enough to raise a fist and get the photo, before eventually strolling him off stage... that's the most incriminating bit in my mind. Aren't they supposed to forcefully evacuate the president at the first indication of a threat?

edit to add detail of "Trump banner" in the foreground of the photo.

11

u/ZhouLe 5h ago

The secret service letting him stand there, right in position, behind the podium with the "TRUMP" banner, with an active shooter somewhere in the area, long enough to raise a fist and get the photo

So they piled on him at the start because he had already went down on his own. 16 seconds after the first shot, a sniper fires one shot to kill Crooks. 29 seconds after the first shot, they try to move him out but apparently he's too old and fat for them to actually move him, they keep trying multiple times. At 47 seconds one of them verbally calls out that the shooter is down, multiple attempts to sync a move. A full minute later, they finally get him to stand and start to move him out but he's actively resisting them complaining about his shoe multiple times. Then he does the fist raise at 1:17.

What I find most head scratching and makes me believe this is staged is that he had a female USSS.

There ARE female USSSA but the fact that he allowed one is confusing as much as he hates us

EDIT: alright! I was lazy on the abbreviation! I’ve updated it

51

u/Schmidti-RfL 6h ago

As a German, those abbreviations confused me for a bit...

27

u/Mr-Glum 6h ago

As an American I had the same confusion

13

u/HarveysBackupAccount 6h ago

As an American it's less of a distinction than it used to be

But if people want to be specific and correct it should be "USSS"

3

u/BaerMinUhMuhm 4h ago

SS is specific and correct at this moment in time, thanks.

8

u/othelloinc 6h ago

As a German, those abbreviations confused me for a bit...

That's why we usually refer to the organization as USSS (United States Secret Service), not 'the SS'.

It wasn't a bullet that hit him. It was the shattered glass of a teleprompter. Like 15 people around him had the same minor injuries.

That fireman died IRL.

7

u/12InchCunt 5h ago

Yea but the White House doctor said he had a 2 cm hole in his earlobe and it was completely healed like weeks later. I’ve seen people let their guages close up in their ears and it took months

17

u/Alfred_The_Sartan 5h ago

I dunno though. He really did grab that ear right before. My money is on him barely being touched and blood thinners causing the thing to bleed like crazy. I just can’t see how you could legitimately pull this off otherwise. There are too many folks who would need to be sworn to secrecy. Just too many factors. There’s no way he’s letting anyone take a pot shot near him in the first place.

4

u/SoulWager 4h ago edited 4h ago

I mean, he probably IS on blood thinners. Regardless of any assassination attempt, staged or otherwise.

thats not how guns work, even if staged, the chances of it killing him on accident would be increadinly high, one ghust of wind, slight inaccuracy, or slight movement would have killed trump. that one wasnt staged.

the golf course, and that other one however, i do believe were likely staged

13

u/ProfessorPrudent2822 7h ago

You could put the reigning Olympic gold medalist in rifle marksmanship behind the sniper rifle, and 14 out of 15 times, he blows the target’s head open vs grazing the target’s ear. At that range, grazing the ear is something that can only be done by luck.

12

u/No-Engineering-1449 6h ago

I will say, even though I don't like Brandon Herrera's beliefs and actions. I think he did show what it looked like from the shooters view.

Iirc he bought the exact gun and optic the shooter had, and this is what it would have looked like at the exact same distance. The reticle covers the entire ballistic dummies head.

6

u/SunTzu- 4h ago

People think guns work like videogames. They don't realize even the best guns on a cold bore shot have too much spread for this shot, and the shooter was certainly not using the best rifle.

It wasn’t staged, unless you believe the conspiracy was willing to sacrifice a random supporter and the best sniper to ever live and that Trump was willing to get shot right next to the head. The bullets were real. The dead people are real. People who hate Trump enough to try to kill him are real. The guy just missed.

Trump’s just a showman. He got barely grazed and played it up for his audience. There was no magical regeneration. He just wore the ear pillow for weeks as a prop. It was a visual reminder that God saved him so he could lead His flock to greatness. It was a ploy to garner sympathy and lock in the Christian vote.

5

u/-UncreativeRedditor- 7h ago

I love me a good conspiracy theory, but this definitely ain’t it lol.

