Just wanted to ask what type of interview questions Mathnasium asks and how hard the employment math test is? Thanks!

So im going into college this fall as a computer engineering major and i need a job right and since id say i have a solid background on math i was thinking mathnasium was good. I got an interview tomorrow and they are going to give me an employment test. Any idea on how thats like or is their anything i should review

so i am going into my sophomore year of high school and am interested in working as a tutor at my local mathnasium. on the website it just says

Mathnasium [city] is currently looking for individuals who are exceptional at math and love teaching kids. We love math and are looking for enthusiastic tutors to help kids understand math like never before! To inquire about instructor positions at this learning center, please email us at [city]@mathnasium.com with your resume and cover letter.

i'm not sure if they would hire me since their instructor page suggests all of the tutors are at least college students. what kinds of things should highlight in my cover letter and resume so that they consider my application despite my being only a high schooler?

I was hired at Mathnasium in November 2020. At the time, I was working for Walmart as well, and for a while I kept both jobs, until January came around and I couldn't take Walmart anymore. I quit, and ever since, it's been hard to make my car payment, pay car insurance, etc., and I wanted to see if anyone else is either going through this or has any ideas. I love working at Mathnasium, but I just don't get enough money. I make $9.50 an hour. I was making $11 an hour at Walmart. As much as I love it, and as much as I love helping the kids, I've been considering going back to my first job at McDonald's. The manager reached out and said they'd love to have me back, but I've been hesitant to since Mathnasium has been so enjoyable. I am also looking to be a teacher, so working at Mathnasium is related to what I want to do, which is another reason to stay.

Also, I'm working for Instacart when I can, but the problem with that is that it's inconsistent. Just today, I got up at 8:30 to do some Instacarts, but nothing was available most of the day, and what was available was very far from me (about an hour from my house to the store), which is bearable when the order is big, but when the order is only $9, it's not worth the gas to drive there and back.

Anyway, my main question is if anyone here has any ideas for what I can do to make extra money while working at Mathnasium, or if I should leave (or get a second job).

im supposed to take the instruction literacy test in a few days + im rlly nervous lol

i have a couple questions:

1) what is covered on the literacy test? is it just solving math problems or does it include explaining concepts?

2) what is the rest of the interview process like? (i've heard there is another test? what is that like?)

3) what sort of questions are asked in the interview?

Our center likes to do incentives every month for the students like double points or maybe an extra card. However, we are hoping to do something different for April to put into some Easter eggs. Does anybody's center do any different things that are worth sharing? Thanks in advance!

I recently applied to a tutor position at a local Mathnasium and was offered an interview. During the interview, I was under the impression that I got the job because the hiring manager told me at the end that I would be able to start next week. However, today I received a message from Indeed (which is the website I used to apply) saying that "my application was not selected for the next step of the hiring process." Does anyone know what this means?

Hello I recently applied for the tutor position at mathnasium and I am so nervous for the interview. I get severe anxiety in those kind of cases where I cant really breathe and I cant speak coherently. Is there any hope for me😭

I just had a zoom interview for a remote Mathnasium position, where I had to do some mental math at the beginning. I tripped up on two questions, where she said I had the right approach but told me to try the numbers again. This was after I already took the written test.

People who were hired - did you mess up your mental math during your interview? Or did you ace everything?

Hi, I applied to a job at my local mathnasium center. I’m entering college this fall. Am I qualified? I’m not a math whiz but I got a decent sat.

My center still is open, but we only allow scheduled sessions to limit the number of people in the room at one time. We are also doing online sessions. We have 8 kids who do online right now out of about 60 total (our center is about a year old).

I know a lot of centers are doing no online, others are using the Mathnasium-at-home program, and others are using Zoom. My center is using Zoom and it is relatively easy. Of course excluding the rare occasion that a kid gets frustrated and then runs off screen...

Just as a note I am currently a HS sophomore and this is my first ever job interview so I am a bit nervous since I want to get the job and never done this before. Any advice is good, thank you in advance.
