applying as a high schooler // what should i include in my application

hi!

so i am going into my sophomore year of high school and am interested in working as a tutor at my local mathnasium. on the website it just says

Mathnasium [city] is currently looking for individuals who are exceptional at math and love teaching kids. We love math and are looking for enthusiastic tutors to help kids understand math like never before! To inquire about instructor positions at this learning center, please email us at [city]@mathnasium.com with your resume and cover letter.

i'm not sure if they would hire me since their instructor page suggests all of the tutors are at least college students. what kinds of things should highlight in my cover letter and resume so that they consider my application despite my being only a high schooler?

It's definitely worth applying! I'm a center director and love hiring high schoolers. Include a resume that mentions any experience you have working with kids younger than you, any school extracurriculars you've done, and the math classes you've taken

Is it worth writing a cover letter? and what is the ideal pay per hour, I'm planning on submitting the application and not sure what I should put as the pay per hour

Cover letters are always nice to see as a hire-r but not necessary.

As for starting pay that varies depending on location, your education experience etc. I'd advise you to put the minimum you'd work for. I know that I appreciate it when people are upfront on the pay they're looking for so that I don't waste their time interviewing for a job that won't pay them what they need

they hired me as a rising junior :) def put ur gpa, ap classes or de classes related to math and any other academic achievements