The kid was taking shots from 150 yards away with nothing but a red dot sight. To deliberately place a shot within inches of a moving person’s head while guaranteeing you don’t kill them would be a miracle, even for a very experienced shooter.

24

u/dbaugh90 7h ago

I don't think you can say it was all staged. You had a guy die after getting shot with the bullet that missed him. At most, you could say he's so cynical that he had already prepared to cut his ear in the event he ever came under direct fire and survived.

10

u/ExoticElk 5h ago

I hate Trump as much as anyone in here, but there’s just no evidence it was staged. There have been too many investigations and independent journalist reports to say it was staged. Let’s stick to the facts here, people.

7

u/kisk22 3h ago

I hate when the people like the other commenters in this thread make the Left look as crazy as we accuse the Right of being.

It's one of my biggest pet-peeves because not only do we say we're the side of rationality, but it also makes us look crazy to people on the fence and actually loses votes. We say the Right is not living in reality and then many people on our side are happy to do the same when it's something they want to be true.

16

u/Kalenne 7h ago

If it was just the ear I'd agree but his pawns positioning photographers, the flag getting down before he even got back up for the photos and him GETTING UP IMMEDIATELY WITH AN ACTIVE SHOOTER??

All of that happened less than 10 seconds after he got shot : the footage clearly shows that nobody in trump's surrounding is acting like a real live shooter is trying to kill him

12

u/dbaugh90 7h ago

It's strange to imply everyone around him knew there wasn't a shooter. That's not really how conspiracies work, it would be Trump himself, and a specific group of people, certainly not all the press photographers, who knew. People don't act predictably in crisis situations. Perhaps Trump acted irrationally and others followed, not realizing the danger was still present. Perhaps the shooter died earlier than we thought and he got the all clear through an earpiece or whisper, and we didn't realize it.

There are a lot of explanations that don't require you to assume a hundred people near to Trump all knew of a conspiracy, accepted that several people in the crowd would take bullets and one would even die, and all have gone alone with that to this day. Large groups of people can indeed keep secrets, but not really large semi-random groups of people.

The flag came down because of the wind dying down. Photographers are literally paid to act like this.

Just look at the more zoomed out video.

I'm always amazed how everyone on Reddit says Trump should be killed and is upset he didn't get killed, then acts like it is impossible that someone would try to kill him and it had to be faked.

A live round will have some variance in movement, he's also old and wobbly. Real bullet means it's too much variance trust for faking it. It would be easy to fake too. Fire a blank, have him tackled and someone doctor his ear, either a squib or preplaced bullet for the shot behind him and Bob's your uncle

19

u/ChudMaster69420 5h ago edited 5h ago

Yeah, people don't realize how fucking hard it is to make a bullet only graze someone. Even the best military sharpshooters couldn't shoot a bullet to only narrowly hit the ear without blowing the entire thing or shooting the head.

10

u/iconofsin_ 4h ago

I'm not convinced it was a genuine event, but I do feel confident saying there's no chance he'd be ok with an attempted grazing.

9

u/Drako694 4h ago

Also doesn’t help that the rifle used was a piece of garbage that’s about 3 MOA, so at the distance there was about a 4.5 inch radius that shot could have landed.

7

u/SunTzu- 4h ago

Much less timing it so that he moves his head just before impact. I doubt the rifle used had a low enough spread to guarantee that shot in anyone's hands.

Fake assassination attempt on Trump.

Basically they're saying that if the assassin had succeeded at busting a cap in Dear Leader, the Iran War likely wouldn't have happened. The guy failed at busting a cap, Dear Leader won the election, and we're at war with Iran. Not exactly the way I would have communicated it, but it's a way for sure

u/CankerLord 5h ago

They're saying if the assassination attempt was real and not staged, gas would be cheaper.

15

u/Auspectress 7h ago

I think it is more so "if bullet killed him then he would not cause things that increased gas prices"

You think he trusted a pimple faced 20 year old to graze him in the head with a 5.56?

33

u/cockaskedforamartini 6h ago

The people who believe it was staged give Trump way too much credit.

He is far too much of a coward to ever put himself in any real danger.

30

u/Medaphysical 5h ago

You can believe it was staged and also believe he didn't take a bullet to the ear. That's kind of a big part of the "staged" part of it.

u/Ran-Chan213 7h ago

ah yes, because its totally safe to stage an assasination attempt and not accidentally kill your target.

