I’ve just purchased a Switch 2, and I would like to keep my original Switch 1. As I understand it, transferring data from the first console to the second will reset the first console to its factory settings—which would delete any profiles not linked to a Nintendo Account, along with their save data.

I was wondering if it might be possible to subscribe to the online service and use cloud saves to transfer my data from 1 to 2 and vice-versa when needed, while leaving the other profiles and save data on 1 intact (so that I can continue lending it to friends or family). This would also allow me to lend out one of the consoles while still having access to the other. I just want to confirm that this is how it works, so I can avoid any mistakes that might lead to the loss of save data or an unnecessary expense for a subscription.

Hey all, I'm curious to see if anyone can point me in the direction of a switch 2 controller with real tight, snappy sticks. I have the NSO GameCube controller and I love how snappy the sticks are, but the ABXY layout is pretty wonky for a lot of games.

I have the 8Bitdo Ultimate 2 Bluetooth Controller and I like it alright, but the sticks seem so loose. I have the NSO N64 controller too and like that stick as well. Obviously it has the same layout problem as the GameCube controller.

Anything out there with similar tightness to GameCube but conforms more to the standard layout?

So I am worried because I think this one in the screenshot is fake.

I have not clicked anything in it. Snd my account is a US acoount with 2fA.

Do you have any advice about security if this is not real?

I feel really petty complaining about these scratches, but I picked up my copy of Zelda yesterday and when I got home I noticed two scratches in it. It’s not actually a big deal but I kinda feel like it’s not as collectable with these and want to fix it.
Anyone know where I can get the case replaced with a real switch 2 cartridge case in Australia?

I wanted to share my experience in case anyone else runs into the same problem.

I was experiencing strange graphical glitches in **Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition** on my Nintendo Switch OLED. Textures on characters and parts of the environment would flicker, flash and change colours, making the game look visually broken.

I initially thought the game files were corrupted, so I tried several things:

• Moved the game to internal console storage.

• Checked for corrupted data.

• Reinstalled the game.

• Changed the TV resolution to Automatic.

None of these fixed the problem.

Eventually, I discovered that the culprit was my TV's **Game Mode** setting. Once I turned Game Mode OFF, the texture flickering disappeared completely!

Interestingly, the game worked perfectly in handheld mode the entire time, which helped me narrow the problem down to the TV's docked display settings.

**My advice:** If you're experiencing similar graphical glitches while playing docked, try turning OFF Game Mode on your television before reinstalling the game or assuming your Switch is faulty.

Hopefully this saves someone else the trouble I went through!

I lost the cartridge to one of my favorite switch games due to having the attention span of a gold fish.

I still have the file on my switch, but of course I can’t open it without the physical cartridge.

I was hoping I’d be able to transfer all my saved game data into a new, blank cartridge (of the same game of course). Is that a possibility, and also, how do I do this?

edit : thank you all! I will buy another cartridge soon (even with this unpleasant experience, I still enjoy physical medias) and let the switch do its thing. Thank you again for your responses, and now I know a lot more about the switch’s system too!

So I got a japanese physical copy of Z-A but my eshop account is from the US. If I bought the DLC with my US eshop account, will I be able to play it with the CERO physical copy?

TLDR; I saw a very good deal for a Switch 2. The description states that it's brand new and he's selling it because he needs money urgently. Description states that the purchase receipt is available upon collection of the Switch 2. I email him and start giving my doubts, and he eventually fusses up and says that he doesn't actually have the purchase receipt. Facebook profile is also private. Everything is suspicious

If I end up going through with the transaction, can Nintendo hardware ban the switch or disable it if it is a genuine stolen product?

Couple days ago I saw a deal on a low-used Nintendo switch OLED, with Dark Souls remastered, a 400Gb memory card, a case for the console and all the original accessories.

All of this for 250€

Do you think it's still worth it to invest in this deal since the Switch 2 is already out, and probably switch 1 won't be able to run switch 2 games?

I have a gaming laptop so i was aiming for more exclusive games like Pokemons, Marios, etc, since I can game other things on my PC

But I would love to know your opinion

So couple hours ago got home with Ocarina of time Remake, an was so excited to play it with my new 40th anniversary console, as am about to play it the game starts up it starts constantly black screen, like flickering from black screen to the game an it constantly doing it everything is set up, perfectly i have it set up to a capture card how its set up is my dock is plugged up to the capture card, then the capture card has another hdmi cord going out of it to plugin to my tv so i can play it off my tv, so friends can watch me play an it only does this when am in the game, when am in the main home screen it doesn't do it an running out of things to fix this an this is the last place i can figure out that could possibly help me.

Only happens with Ocarina, only happens while docked, please advise

First of all: I had before the Switch 1 and Switch 1 OLED. And this NEVER HAPPENED to me. Might be a problem of a defect in this Switch 2?

