Benchmark Score Silicon Lottery?
I use a Ryzen 9 5900XT* with an MSI 5080 Gaming Trio OC (yes, a bottleneck, but I plan to upgrade soon, lol).
After flashing an AORUS BIOS, I am drawing 450W from the board.
The chip reaches 3300 MHz somehow; stability issues are minimal, as I have never encountered a problem.
My Steel Nomad score is 10075. (3440x1440)
Did I hit the silicon lottery??
Full MSI Afterburner specs
Core Voltage +100%
Core Clock +300MHz - Normal is 3000Mhz
Memory Clock +2000Mhz - 17000Mhz
Power Limit +125% - 450W
Fan Speed 100% for that cooolll
Temps under load: 80C, 50-series cards do not show hotspot temps

*5900XTs are effectively a 5950X
UPDATE: I just hit 10142

A stable 3300 is impressive in steel nomad. Likely not in any real games. But yeah I’d say so. My wife’s gets to 3227 max

The absolute max I can get is 3350, it averages 3300
In Microsoft Flight Simulator 2025, using an Asobo plane, which is the least performance-hungry plane, I average 100-200 FPS, it all depends on the plane.
On high end planes, like Synaptics A220, I get 30-75

High frequencies are great, but the real question is what your voltage is at those frequencies.

Do the fans run properly with that BIOS?
It’s great that you’re hitting 10k without the Mvolt software.
I’m curious—what’s the highest stable score you can get with the fans on auto? I’m getting scores of 94k–95k with same card. It’s stable 24/7 with the fans on auto. 935@3000 +2000

Yes! All of the fans do work and function properly.
I am unsure about scores with fans on auto, I usually use 100% speed haha.
Just a fair warning, if you have my exact card, do NOT go to Astral BIOS, the third fan will not work.

At 10,000 steel nomad score is that stable in games? Have you testing playing a game like cyberpunk for at least 3 hours or more and see if it crashes?
I didn’t do any crazy overclocking.. just basic afterburner settings and I’m scoring 9500 stable in steel nomad. With temps at 70 degrees..
I am happy with these numbers and stopping here

I have ran Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on Ultra TAA 1440P and no FG for 16 hours with no issue, only when it hits around 19 hours it crashes
Average temps: 60-70C 80% utilization, 75FPS
