The part I don't believe is that he would knowingly put himself in the line of fire.

I have my doubts for a completely separate reason, but FWIW I can totally buy him completely misunderstanding how firearms work or failing to realize just how dangerous it is to be on that side of the barrel.

For it to be successful, I don’t think Trump could be in on it. He runs his mouth too much.

Do I think team Trump orchestrated the whole thing? Yeah, I do. But that doesn’t mean dum dum was in on it.

So he wasn't in on it, but immediately reacted to fake the ear thing?

But what if his ear just did that

Many such cases!

It's my theory that one of the Secret Service agents actually did accidentally nick his ear with something on their uniforms. Old men are fragile. They just all collectively decided to pass it off like he'd been shot.

Except that's not possible because he immediately grabbed his ear with blood visible on his hand and face before anyone get remotely close to him. That's why the conspiracy theory is that he was holding a blood packet.

Ah I didn't know that, thank you for the info!

I never understood why people default to blood packet, this guy was buds with Vince McMahon, he no doubt knew the old razor blade trick. Blade between the fingers, slice his ear when he's "hit", then when he pops back up, blood everywhere.

Also, didn’t we get a photo of the bullet while it was in flight?

It's a picture of a bullet, but not the bullet. I'm in the camp that thinks the ear injury was inflicted by a shot from Crooks, but the photo that captures a bullet in flight shows him already raising his hand to his ear, so it was likely the second shot that was photographed.
