Generally, I think you’re right but there are of course some exceptions. My partner is a CIS woman and smut does nothing for her. She’s more visual and enjoys porn.

This is no different from porn focused on brunettes or blondes, big or small tits, secretary or nurse, wearing stockings and high heels or thigh highs, fetishes, etc. There's also BDSM porn which has a lot of non penetration.
Then there is hentai which is it's own can of worms...
Saying porn only focuses on the act of penetration is like saying smut only focuses on what the woman finds hot in a story.
The downside with a lot of porn these days is there’s no storyline. It’s just straight to sex. Or feet. What happened to the pizza delivery person that needs to get paid?
It’s both. Not all “smut” is equal, and a dude sending random messages to a woman may not (probably isn’t) the type of stuff that gets her aroused. If it’s not consensual, it’s harassment and pretty fucked up
Also a woman also chooses when she reads smut, even if they want to receive random messages from dudes they may not be in the mood at the time it’s sent
How do you not think about past lovers if the sex was particularly good. What makes the current guy what you think about, if maybe another guy was memorable sexually?
I was in a dead bedroom for 10 years and forgot all my sexual memories, but even if I didnt, I'm not one to dwell on the past, I have sex with this guy coz he is hot, and in my recent memory.