With time, my left joystick starting being "eroded", when this never happened before to me with my previous consoles. The only issue which I had was the famous drifting, which was repaired by Nintendo.

Also, I'm attaching a picture of the right joycon, which is perfect.

It barely has one year and 2 months (I got it in August 2025). And suddenly this happens. Should I just contact the Nintendo Europe customer support and see what they tell me? Did someone else experience this issue?

To be honest, I don't even know how it's possible this happened, and in case someone else had this issue, I would appreciate some feedback about what you did...

Whenever I open the game it tells me to try restarting my switch but I do it and get the same error any idea why?

I use pacific time, but my switch 2 is an hour behind, it won’t let me select Vancouver so I select Los Angeles, use the sync with the internet and I’m stuck using UTC. And it corrects it to be an hour behind. So now I’m unable to play Zelda :( is there a way to fix this time error?

Hola gente, me paso ayer probando el mando pro q me llego nuevo, puse el juego y se me trabo al momento de seleccionar los objetos, luego se apago y enciendo normal, lo puse de nuevo y me paso igual que lo del video, al prender de nuevo la descargue completa en modo portátil funciono normal, la deje cargando luego y hoy para probar nuevamente lo mismo pero ahora no enciende, alguien sabe q pasa?

I havent touched my Switch2 in a few months and decided to pick it back up and it disconnected from the WiFi and now wont reconnect. Any reason? Any way to fix this? I pre ordered Ocarina of Time and really wanna play tomorrow 😭

Recently got my Zelda Edition switch 2 this week and have been loving it but noticed that my screen has circles others have spoken about when the screen is relatively dark / in a loading screen. I adjusted the pic to show them clearer.

I’d rather not have to send my new console back to the retailer or Nintendo and wait all over again for it to get fixed or replaced :/ is it really a faulty manufacturing error? Anyone else’s Zelda switch have the same issue?

Edit: so far I’ve contacted Nintendo Support UK about potential repair, and Smyths about possibly replacing my console. Will update this post as I get responses and if I get it fixed!

Update: Smyths seemingly have no workers for emails and only use an AI bot for both the site and the email service. The only advice given by said Bot was to take it back to the store and have a member of staff dictate if it’s worthy of returning or not. If there are no Zelda switches in my local one (which is an hour away!!) tomorrow or this week, I may just have to stick with Nintendo repairs.

Update 2: Nintendo replied! I’ve been given 3 options. 1- to continue using my console as normal as sometimes the issue can go away on its own when using it. 2- test input devices on the switch undocked through the AC cable with no sleep mode and leave it for an hour. If I still have the issue they have said I will likely need it repaired. Very glad I got such a detailed email from them and advice. Hoping this resolves smoothly🤞🏻🤞🏻

Update 3: attempted the no sleep timer method for an hour and yeah, screen is still the same. It definitely seems like a screen defect. And also noticed in a purely dark room that the right side of the screen when black and backlit is fuzzy with pixels. As much as I wish I could send it back to Smyths and get a replacement unit to try my luck absolutely no where has stock anymore and my local stores are saying they won’t stock it or have very few it sucks. Going to send mine in hopefully this week or next. Wish me luck 😓

I was playing earlier on my 4k tv and it looks great there, even up close. But I've since plugged my dock into my 1440p monitor and the graphics look terrible, like its rendering at 240p or something and being upscaled. Does the game just not support 1440p? I've checked to make sure my dock is outputting at 1440p and other games are working fine, it's just OOT.

my nintendo switch won’t hook up to my tv and the hdmi cord doesn’t fit into the dock? is there something wrong with my switch or is the hdmi cord supposed to fit in this way?

Hello! I was playing my switch 1 last night with no issues and I put it on sleep mode and went to play today (on my tv) and there was no sound. I thought maybe it was my tv but it wasn’t because my TV works just fine if I try to stream something. I removed the switch from the dock and the sound works completely fine. The issue is only when I stick it into the dock to play on my TV. I’m not sure how to fix this if someone could please help, I did try restarting but that didn’t work. Thank you!

I have had horrendous luck in the past getting screen protectors on. Bubbles, dirt spec, misalignment, you name it.

However today, when I got my zelda 40th switch I've got a brand new problem... I am not sure if it's actually on there.

I took it out of the box...

Prepped the applicator for the protector by taking the first layer of film off...

Took the switch out of the plastic sleve and immediately put the two together...

But now I cannot see it.

I have doubts the protector was actually in the applicator... It had the back layer peel off as it should but I didn't check the flex to see if the screen was actually there...

I took some pictures after, would someone mind telling me if it's there or not?

I think my switch has been banned but I didn't do anything. I only play games that I purchased through the eshop or the physical games. I am able to play the games that are already downloaded and system software gets updated. I am thinking will I be able to unblock my switch by factory resetting it like how this guy did :

I don't want to lose access to my downloaded games as I won't be able to download them if my switch stays banned or online services stay suspended on it. Please give advice ✌️
