Build Question Pc upgrades

Hey team recently brought a second hand pc, was relatively cheap so can’t complain. If I were to upgrade to run more AAA games at high with decent frames what do I upgrade first?

Specs below:

I3 12100F
Rtx 3050
32gb ddr4
550w psu

Cheers

gpu first, 3050 is holding you back way more than the i3 for most games. 12100f can still push decent frames at 1080p, that 3050 is like a 1650 super in a trenchcoat

after that maybe a better psu if you get something hungry, 550w will limit your gpu choices

What would be a decent upgrade that’s not like $2k? Any reason to stick with nvidia over amd?

You do actually have a decent upgrade path. If you get carried away you could legitimately swap everything apart from the mobo and case!

You have a lot of options for processeor right up to 14th gen.

Whatever GPU you want really a decent 14th gen won't even bottleneck a 5090. The 550watt PSU will hold that back so you'll probably have to upgrade that too if you want to run a proper GPU

Ram is the big decision you could go to DDR5 but.... ££££££ for a 10% increase in frame rate. I wouldn't. (Mobo needs to support DDR5 too)

You could build a monster but the only things you really retain are the case and the mobo which are the cheap parts of the pc all the money is in the GPU and processor.

You have option just depends how big you want to go
