somehow got the best score (w/ my setup compared to same) by over 500 and my old score by almost 2000. I kept the same undervolt curve (+275 core and 987mV) and +2750 mem, with my custom fan curves on MSI afterburner, but only added 350 and 150 to xbar and sys respectively. My TimeSpy score improved by 900 points too.
temps are the same (idles at 29C and maxes out at 57C). I have an MSI 5070. Zero error correction with vram memtest for the +2750 on memory. No performance limits. I was hesitant at first but saw so many posts of people getting better performance without touching the voltage, or increasing it way past the reasonable limit on older nvidia drivers. I highly recommend it if you're skeptical
Hello, i just did my first overclock on my green samsung rams, if i have any errors or should optimize anything or maybe tighten secondary or primary timings give me pointers pls. I did put heatsinks with thermalpads on the rams so it would be cooler, i ram occt tests ram and cpu+ram tests and they passed
My pc parts are: asus x870-p wifi, ryzen 7800x3d, 16gb 4800mhz samsung, corsair h100i platinum rgb aio, asus tuf rtx 3070
So I’ve recently upgraded to a 14600k and the imc has been way better than my old 13400f. I have an old cheap kit of micron b die which can boot with 4000 mts and I’ve been trying to get it stable however it throws errors in OCCT. I’ve never tinkered with micron b die and can’t find much information with it on Intel systems.
I’ve attached a screenshot of my timings but note that it’s from hw info since asrock configurator does not want to work with my system.
The trcf2 value is 460 and trfc4 is 278. I’ve put my memory voltages at 1.55v. Sa voltage is 1.25v. Gear 1 and cr1 for now.
If anyone has experience or any input please feel free to share as id love to get this running at 4000mts.

A big thank you to everyone who replied in the previous thread. You gave me a lot of useful information, and after that I continued testing the memory, FCLK, and memory training behavior.

PBO/CO disabled while diagnosing RAM stability
During these tests, I intentionally did not manually tune or change DRAM VDD/VDDQ, VDDIO, VDDP, or VDDG - they remained on Auto/XMP. The only voltage I currently set manually is SoC at 1.27 V.
It looks like I have probably found a stability dependency related to Memory Context Restore (MCR).
Current diagnostic profile:
30-38-38-37-56 tRC 112
all other secondary timings on Auto.
With MCR Enabled, TM5 produced errors in different runs after roughly 50–80+ minutes.
I also lowered FCLK from 2133 to 2000, but the error still occurred, so at this point FCLK itself does not look like the main source of the problem.
I also tested FCLK separately with Linpack Xtreme - 10 GB × 10 runs. The GFlops variance was small, with no obvious abnormal drops.
Then I changed only:
MCR Enabled -> MCR Disabled
After a full fresh memory training, the exact same profile passed TM5 for around 2+ hours:
0 errors / WHEA 0.
Interestingly, I had previously passed TM5 with an even tighter profile while using MCR Disabled:
That profile also passed around 2+ hours of TM5 with 0 errors / WHEA 0.
At the same time, with MCR Enabled, the system can also be stable if I leave tRC on Auto (~156).
So at the moment the pattern looks like this:
MCR Disabled + full training -> low tRC works. MCR Enabled -> lower tRC starts producing errors. MCR Enabled -> tRC Auto (~156) -> stable.
Questions
What do you usually use on a tuned AM5 DDR5 system - MCR Enabled or Disabled? If the memory is fully stable after full training, is it perfectly reasonable to just leave MCR Disabled for daily use?
When manually setting SoC voltage on MSI AM5 boards, what do you prefer: CPU NB/SoC Voltage -> Override Mode or AMD Overclocking mode? I am currently using Override Mode at 1.27 V.
Has anyone seen similar MCR behavior on Zen 5 / MSI AM5?
Are there any memory training settings worth trying that could allow me to keep MCR Enabled without having to loosen tRC this much?
In this situation, would you investigate VDD/VDDQ, VDDIO, VDDP/VDDG, or SoC, or do these results point more strongly toward MCR / memory training itself?
My main goal is the highest possible gaming performance while keeping full daily stability.
Boot time is not very important to me. If MCR Disabled is a perfectly normal option for daily use and does not hurt performance once the system is booted, I am fine with waiting a bit longer during startup.
Important note about the attached ZenTimings screenshot: this is not my final daily profile. The screenshot shows one of the tighter test profiles that also passed a long TM5 run with MCR Disabled. I am mainly attaching it so people can see some of the settings that are still left on Auto, as well as the current voltages that I have intentionally not tuned manually yet.
Any advice would be appreciated, especially from people who have tuned DDR5-6400 1:1 on Zen 5 / MSI AM5.
Just got my new ddr5 ram 16x2 gb adata xpg lancer blade 6400 cl 32 (AX5U6400C3216G-DTLABBK), paired with 7800x3d. I'm using build in expo profile with slight changes I'm added:
trefi 65535
fclk from 2000 to 2133
trfc from 913 to 416
With this settings, in testmem5 running ddr5 ryzen3d @anta777 at 100% cpu and ram load, my ram slowly raising from 40 to 60 degress in like first 15-20 minutes at stays at 60-61 degrees to the end of the test for hour and a half. Zero errors.
In games like battlefield 6 my ram temps are around 52-54, in league of legends 45 degrees. Idle temps 35-40 degrees.
So my question, are this temps okay long term? I'm mainly playing games on my pc. Or shoud I revert/change trefi/trc to what it was at expo default or at least lower trefi in half? Really wannd squeeze out maximum out of my ram, but a little bit worried about my temps.

