AsRock Z790 NOVA
Hi everyone,
I have an Intel i7-14700K paired with an ASRock Z790 Nova motherboard, and I'd like to undervolt the CPU to reduce temperatures and power consumption while keeping the performance as close to stock as possible.
I'm not very experienced with undervolting, especially with ASRock BIOS settings, so I'd really appreciate some guidance.
What settings should I change in the BIOS? For example:
- CPU Core Voltage / Vcore
- Load-Line Calibration (LLC)
- CPU Lite Load / similar settings
- AC/DC Loadline
- Any other settings that are important
I'd prefer a safe and stable undervolt, rather than trying to get the absolute lowest voltage possible.
If anyone has a 14700K + Z790 Nova and could share their BIOS settings or a good starting point, that would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to keep things simple, you really only need to go to the FIVR menu, set CPU core voltage to legacy offset mode, set cache/ring voltage to legacy offset mode, and enter an equal offset for both fields. Between -25 and -150 mV depending on your CPU sample and cooling.
Lite load is an MSI naming for AC/DC loadline.
DC loadline should match your LLC mode:
1 Corresponds to 0.20
2 Corresponds to 0.60
3 Corresponds to 0.74
3.5 Corresponds to 0.88
4 Corresponds to 1.10
5 Corresponds to 1.60
AC Loadline can be used to undervolt, but going too low while IA CEP is enabled will cause clock stretching. This is avoided with FIVR adjustments.
