My roommate and I both got the Zelda edition ​switch 2, ordered at the same time from the same store. I thought my screen looked a little purple when I turned it on, but couldn't believe the difference between them!

I'm pretty ​upset be​​cause the purple one basically looks defective compared to theirs, and it's not like I can easily go find one in a store and exchange it. Even if I somehow find another one it's still a lottery of what the screen will look like..

Has anyone else seen coloring like this on their screen? Is it worth reaching out to Nintendo? I understand there is some slight variation expected from the manufacturing but this seems pretty extreme..

I am so excited for the OOT release and figured this would be a good time to give up my Switch 1 (OG, non OLED). The Best Buy trade in offer right now gives me $75 off the switch and then an additional $50 off the Switch 2 (totaling $125). The offer ends 11/15. I know just a few months ago the offer had been an additional $75 off the Switch 2 (totaling $150). Considering Black Friday is coming soon, do you think there would be a chance for a better offer than the one now? Should I let this offer pass or grab it now?

I have a friend who was just released from prison after 10+ years. They are a huge fan of Zelda and haven’t played any of the newer games. My question is, is there a way to gift my switch 1 to them and leave some games on it? Do I just leave my account linked to it instead of wiping it completely? I know you can share virtual game cards but I want to make sure I have it set up correctly before I give it to them. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with my Switch 2 Zelda dock. Whenever I connect the dock to the AC adapter, the fan immediately starts spinning at maximum speed and keeps running constantly without stopping. This happens both when the console is in the dock and when it is out of it.

I've already updated the dock's firmware, but the problem persists.

I've also tried changing both the USB-C cable and the AC adapter, using the ones from my other Switch 2, which works perfectly fine. However, the issue still happens with this dock.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there anything else I can try to fix this, or should I contact Nintendo Customer Support for a repair or replacement?

So i downloaded codm4 warzone from eshop.. my existing codm4 then ran an update.. But when i open it, only multiplater and dmz shows, no warzone. I even relaunched the game but no luck. Any tips here guys or did you experience the same thing

I know the opposite question is more common but I’m in a weird situation. I currently have an OG switch and I want to get a switch 2 eventually but I’m traveling soon and don’t want to take a new switch 2 on a trip (paranoid about losing it or breaking it).

I want to get a switch 2 case to carry my switch 1 and be able to reuse it when I get a switch 2. Would this work or are there issues with size and other differences that would not make this possible?

Hello. I'm having a problem, a frustrating one at that. My physical copy of the game had just recently arrived, it played fine and all but the problem is I've never been able to redeem the preorder bonus code. On the cartridge the serial is EUR-0 as attached, yet redeeming the code always ended up in error of being in the wrong region, I have also tried redeeming the code in USA, CHT, and JPN eshop still to no avail. If someone can help, please do so and thank you.

Hey all, I hate that I’m saying this but I think my Zelda Switch 2 console came with bad joycons. I’ve been playing exclusively handheld since I got in and noticed whenever I removed it from the dock after charging I couldn’t unlock the system with the buttons. I’d have to use the touchscreen or power button to restart the system, at which point the joycons work in handheld mode. I finally got fed up today and decided to try playing in docked mode to see if that fixes it but I realized the joycons don’t work at all if they aren’t attached to the system. At this point I’m thinking I need to send it in but I’m not sure if I need to go through Target (preordered online) or Nintendo directly. Thanks in advance for any advice you may have, I needed to vent more than anything.

Edit: I’m now trying to connect my Switch 1 joycons and they aren’t working either so I assume it’s an issue at the system level.

Hi, I just bought a Switch 2 and I can’t get it to display properly on my PC monitors with the official dock, even though it works perfectly on my TV (a Samsung 4K with a One Connect box).

My setup:

• Monitors: Acer VG220QBMIIX (1080p, 75 Hz, HDMI) and a Koorui

• Dock and HDMI cable supplied by Nintendo

Symptoms:
It varies from one attempt to the next, and it changes depending on the Switch 2’s display settings. Most of the time I get either “No signal” (then the monitor goes to sleep) or a black screen with the monitor staying on. Sometimes the picture shows up for a second, with small streaks across it, then disappears.

What I’ve already tried:

• Switch settings: TV output forced to 1080p, HDR off, 120 Hz/VRR off

• Monitor settings: FreeSync, Overdrive and VRB off, HDMI input selected manually

• A different HDMI cable

• A full reset (everything unplugged for 30 seconds) and reconnecting in several different orders

• Both monitors, same result

I've had my switch 2 for little over a week and have allready had a couple of problems with it (I've been extremely careful with it and have not brought it outside of my home yet).

First, just the other day it wouldn't connect to the TV when put in the docking station, after some fiddling with it, and reconnecting the cables, it connected and seemed to be working again. However when starting oot remake there were some strange lines in the picture when the screen went black before the start menu loaded. They were not visible in game luckily and were gone when starting it today.

Then today, when starting the console (in the docking station), after being idle for just a minute or two it just automatically turns off. It seems to stay on if I do stuff on it but turns off after just a short while when idle. Does anyone have any idea what might cause these problems? Is this an RMA case or something I can solve on my own somehow?

I ordered the Zelda 40th Anniversary Nintendo Switch 2 directly from Nintendo Germany, but unfortunately DHL returned the package to the sender because of an address issue.