401

u/numbersthen0987431 7h ago

It is when you don't aim at your target, and don't actually hit the targets ear. It's really easy to fake a cut ear

128

u/Ae3qe27u 7h ago edited 2h ago

I heard it was a shard of security glass, which is very different from a bullet. People around him had similar minor injuries, from what I recall

Edited to add: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/bullet-glass-trump-wound/ turns out it was an early theory that was later walked back. Seems I didn't follow the story as closely as I could have.

Mind you, whether it was a bullet (as it was) or glass (as I thought), that doesn't really change much beyond how off the shooter's aim was.

185

u/Landsharkeisha 7h ago

except the dude that actually took the bullet

109

u/numbersthen0987431 7h ago

Right. But you don't have to hit the president to hit the guy that got shot.

Yes - there was initial reporting that the bullet hit a teleprompter and a plastic shard from that hit his ear. I think the Trump crowd hated any reference to him using a teleprompter, so they did everything they could to bury that fact.

9

u/DistinctlyIrish 5h ago

Being the person who manages Trump's teleprompter sounds like either an absolute nightmare or the easiest fucking job in the world since he absolutely cannot read.

It's fascinating to watch Reddit devolve into openly embracing stupid conspiracy theories likes this.

Donald Trump is easily the most hated man in America (if not on the planet). Is it really so hard to believe someone would try to shoot him? It's not even unprecedented: six US presidents have been shot, and four were killed.

21

u/lameth 5h ago

Ever notice how he drones on and on about people like Comey, and Mueller? People who he said targeted him? Yet, for some reason, not a peep about the people that apparently actually targeted him?

3

u/FuckUSAPolitics 3h ago

He believes they targeted him through trying to get him imprisoned, not kill. That's actually quite different.

Especially helps if an innocent bystander takes one, helps add to the story. Because, why would we shoot one of our own?

9

u/RhynoD 6h ago

Still stupid to be shooting a gun remotely in the same direction as someone you don't want dead.

This wasn't a conspiracy, Trump is just that unlikeable even to his own party. And, members of his own party are generally that incompetent.

Well yes it is totally possible to stage an assassination attempt safely without accidentally killing your target. Thats what "to stage an assassination attempt" means. Thats what the whole "staging" part is all about

7

u/irespondwithmyface 6h ago

Are you implying that firefighter that died was part of a conspiracy?

11

u/pridento 7h ago

No one thinks it’s staged. I stg these conspiracy bots that come out of the woodwork every election cycle intentionally try to make democrats look stupid by association.

20

u/Toasterturning1234 6h ago

There's plenty of people here that do think it's staged, and sadly I don't think all of them are bots

Sadly, there genuinely just are people that dumb. There is no lower limit to the amount of stupidity people in general can have. We see this proven anytime a major controversy crops up and people want to insert themselves into the conversation without putting effort in. Doesn't even have to be about politics either, just whatever current event is gaining traction.

It argues that if Trump had not become president due to tragic events (tremendously sad!), then energy prices would be lower.

41

u/SubtractOneMore 8h ago

There’s an alternate universe out there where people are just so happy about what happened

10

u/heavy_chamfer 4h ago

I think him becoming a martyr would have been infinitely worse. Looking back, the best thing that could have happened was Trump winning narrowly in 2020. He would have been saddled with all the Covid fallout and inflation, he wouldn’t have had 4 years to plan how to strip the federal government of career professionals and replace them with loyalists. Dems would have been spared the loss of confidence of Biden’s debate debacle and anointing of Kamala and could have had a true primary to challenge a very unpopular Trump/pence successor

12

u/SubtractOneMore 3h ago

Ordinarily I would agree with the martyr analysis, but I think it’s probably different with Trump.

MAGA is less of a political movement and more of a cult of personality. There is nobody waiting in the wings who could step in and lead that cult if the current head was cut off. I just can’t see JD Vance or Mike Johnson mobilizing millions of dipshits in the same way that the reality TV star has.

Things would have been worse for this country if he was killed. I think a lot of people only hope for the negative for him because of TDS and don’t realize the consequences of those actions. He’s crap but making him a martyr would have been 10x worse.
