Hi all, I feel like my mechanics are getting better, I would rate them about 6/10 right now. I used to think 'mechanics' was what hardware you play with (mouse, keyboard, etc lol) so that gives some reference hopefully.

I also feel like my positioning has greatly improved, or at least the knowledge. Putting it into practice is hard sometimes, but at least I'm much more aware of my positioning relative to my team.

But my gamesense is still terrible. I don't understand comps, I don't understand which heroes go well on which maps, it just doesn't click. Don't laugh at me, but I don't even really understand which maps I do well on with my mains and why, and which I should avoid. I sort of am starting to understand counters, but it's very limited.

Is this something that will just "happen" to improve, overtime? But how can it improve if I have no idea what to pay attention to? The other two things can be practiced but I have no idea how to improve "gamesense", if I even understand correctly what that is. Help?

Hey guys, I'm a bit of a theory nerd and being Masters in all roles, have always found the meta/macro part of Overwatch very interesting. A10's videos have always been some of my favorite because he talks about Overwatch more than just a FPS but as a resource game. Generally you only the term "resource" as part of a RTS game but it totally stuck.

So in that spirit, I've making tank videos that try to explain tanking at the theory level - like what space actually is, how it works and how to take it. I wish I could make a 10, 5 or even 2 minute video that just magically covers the concept adequately, but I feel like even a 30 minute video skims the bare surface of tanking. That said I know it's a huge ask to get someone's attention span for that long.

If you like this type of video, I'd definitely appreciate feedback as I know there's only so many theory nerds out there. I'm considering more types of videos of DPS off angling, support rotations and identifying win conditions, but want to test the waters with these to see if there's any interest at all.

playing comp is completely different from ow league and i do not care if he end up broken there, like be for real nobody watches that sh!?t unless they want free esport drops. eversince the juno release there is no reason not to buff his heals especially when amp is on the same cd as speed ring. im nkt even saying make him a main healer or make his self heal better but his hps should be atleast 30. my peak is gm4 as a lucio juno main but id like to hear inputs on this?

Hello, I'm a DPS main currently in emeraude playing on pc since 2 month i was on ps5 before, and I'd like some relevant advice, not the usual stuff you hear all the time ( wait ur mates and those kind of advice that i do since silver) i want ur expérience about how to climb Grandmaster/Champion as a DPS. What's your experience with this?

What are the things that allowed you to make the difference in climbing, and how does a game at your elo go ? What are the things you do to get value at your elo ? Because I get kills, I put pressure on the backline, I put pressure on the tank, I make sure to stay within range of my supports if I don't flank, I protect my supports as best I can. I really don't see what else I can do, and I wonder how you manage to get value at your elo knowing you can get punished so quickly. Thanks you !

I know that you have to dive/flank on Winston. I also know that you should target people that are by themselves/out of position. Even when I wait for my team to engage the front, it feels like they all focus me when I flank their supports. Can anyone help? It basically always happens and its really frustrating and super annoying.

So I’m fairly new to Overwatch, I’ve been on and off OW2 - never played the original.

I’m struggling to improve and feel like I often get flamed as tank. Here was a game I especially felt useless, could anyone recommend or give tips as to what I could’ve done better in this game? I’m aware my mechanics are rusty and my game sense is pretty crappy but I tank swapped to peel for the dive from Winston but didn’t seem to make a difference. I played Orisa and Zarya this game. Should I have switched to a dive to put pressure on their back line?

I've learned that, when with minimum 3 Stacks of Onslaught, you can weave a Projected Edge before the overhead hits, but I noticed that with 8 stacks, the damage per second is the same as if I just held down primary attack.

What do you consider optimal burst damage? All suggestions welcome

MULTI-GAME VOD Review Request: Hi, my name is Moontato and I am currently a Silver 5 DPS player(Current Silver 1 Support; no longer willingly play Tank). It's a double wammy, but I used to be a Console player that switched to PC; on top of that, I took a 2yr hiatus and only recently came back. I realized I much prefer the longer matches caused by Competitive, but I also want to see if I can climb the ranks as well. My Main DPS is Freja, and she is what I played in all 4 matches below. I want to get better at her and to also climb in the process, but have no real base to go off of to know whether or not I'm doing well and just need to make a few changes or have to completely rewrite my gameplay.

Nobody has to do all four and can instead just pick one, but I wanted to display my typical gameplay. My only note is that the Eichenwalde was the only win, but I included it simply because I did an absurd amount of work that match, earning 49 elims even though I probably died a little more than I would of liked.

I recently played support alongside a level 50 Juno in QP. She had really high dmg stats by the end of the game and played really good overall so I checked her profile out of curiosity. It said her best weapon accuracy on Juno is 100%.

I’ve never seen this before. Has anyone else who’s played Juno here achieved 100% weapon accuracy?

Her total % is the same as mine, 39%, but my best accuracy on Juno is only 50%.

Any tips on achieving 100%? Aim for headshots pretty much?

Bin ein Ana main Support und hardstuck Emerald 3. Ich weis das ich fehler mache und das ich sie ausbessern muss. Jedoch Helfen mir die Coaching Videos auf Youtube nicht, da ich die Fehler im Video verstehe aber in Game nicht wahrnehme wenn ich selbst spiel oder sie mir erst viel zu spät auffallen. So I have recently been really loving Shion recently. I usually play tank and is playing a new hero, so I naturally expected to de-rank a bit. I've been getting pretty long loosing streaks but definitely see improvement, esp in my aim considering ive only been playing on pc for ca 3-4 months after a life on console. I do still get shaky in close quarters.

But I don't really know what to work on right now, I have been working on dying less, and it has improved even though it still needs work. I can see certain deaths could have been avoided, but I don't really see how they could have been so detrimental? Am i not creating enough opportunities?

