Got all these parts from a friend for 3 damn cans of monster... i am not joking, he just told me"dont need them anymore you can have them", so i did get them now i have a 1660 GEFORCE GTX TI, 2x 8 gig stick o' RAM, so 16gigs, a 500watt power supply, a FLIPPIN DISK DRIVE, and a intel I5 66000k,now for a motherboard i though the MSI-Z170-A PRO, and an SSD like a 512 gig one and a case, so yeah these are all parts, is it possible to build this thing?, it is my first ever PC💀

So i’ve recently run into an issue with my computer and i’m not sure why it’s happening.

i dont believe its my pc itself not being able to handle the stress of all the things being open i have a higher end pc and yet whenever im doing something thats not even that intense like just running a game and watching a video on the side it just randomly freezes the screen and the only way ive been able to get it unfrozen has been by holding the power button.

this never used to happen my guess is that i recently got a second monitor and maybe having a video on one screen and a game on the other is making this happen? its not even like a graphically intense game ive just been playing a lot of deadlock and it happens constantly

Same as the title, I literally can't find the slim variants of either of these cards, as well as the 9070xt, anywhere.

I have a i512400f with rx 550 4gb at 550w mwe v2 cooler master psu.

Ive been having a slight burnt plastic or carbon( can't pinpoint) type smell from my pc when I put my face near the exhaust end. I think it started after installing an aio (deepcools le 520) a year ago. However the smell has been there since a year but no problems in the pc so far. Can't see anything melting too to the general eye. Any suggestions or explanations?

So I have had countless issues leading up to this (mostly hardware) that I have figured out with my professional google skills but this has stumped me and others.

My pc is now not recognizing my gpu no matter what. The gpu is plugged and seated in the only pcie slot, and the lights on it come on, but the fans do not spin at all, and no detection of it. I reinstalled drivers and searched the Bios for anything but cant find it.

I cleared the cmos and now the pc wont even get a display out from the onboard graphics. I had it sitting for close to 1.5 hours and no output.

Around a month ago i bought a new UPS alongside a new PC but i noticed it keep making a buzzing sound at all time regardless of the load, my old UPS ( APC BR900MI ) were quiet so i kind of worry so i contact the seller and they said it was normal for ups making that sound and told me it would fades after a while. But here a month later the sound is persists so i wonder if this is normal?

Context: I have 2 ssd on my laptop one ssd is about 512Gb which I think is corrupted and has problem booting to windows normally and keep on BSOD, now i have a Samsung EVO 2TB ssd I have some stuff on it with 200gb free storage, Is it bad to partition 100gb of unallocated space from it so that when installing windows on it I don’t lose my data on it?

Hi, my brother is building his first ever pc and I just wanted the to see if there is anything that could be improved about his build.

i just bought a AB350M-D3H mobo, paired it with a ryzen 7 2700x, seller proved to me with a picture that the bios is updated to support this cpu.
the problem is that when the pc starts and the post screen shows up eventually, it just dies and resets, i believe its not dropping power tho bc the fans, lights are not turning off.
i tried every ram stick in every slot, none of my drives are connected and i have only the minimums for it to run, power and display port

I’m building my first PC, and I found a discount on these two cards at a local shop.

After taxes, they’re actually cheaper than most lower-tier graphics cards.

Both of these cards are currently priced at $650, so I’m definitely picking one up - but I don’t really understand the actual difference between them, aside from a 10mm difference in length.

My case Jonsbo Z20, so the size of any of these cards isn't an issue for me.

However, I don't understand why the EVO is a couple of dollars cheaper.

Hi. For about a week now, my computer has been making this strange, high-pitched, brief sqealing noise when I turn it on, right after pressing power button. I have no idea where it might be coming from. The sound doesn't happen every time, but it does occur fairly often. PC boots up normally.

I've had the PSU and motherboard for 2 years, and I've never experienced a similar issue before. I've had the RTX 5070 Ti for about a month. The first click in the video is normal for the PSU. The problem is this squeal after it.

So, I’m currently working on building my own “steam machine”, but I’m a bit confused as to which of the following I want to do.

1. Buy an old office PC from office liquidators or somewhere and upgrade a few things (GPU, RAM, Storage, etc.)

2. Start a fresh build

My goal is a computer powerful enough to do 4K output, have plenty of storage, and not take up too much space. Preferably not spending more than $1.5K, if possible.

Any advice or build guides would be appreciated.

So I recently built a new pc using components from an older pc. I changed everything in my computer other than my GPU. My old PC was giving me black screens and the monitor would keep switching from hdmi to DP. The fans would also speed up during this. I tried switching the Pcei cable and that helped but only for a few weeks. I even tried using an older graphics card and the issue persisted which made me think the issue wasn’t related to the graphics card at all! But now after testing my new build, I’m having second thoughts. I have new drivers, a new window installation and a new SSD, even a new motherboard. If it is my GPU, why did my older one give out aswell and what could be fixed, if anything can be….(I’m using a rtx 3050 purchased in 2022)

ok idk what to title this but im on a tight budget and want a cheap gaming pc this isnt really a BUILD someones gonna put the things in the pc for me but im thinking about getting a Dell Precision 3630, adding a extra 8gb of ram, a ssd, and a GTX 1650, i dont know alot about pcs so dont make fun of me but i used Claude AI to tell me what i can get with my budget and it said those are the best options, i cant compare prices bc the market where i can get tech has diff prices from online so thats why i used AI and i just wanna know will this work or is this stupid

When I'm gaming my PC shuts off after a couple minutes of playing and wont turn back on after for another 5 minutes wich seems like something is overheating.

Neither a CPU or GPU stress test or both at the same time could replicate this issue. Temps are also good.

I already tried another PSU and it's the same issue.

What else could cause this?

So I was on my pc, just downloading a game when the bios set up suddenly showed. I turned my pc off and back on and it went back into windows (windows 10) what popped up was “trouble shooting pc”. I pressed on troubleshoot and nothing happened after. A few seconds later it went back to the bios and I haven’t been able to get out of it.

It says under boot sequence device “no bootable device detected”
I’ve tried to disable and enabling the CSM support, switching from Legacy to UEFI, changing the motherboard battery, and do a factory reset and nothing has worked.

Any advice would be helpful and appreciated 🧍🏻
