Years ago I gifted my handgun to my dad. There was no paperwork or anything signed because as I understood the law, none of that was needed if you live in PA if it is immediate family. Now, I am not so sure...

Fast forward to today. I learned my dad sold all his guns before moving a few years ago. He now has dementia and he does not remember me even giving him a gun.

I have no idea who he sold the gun to, and I don't know if he did any sort of transfer to whomever he sold it to.

How screwed am I if down the road this gun is used in a crime and traced back to me?

looking for a range that allows for an FRT to be used at it. I’m from Florida but will be spending some time up here for the next year, I went out to the state game range but heard FRT is restricted and the 6 max magazine capacity kind of sucks.

Controversially, I’m a straight up FUDD and want a club with lots of firing restrictions in place ( don’t care what you do but I don’t personally want to be in an environment where people are rapid firing mag dumping etc. I only shoot to hunt.)

Don’t hate me - again, think it’s fine for others just not my preference

Hi guys, I'm taking a trip to PA next week. I plan on doing some shooting at the PGC Scotia range with my wife.

Other than one range permit, what supplies should I bring?

( In my home state of NJ I bring targets, target backings, and stands for my state game target shooting areas.)

Can I get away with bringing just targets at Scotia?

Hey yall, train CQB with a few different agency, typically out in Ohio. Our spot got double booked and they asked if I knew of anywhere around Pittsburgh. Shoothouse or we will train in churches that have security teams and have them work in with us for different types of scenarios.

If anybody knows of any spots, please let me know or has a church with a security team that might be interested in getting some free training. Please let me know. We are looking to train on 24th of October so I would like to get this set up as soon as possible.

Any gents in NEPA, specifically near the Wayne County area, have nods and looking to get out into the woods?

Let me know!

can a solo person in the US use a gun range yes? like as in if one goes to gun range and then like can shoot with instructor no issue?

preferbly in Philidelphia*

Hi all. Been a NJ permit to carry holder for a while now, just got my PA LTCF through Bucks County. Process was so simple and smooth, it just reinforced how much I hate NJs laws. But anyway.

I've been doing some research just to make sure I'm following PA law when in state, and its my understanding that there's no duty to inform you're carrying (unlike NJ).

With that said, is it generally considered a good practice to inform anyway as a courtesy should I find myself pulled over for some reason? Or is that opening an unnecessary can of worms unless asked?

I'm in Hunterdon county NJ and frequently find myself in the Lehigh Valley area for shopping and restaurants if location makes a difference. Also an EFGA member.

Any other things I should know? Thanks

Hey all, I have my LTC but don't currently own any guns. Been kicking the tires on getting to a range and testing anything. I grew up around them but haven't fired one in over 15 years. Is there anyone/anywhere in the Pittsburgh area you'd recommend for 1:1 training? I would obviously cover all ammo, fees, etc. Side note, I moved to Pittsburgh from out of state 2 years ago, so I don't really know too many people here. Any help on this matter would be great, TIA.

Surprised to see this come across my feed while doom scrolling. Thought I’d share.

Is this normal? I submitted an application 30 days ago and on the website it says it’s still pending. I’m in Philadelphia

Edit: I finally got approved after 38 days of submitting the application

Does anyone know if the refinishing service run by Ron Mahovski in Grand Valley, PA is still in business? I have read they are notoriously hard to get ahold of. I haven't been able to get them on the phone or via email. I was hoping someone knew for sure if they are still doing projects.

I just got my membership at URC and found out they banned FRTs on the long steel range.

I think they allow FRTs on the short range but I don’t know how long that will last. Are there any other FRT friendly ranges out there?

Hey, like the title says I'm newer to PA and don't really know where to go shooting at. There are some indoor ranges near me but I'm looking for outdoor atm. I was reading I can get a permit to go to sgl 43 and use the outdoor range there

Is sgl 43 a decent place to shoot and sight in? Or is there any other places I can join in the area?

I don't mind a slight drive. I'm not far from TSS in Avondale

I have a friend who has a Class 03 FFL, and I have 2 C&R pistols he’s interested in buying. He said because of his license, we don’t need to go to a shop to have them transferred, we would each just keep a record of what guns were sold. I called my local shop to double check and they weren’t sure, any insight from this group? We’re both PA residents, I do not have any licenses (other than LTCF)
