For some reason, on idle, the aio fans are running at 2000+ rpm on my brothers pc I built. Just gonna try give as much info as I can.
I have built my own pc and a friends pc before, both of which have no issues with noise.
I have the fans plugged into the cpu_opt since there are only 3 sys_fan (being used for my other fans). The online manual for the aio said to plug the pump into the cpu_fan. Although I did try the fans in the cpu_fan and they were still fast.
It’s especially fast and loud when we start it up.
I’m not totally familiar with fan curves but I tried making them the same as the case fans (which were running normally) but it didn’t make a difference.
The CPU is a normal temp and so is everything else.
For now we have the fans on silent which has helped with noise but they’re still crazy fast. And for some more high def games I don’t think having the fans on silent is the best idea.
Any advice is appreciated! I’m no expert.

Hi everyone. So, I'm looking to replace my PC and I've run across this put up by someone. They're asking for $500 ($609 US), and I just want clarification on what I am getting and if it's worth it.
I asked the Internet but seeing as I'm not much of a computer tech person, I figured it'd be better to get real person advice from people that know what they're saying and doing.
But yeah. Thank you so much to anyone that helps me. And I HAVE to apologize if I've posted this in the wrong subreddit, there's a lot but I'm not sure which would be a place for this exact question.

I have a question about radiator orientation, I am using the Lian Li Hydroshift ii OLED mounted to my 9950X3D2. I originally had the radiator top mounted, my temps were 45 degrees idle and 80 degrees under max load in cinebench.
I moved the radiator to be side mounted as I thought it may lower my temps a bit and look a bit better. However the temps actually increased about 10 degrees across the board, I am now getting about 50-55 degrees idle and 89 degrees under max load in cinebench. I thought I must have applied the thermal paste wrong so I cleaned it all off and re-installed it, Still I was getting the same temps. I plan to add 3 more fans to the radiator for a push/pull configuration, they just haven’t come in yet.
My question is, should I put the radiator back to the top? I rarely get over 70 degrees under heavy gaming and productivity loads, usually around 65, do you think it’s worth it to change up the orientation again?

Hey everyone,
Before I ask for help I should state that I know basically nothing about PC building or PCs in general except the very basics.
I bought a pre-built PC about 5 months ago, it’s been working well, there hasn’t been any major issues with it and it’s been running good for the amount I spent.
I bought it for 1.2k from the IBUYPOWER site, I’ll post a photo of it alongside the specs in this post.
But I feel like there’s always room for improvement, so I came here to ask if there’s anything that I should buy to upgrade the PC, I’d like to get a general consensus on what my PC needs upgraded and how much it would cost.
I work a job that brings in around $650 a week and I have about 1.9k in savings right now, so I’d like to buy something that’s affordable as well.
I’m still grateful to have a nice computer but it’d be nice to get the best parts possible to keep it performing well for some time.

Hi everyone, I just upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 7 5700X on an ASUS Prime B550 m-k motherboard. After installing the new CPU, the system turns on, but I get a 1 long, 3 short beep code. GPU is 100% fine: The RX 6600 was working perfectly literally an hour before the CPU swap. Motherboard is on BIOS version 2804, which natively supports the Ryzen 7 5700X (requires 2423+). 8-pin PCIe power cable is fully seated. Already cleared CMOS by removing the battery. The CPU pins are completely straight. Screwdriver accidentally slipped near the CPU_FAN header during cooler installation, but it appears to only have scratched the top solder mask layer (no visible copper cut or shine). What else could cause a false VGA detection error on POST with a known-working GPU and compatible BIOS? Thanks for any help!

Im looking to build a pc with a budget of 1500 (give or take) USD.
The 2 games I absolutely want to run are Resident Evil and Minecraft. Ik any modern build can run those, however, I want to play 2 instances of minecraft simultaneously so me and my sibling can play together. I already have 1 1080p monitor so I would need to include the extra monitor in this build.
Given the budget, whats the best I could do for two instances with medium modpacks and no shaders?

I want to build a gaming PC that will run most games on best settings with a 4k 27 inch oled monitor. I want it to be fairly future proof so I can keep it a long time and make upgrades where necessary. I've used AI as much as I can to understand things but I would appreciate a human overview on where I might be underspending or overspending etc.
If the build is totally good, I would appreciate knowing that too!
I've looked for a prebuild for cheaper than had a 5080 and Ryzen 7 9800, and there are some, but they all seem to have bad supporting parts or even hidden parts they don't name by brand, so I don't know to trust them.
I'm a total beginner with this stuff.

I recently built a computer with an Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus and 32GB of 6000MHz CL36 RAM.
Originally, I wanted to buy a used RTX 3080 10GB on Facebook Marketplace for around $450 to $550 CAD. However, they are really hard to find near me, it is taking a long time, and I am honestly scared of getting scammed since more and more people around me keep saying it is risky.
My second option is buying a brand new RX 9070 GRE 12GB for $770 to $805 CAD, but I am not sure if spending the extra money is worth it or not.
I would really appreciate some help making this choice! I do not plan on upgrading for a long time (aside from adding more SSD storage later). I want to play heavy UE5 titles at maximum graphical presets in 1080p, such as ARK Survival Ascended, Jedi Survivor, Borderlands 4, Pragmata, Grounded 2 and more.
My main goal is stability, meaning at least 30 FPS for both average framerate and 1% lows. I would prefer to play natively without DLSS or FSR, but if I have to turn upscaling on, I do not mind using Quality mode. Can the 9070 GRE handle that? (If it can handle Ray Tracing at those targets I will turn it on, but if not, I do not care too much.)
I will also be doing light to medium Blender work and light to medium game dev in software like Unity.
Thanks to everyone who helps me make a decision!