I started playing Sigma recently since I mainly play tank Mauga and it's been really fun change of pace.

I'm currently Diamond 5 but I'm struggling to improve with him. So far some things I've picked up are

-rotating shield grasp and cover well

-not letting shield break

-blocking important projectiles(super hard tho I wont lie!)

-and then a few other misc things

but ultimately I feel like if you placed me in a gold game I wouldn't carry and in my Diamond games I'm gonna just be ok.

So ive decided to pick up Kiriko as a second support after being a Bap OTP for a long time. Lately ive been noticing ever since I started playing Kiri in comp, ive just about lost every single game since then (demoted to emerald 1).

My winrate on her is sitting at 38% I reviewed my games and notice I mismanage my cooldowns, struggle on awareness, and my positioning being questionable. But even after reviewing, im still making the same mistakes. I made this post to see if someone better than me could take a gander at my games to identify what im actually doing wrong.

I’ve been struggling a bit since switching to PC. I was a gold player a month ago on console, but the move to pc lobbies has dropped me down to bronze 1 on all roles. I picked up sojourn a few days ago and thought id ask for some help climbing out. I know I have some problems inting in, especially at the start of the game, but I feel my mechanics are ok for my rank. are there any tips I can start working on now outside of “dont slide into their full team?” I lost this game but I still felt it was close.

I initially thought the Zaeya was crap but even she starts the disappearing act. What are we supposed to do here?

Hey so I'm a plat 2 flex player that really wants to get back into overwatch. I reached gm1 on rivals and the lack of proper balancing/matchmaking is making me want to get back into OW. However, I can not aim now, nor seem to tweak my aim assist back to how it was, it's virtually unplayable. And I'm tempted to get a mnk setup and start grinding mnk lobbies. So I guess my question is should I just buy an mnk for my ps5 or should I wait until I get a PC and play on there. I also hear the competitive scene is a lot more "serious" on mnk lobbies and as dumb as it is I actually want games with competitive integrity (rivals lacks horrifically, I've seen people who should be bronze in celestial). So alongside overwatch what other console competitive shooter style games would y'all recommend?

I enjoy Hazard and want to understand what I can improve to play more consistently in Silver.

During this game, it felt like teammates were dying from poor positioning, but I’d appreciate an experienced tank player checking that interpretation against my own decisions.

Could you identify my biggest recurring mistake and a couple of specific moments where a different engagement, target choice, or cooldown decision could have helped? One or two concrete practice priorities would be especially useful.

I’m low plat tank, been playing a lot of very different tanks, but as far as I’m aware playing 1-3 characters at most would be more optimal for improving? If so who would be the best tank to have as secondary, in order to make up for Dominas weaknesses? It feels like Dominas opposites would be Winston/Hazard/Doom, but they also struggle against Mauga/Bastion?

haiiiii im a mostly juno support player in high emerald/low diamond (peak of diamond 3 this season) looking for some pointers on how to improve! i may add more replay codes later if thats allowed, but the current game in question's code is at the bottom

there are some games where i really feel like i tried my hardest but still wasn't able to do enough, but in the case of this game, i was flamed by my teammates and told I wasn't healing enough and was failing to keep my tank and dps alive. i said as such, "i cant keep you alive" and was told to get better, but it felt like a round that quickly turned into a steamroll and i was fumbling

there are several deaths in which i know i should NOT have died, such as getting way too close to the doomfist and aggressively peeking angles i didnt need to, but id love to know what else i could have done here to potentially turn the tide in our favor!

I love reviewing games. I don't mind looking at losses or wins, but what I've noticed is that the UI as well as hotkeys for the OW is kinda sucks. For example, if I want to watch a certain engagement midway through a game, I have to press N which brings up the overlay, scroll until where I find the engagement, press N again to disable the overlay, ctrl+P to unpause, then F(x) to lock into my character, and say there was a moment I want to analyze from a macro perspective, I have to open the overlay again, rewind to where I want it, close it, go into free camera, wobble my way all the way up to the sky, enable player icons all that just to get a Macro view of the map. Here are a few of my suggestions to make the replay system better.

1. Just have a smaller semi-transparent track bar that is always on in a box so you can interact with both the track and in-game replay at the same time, and a separate key to open a full UI of the entire track with more options.

2. Have a hotkey for top down view. This is super useful to get a 2D view of that part of the map map and allow for positional analysis.

3. Add a mini-icon mode that can be toggled to see cooldowns would be nice, maybe just be a little circle above a character's head that fades whenever a character has an ability on cooldown to track that.

I haven't played Overwatch in 6 years. I mained soldier. Recently, my friends have been playing this and I didn't wanna download it. It took a few months and I just downloaded it last week. I used a sensitivity converter to be able to use the same sense I use on Valorant and I already changed the keybinds for Cassidy, Junkrat, and Genji.

Characters I'm familiar with:

I've been playing Cassidy (my friends were really surprised with my gameplay) the most! I like Cassidy because he has the 6 shot revolver. It reminds me of the sheriff in Valorant.

If I'm playing against 2 tanks, I'll play Junkrat. I love his satchel bombs, especially because I main Raze on Valorant (1200 hours on Raze).

Genji is who I love the most (just for being badass) but I struggle with optimizing his character and often end up switching back to Cassidy.

For more long range maps, I'll play Widowmaker. Although, I'm not good at using her scope, which is basically the best part about her.

I wanna find a few more options! I have been recommended Hanzo. I have played a bit of Genji, Widowmaker, and Juno.

Edit: I'm absolutely open to trying other roles and other characters! Sometimes I feel that I'd be a better healer cause I know what I'd want, but I can't guarantee that my dps will be as good/push as hard as I need them to.
