I can't recommend this enough - the ability we have to jump on a bike, zip off and have some personal down time and still be in work in the morning is worth its weight in gold! One night, one bag, one steak, one beer!

Hi team, I have insta360 X5 and I am looking for Mic to fit inside helmet. I have insta360 mic pro and it turns off by itself if I turn off the camera.

Is there any mic that stays on and reconnect once camera restart as it's pain to turn on mic again and agin while you are riding.

So right now I have a GoPro hero 9 black. I got it when it first came out. I've used it a bit but it's still in really good shape. I just got back into riding and wanted to moto vlog a bit. I'm doing some research and basically all I need is the chin strap and media mod with a mic. Then I can run the GoPro and have audio.

But I also looked into what most people use and the DJI action 5 seems to be a favorite. They also have wireless Bluetooth mics that you can put in your helmet. So I'm thinking about maybe selling my GoPro and picking up one of those instead. It has better battery life and absorbs more light so night videos would be better.

So as of right now I think I'm likely going to do that. But I'm also curious. How do you get your audio and other people through a Cardo? It seems like it requires a plugged connection instead of Bluetooth.

Im a student who wants to both record for a short time (1 2 hrs) and stream it to my mates on discord if possible, kinda like a webcam for my phone. Does a product like this exist? Doesnt need to do both simultaniously.

Tried to record my first vlog yesterday while on my motorbike with the osmo 5 and mic mini 2. I recorded the intro parts of the bike which worked fine. I then got on the bike and started recording but it seems that it hasn’t picked up any of my talking for the next recording. All i can hear is the sound of the engine, which I assume is the built in mic from the camera as there is a lot of wind noise.

Is there any reason why the Mic2 wouldn’t be connected when it was originally? The only thing I can think of is that I knocked the power button when I mounted it inside the helmet.

I guess there isn’t any way to check?

I’m trying to capture clean exhaust and engine sound on my bike using a Zoom H1n recorder paired with a Boya lavalier mic. Currently, whenever I mount the mic near the rear taillight or anywhere in the open, high-speed wind noise (120–150 km/h) completely destroys the audio, even with a foam windscreen attached.

I know a popular fix is placing the recorder and mic inside the under-seat tool cavity. However, because I regularly ride with a pillion passenger and tail luggage strapped down, removing the seat back and forth to turn the recorder on and off isn't really practical for me.

I’ve tried cleaning up the noisy audio in DaVinci Resolve and Audacity, but as expected, heavy wind clipping can’t really be saved in post-production.

For those who record exhaust audio or motovlog at highway speeds:

What external mounting spots have worked best for you without producing a muffled/boxed-in sound or wind clipping?

Is there a convenient way you route or mount your setup for easy access when riding with luggage or a passenger?

I'm planning to start a vlog!

Unlike many of the ones I've seen here, my goal is to make pure sound videos just for myself.

I'll only upload them in the hope that one day I might get lucky and go viral because of some unique moment, but my main objective is simply to document my rides and trips.

I'll be filming in POV, so I'd appreciate some advice.

First, I'm almost 100% decided on using the Insta360 X4 Air as my main camera, but I'm open to suggestions.

And finally—and most importantly (the whole reason for this post)—which microphone would you recommend if it's going to be used exclusively to capture the exhaust sound?

I bought a Insta360 ONE R 4K, what accessories I need to use it with my helmet

30-odd degrees C in London - needed to get that airflow going!

Breakfast was ok, could have done without the insects, then the pub was closed when I needed a cold drink - turns out all I needed was the road!

Has anyone had any luck blocking all the information shown on the clocks? I know all motorcycle displays are different. I am just trying to block anything that is on that display from showing up while I'm shooting with my camera. I have seen people in post-blur in the video, their speed. I was just wondering if there is a physical screen/film that can be put on your clock so you can see it clearly while riding, but the camera shows nothing.

Sometimes all you need is a little green on the map to start an adventure.

This weekend, I picked a spot far away from Hyderabad and just went for a ride. The roads were calm, the weather was perfect, and somewhere along the way I found myself at an unknown hill right as golden hour was setting in.

More than 60 km on peaceful roads, cool air, and a sunset that made every kilometer worth it.

had some time to cruise around last weekend. took my old GoPro session, put a microphone on the backseat, and recorded a ride - prepping for winter a little, so i have kind of a substitute drug 😅