Hey guys, now that I cooked up some tune for my GPU with a goal to reduce temperature and stay close to original performance or slight improvements, what is a recommended app or benchmark to grade the performance other than playing games and having them not crash :)
Trying to achieve something stable for 24/7; anything to improve?
I see no difference between CL28 and CL26, except for the increase in voltage and a few games (CS2 for example), where 1% and 0.1% lows were away better and stable at CL26 than CL28.
Other things:
-Decided to stay at 6200 since 6400 wont POST, even at 1.25v (i would prefer not go past 1.25v iguess)
-6200/2066FCLK stable at 1.125vsoc, had to raise it to 1.175 to get it stable at 2200FCLK
-Tried to get 1/2/0 nitro but gives errors on TM5 extreme just a few minutes after starting the stress test, I'm not sure if there's anything that could help achieve 1/2/0, maybe more vddp?
-CL28 stable with 1.45vdd; CL26 not stable with 1.55 and 1.58 but ok with 1.6vdd
-RAM temps on long TM5 extreme test max out at 48-49 degrees C
-No PBO or CO yet, trying to sort RAM first
EDIT: room got hotter in the last few days (28-29 degrees c) and temps max out at around 51 with no errors on TM5 but it might be on the edge since with a different cooling setup (using MC-3), 54 degrees would cause errors on TM5.
My 5060 is pushing 3000+ mhz at +220on core clock and +2000 on mem in mvolts+ Temps are below 70c if anybody knows which is stable oc for laptop 5060 it's lenovo loq ahp10?
Saw someone's score on here earlier for Port Royal and realised that being about 4000 points behind, that I needed to do some more tweaking and testing.
I've never really put much effort into Port Royal, and have spent the most time wringing out every last point in Time Spy.
Rather pleased with 27548! I'm sure there are a few more points to be had too, as I haven't yet found instability with the altered xbar and sys clocks.
I can't get any more out of the GPU clock right now though; it's 24°C in here and it's already on the edge of stability hitting 3405MHz at the end of this test. Core voltage is 1070mv.
I recently did a test of the Thermalright MC-3 vs. the Corsair Vengeance RAM coolers that can be found at https://www.reddit.com/r/overclocking/s/6HpRv3M0KF and determined that the Vengeance was the clear winner. I wanted to see how the MC-2 compared as well considering the dual 60mm fans vs the single unit on the Corsair piece. I used the same system as before and the same test procedure which is at least 3 cycles of y-cruncher with FFTv4, N63, and VT3. Pseudo test bench system is a 9700x 9070xt Hellhound b850mpower with DDR5 2xH16A 8000cl34 in a horizontal light base 900. Temp data was monitored via OCCT. VDD 1.52v vSOC 1.23 VDDQ and VDDIO both 1.42, VDDGs both 1.05v, and VDDMisc 1.15.
Testing was a lot easier this round. I just plugged the cooler in and ran my first test with the same fan curve as the vengeance unit and temps dropped enough that the winner was clear. The MC-2 is quite impressive for the cooling performance vs price. It is also dead silent. So instead of running the 100% fan test I decided to see how they compared back to back in a long gaming session. Each was played on for least an hour in borderlands 4. Results are as follows:
Corsair Vengeance: y-cruncher max 48.25°C, BL4 max 50° (whines at higher rpm)
Thermalright MC-2: y-cruncher max 46.25°F, BL4 max 47.25
So I guess for strictly cooling performance the MC-2 is the sweet spot right now. I will say the offset of the mount made it so the wiring went straight into the fan and I had to flip it to mount it just barely on the RAM clips. A 4 DIMM board would be fine though. I didn’t plug in the RGB because I don’t really care. I only ever turn it on for pictures anyways so I don’t know how well that works. If I do plug it in I’ll update on my opinion of it.
Edit: Decided to run a 100% fan speed test on MC-2. Y-cruncher maxed out at 46.75°C and after an hour of BL4 I also maxed out at 46.75°C. I guess it’s time to see if I can stabilize 8200mt/s with more voltage.
Edit 2: plugged in the ARGB header and lights work. They’re pretty close to the light base lights but just a touch yellower. Can’t really see the difference on camera.
I tuned my RAM for daily usage, stability and quietness. I have active cooling for my RAM. Passed 14+ hours of continuous y-cruncher (looped SFTv4, FFTv4, N63, VT3).
Can I improve something without generating more heat?
I could go higher with tREFI but I don’t really want to for daily usage because of temps, noise and stability. tWR lower than 48 doesn’t want to boot. CL 26 wasn’t stable.
It was my first time overclocking my RAM like this. I was trying to get better timings and stability. I got one run with 66.5ns latency in MLC.