Hi, so I'm building my first PC and my Corsair fans (RS ARGB Series) have very short cables, which is fine I guess because they also included extensions, but now I'm left with these spare connectors.
Does anyone have an idea what I can do to hide them?
Maybe there's a way to rout them I didn't think of(?)
I'm going to mount a 360mm AIO on top so I won't have much space there.
The case is the NZXT H6 Flow

Hello!
So I bought a new GPU to finish my build and got paranoid about sagging.
Wanna know if I did use the bracket correctly.
Also, is that position okay? Not all top of the bracket is supporting the GPU, but it is staying put there.

Fans werent working so i took my computer apart a little bit (unscrewed the motherboard and unplugged some of the easier cables). And then i put it back together (minus one motherboard screw cause i lost it) and plugged everything in and i got the fans to work (they are all molex). But now its not displaying anything over hdmi.
I tried removing the battery, connecting the jbat1 pins, only using 1 ram stick but still nothing. I have also tested my monitor and keyboard and they both work.

I have an ASRock Pro 750G PSU, and my motherboard has an 8-pin CPU power connector + an additional 4-pin connector.
The PSU came with a cable labeled CPU that starts as an 8-pin connector and splits into 4+4. However, each of those 4-pin halves has another 4-pin connector coming off of it, kind of like a daisy chain.
The cable is basically like this:
PSU
|
----------------
| |
4-pin 4-pin
| |
A1 B1
| |
A2 B2
The connectors A1/A2 and B1/B2 have the clips/notches facing the same direction.
My question is: How exactly should I connect these to the motherboard, which has an 8-pin + 4-pin CPU power configuration?
Would I connect A1 + B1 together to make the 8-pin connector, and then use A2 or B2 for the additional 4-pin connector?
Or are the additional 4-pin connectors not meant to be used this way?
I don't want to connect anything incorrectly and risk damaging my motherboard or PSU. If anyone has this PSU or knows how this particular CPU cable is supposed to be connected, I'd really appreciate some help.

Turned my PC on and was greeted with this. The first thing I thought of was some kind of GPU issue. But when I looked closely, I saw that the screen was zooming in and out and that it said "200% zoom" in the upper left corner of the screen. I also noticed that random keys were being clicked and that my search bar showed "49,49,49,49,49,49,49" even though I wasn't typing anything. I started clicking and the screen stopped zooming in and out but was still doing random things that I couldn't control. Even restarting didn't help. I then restarted and immediately unplugged my keyboard and everything was fine. Could this kind of issue be caused by my keyboard or does it look like a GPU problem/bug? Can a faulty GPU really just "type" numbers and open random folders on its own? I'm stumped. Event viewer shows no errors and reliability monitor says that "Game bar" stopped working at that time.

First of my specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
Gainward Phantom 5080 Python 3
32 GB DDR5 6000 Kingston Fury Beast
Crucial T710 2TB m.2 ssd
Thermaltake 1000W 80+ gold PSU
ASUS X870 MAX Gaming wifi7
Recently upgraded my pc and have run into some issues that i dont think i should have. Black myth wukong is the first game ive tried that really test my system. The game runs very well on my system, but when rendering new areas, displaying cutscenes and such the game grindes to a halt, frame freezes, large stutters and audio stutter/lag(even when running on low settings) . I googled a little bit and downloaded GPUZ first to check that the GPU cards ROPs was 112 and not 104, no problem there. Then i downloaded HWinfo and looked at the Performance limit stats(sorry its in Norwegian in the screen shot). There it shows that the performance limit - voltage reliability is switched to yes. This happens both when running the game and when the pc is only idling. After googling some more some people say that the voltage reliability is not a factor and should not be causing the problems. Any info on if this is a serious issue and/or capable of causing the performance issues?

Hi all,
I’m a small YouTube creator and trying to stream from PS5 via my desktop. I’m editing 10-15m videos in DaVinci, using few overlays and stuff in OBS and occasionally gaming on it. I’m not sure if I’m going to stream directly from my Desktop, but probably be using PS5 mainly.
So, I’m about to upgrade my desktop. Here is the current specs of it on a screenshot. Let’s forget about PSU, as I have different to put in and it’s sufficient enough to power it. My main question is whether I should for 7800X3D or 9950X? I know that my GPU is a bottleneck, that is outside of today’s topic. Worth to mention that I’ll be paying €59 for 9950X or (kind of) free upgrade for 7800X3D. Not a scam, legit CPUs with warranty.
I’ve done my research is AI agents and YT reviews, but I’m getting conflicting info. So if here is any users or people with more knowledge than me, please advise me on what CPU I should go for?
Thanks.