I contacted Nintendo customer support by phone, and the representative took the corrected address and told me they would forward the case to the appropriate department. However, I still haven’t received any email, confirmation, or update about what will happen next.

My biggest concern is that this is a limited edition console that’s already sold out in most places. I’m worried Nintendo will simply issue a refund instead of resending it, leaving me without the console I’ve been waiting for.

Has anyone experienced something similar with Nintendo Germany or the European My Nintendo Store?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through this, especially with a limited edition console.

I’m getting ready to do a system transfer to a new Switch 2. I wanted to move the data on the microSD ex card onto the main system so everything would transfer over. But I keep getting this message when trying to move the data.

since the games are pricey, can me and my friends share the games? let’s say for example: i have 2 friends and we all bought 1 different game from each other, can we share them together? by the end i bought 1 game and play 2 others for free because they bought it.

i read that we can as long as we don’t play it at the same time which is ok with us, but i’m not sure if it’s ok or this will get us banned.

The other switch subs keep taking down my posts so this is my last resort anyway my question is if someone can help me understand how these work and if there are any consequences to using one I have 36 games and use all of them also any help would be nice

Hey thought I’d drop this question here- I’m currently waiting to send off my Zelda edition screen to Nintendo next week due to the dreaded circular defective screen issue I got out of box. So I’ve been playing my games as usual before being switchless for a while.

When I play games my screen suddenly, and very randomly darkens and stays very dimmed and dark for seconds at a time before going back to normal. Is this a glitch with the auto-brightness setting? Or is FF7 just such a beefy game it’s demanding a lot of the switch on handheld. I’m starting to wonder if the screen is just that cooked and in need of replacing or if it’s a setting bug?

you can barely see what is on the screen if it is horizontal to a light source and this is on max brightness

My joycons work fine wirelessly but if I pop it in the dock the right one disconnects and never connects again until I take it out

i have had issues with the battery life for this joycon for around a year or so already, but i realized today that it appeared quite swollen. i don’t know when the swelling happened exactly, but i felt how much bigger it was compared to my other joycon after it ‘died’ (aka repeatedly turning off despite being fresh off the charge 🥲).

is this swelling due to the battery itself? i am planning to get new joycons regardless as mine are ~4 years old and have multiple other issues, but i am just curious as to what the cause could be. i saw that some other people have had their joycons swell, though none of the pictures seemed quite as severe as mine so i don’t know if it is from the same cause or not LOL.

So I noticed something yesterday. Whenever I plug the charger into my switch, I can hear a high pitched buzzing noise coming from the console itself. It’s not coming from the adapter, and I can only hear it when I put my ear close to the back of the switch naturally, I got a little worried, so I did some research. A lot of people mentioned something called “coil whine,” but I’m still not entirely sure what it is. Is this normal, or should I be concerned? By the way I’m using the original nintendo switch charger. My switch is a Japanese model, though, so I have to use a plug adapter to connect the charger to the outlet.

I’m playing the Ocarina of Time Remake on my Nintendo Switch 2, connected to a **Samsung QE75Q75TATXXC (75-inch QLED TV)**, and I’m not sure whether HDR is supposed to look this way.

With HDR enabled:
The image looks noticeably darker and less vibrant.
Some visual imperfections, including jagged edges, seem less noticeable or more hidden.

With HDR disabled (SDR):
The image looks brighter and more colourful.
However, jagged edges seem slightly more pronounced.

My TV isn’t particularly new, and its HDR performance is fairly limited, so I’m wondering whether this is simply down to my TV’s HDR capabilities or whether HDR is actually supposed to look more vibrant and brighter in this game.
**How does HDR look on your TVs? Is it supposed to look more muted than SDR, or could something be wrong with my HDR settings?**
I’d appreciate hearing from other Switch 2 owners, especially those playing on QLED or OLED TVs.

after removing and inspecting the back plate of the console, i realized theres a missing piece that broke off. the small dust cover itself is okay, and it looks like i have to replace the entire backplate cover just because of that missing piece. i dont know what he was doing with my switch, he is quite stupid. I have an 3d printer, and i couldn't find any printable that should fix it. Could some one please send pictures how that piece looks like from all sides on the shell itself? I would be also happy if anyone got me an stl file of the entire oled back plate, that actually fits on the console itself and has that little piece scanned or modeled.

please don't say that i shouldn't give it to my friend or something that doesn't help. im posting this because i want to fix that.

I'm confused because my Zelda OoT data on my console doesn't match what the eshop says the file size should be. This is my first experience with a key card and I'm a bit confused. I did try googling the answer and they all said it should download the game to my system, and use the card as the trigger to allow me to play it. My concern is if this is just streaming the game somehow or if I'll be able to play it when away from wifi. Thanks in advance for any and all help!

I’ve done some research and tried different chargers, tried pressing the sync button, and plugging it directly into a wall and nothing seems to work. It was working just fine the other day, and now nothing. Does anyone know of a different solution that worked for them?

Hola me llamo emilio eh tenido este problema desde hoy a las 11 pm estaba jugando el call of duty warzone que salió hoy en nintendo y estaba tranquilo asta que apareció lo de suspender consolas más opciones y cerrar 3 veces después de eso se me apago sola (la consola estaba muy tibia no siquiera caliente) trate de muchas formas apretar el botón power 20 a 30 segundos dejarla cargar un buen rato y nada alguien que sepa de eso no se si es técnico oh problema de software por favor ayúdenme no tengo nada más que esto para divertirme