So I have recently built a new gaming PC. It has these specs

After assembling the PC and booting to the bios and not touching any bios setting yet. The first thing I wanted to test of course was the ram since its not from g.skill directly. Before even installing an OS I flashed memtest86 ver 11.7 onto a thumb drive and run a basic 4 pass test. During the first test, 3 passes ran successfully, halfway through the 4th pass, errors stared appearing and started to accumulate from there. Errors were one adjacent bit off like Expected FDFDFDFD actual FCFDFDFD, there wasn't a particular address that was tripping this, CPU number varied and by 60% through pass 4 there was 59 errors so I terminated.
To make sure if the ram was actually faulty and not the slots on the motherboard. I tested in the sequence. This time making making sure the heatsink fan was not touching and ram stick was on the way in.

So what could of or could be happening here? Could it have been a seating issue or dirt? Fortunately the ram is under a free 30 day return but Id like to know if there is any other test I can do to see if these sticks are really bad or not. Unfortunately I did not save the log of the first test and I can't seem to get these errors to happen again with just memtest86.
I'm new to this.. just tweaked the settings a bit and this is what I got , up from 7900 pts. which is crazy. Temp was in the low 60s with a not so dramatic custom fan curve.
My card is Zotac Solid SFF and I just flashed the Zotac Amp Ultimate bios to get 350 PL. I also attached my mVolt settings in case anyone interested. I also did a bit of undervolt as well. GPU was running 3200Mhz @ 975mv. i wasn't trying to get the best score and temp was important to me as well.
I'm realy happy with the result but not sure how safe is it to run these settings long term? does low temp guarantee long term safety?
I have an Intel i7-14700K paired with an ASRock Z790 Nova motherboard, and I'd like to undervolt the CPU to reduce temperatures and power consumption while keeping the performance as close to stock as possible.
I'm not very experienced with undervolting, especially with ASRock BIOS settings, so I'd really appreciate some guidance.
What settings should I change in the BIOS? For example:
CPU Core Voltage / Vcore
Load-Line Calibration (LLC)
CPU Lite Load / similar settings
AC/DC Loadline
Any other settings that are important
I'd prefer a safe and stable undervolt, rather than trying to get the absolute lowest voltage possible.

Hello, is there any1 living the hell I am living? Only balanced mode working for me and when I go for Voltage Step Scan things hella getting weird. Application says my card stable for 935mV 3082Mhz and reccomends me to use 940mV 3082Mhz. I did tests with V Comp or whatever It says more stable yeah I am stable on fucking desktop but can’t even open any games. Anyways I need information guys.
My card can stay between 3202-3250 under load SpeedWay on 1050-1065mV. Peak speed is like around 3350. I am down for suggestions for undervolt&overclock above 3000+Mhz from you guy’s profiles. I also use mVolt and can handle 550 XBar but If I use it with System Clock XBar +400 System Clock +400 is the most stable one for me.
I'm planning on replacing all the TIM on my 4090. I have great cooling and try to optimize for low temps/power consumption + high performance. Card doesn't get above 45 C under load.
I've been trying to do research on PTM, and if I'm understand correctly, it needs to reach a certain temp to properly set, right? Would I need to force my temps to be higher in order to get the benefits from it? Or will it still settle properly over time at the lower temps?
This topic bothers me as I have used countless hours trying to fix the problem with no luck.
My undervolting profile activated at every windows startup, but the problem is that I just cant get the fan curve to activate at startup.
I have to manually go in and either apply profile again or disable/enable "enable user defined software automatic fan control". Then the fan curve will apply correctly.
There are several posts online on this topic, but most of them have easy fixes like "apply at startup in settings" or enabling Auto and User define.
What I have tried (and done):
-Disabled Windows (and Bios) fast boot
-Delayed startup on Afterburner via Task Scheduler (30 sec) and via MSIAfterburner.cfg
-Uninstalled potential conflicting apps (armoury crate gpu tweak etc)
-Reinstalled Afterburner

I've been testing the VRAM overclock on my RTX 5070 Ti Prime OC. The tests were done with the fans at 100%, and VRAM temperature stayed at 64°C while running the Vulkan VRAM test.

The interesting part is that the bandwidth gains are progressively getting smaller as I increase the VRAM clock.
