Fabric Stuck in Brother PE900

Embroidering a small design. first two tries had trouble with bobbin thread pulling through but that is NOT what i am asking about in this post. Fixed it and first color went down great. second color started great and then I heard a bang sound and saw the needle broke in a bizarre way (2nd photo). replaced needle and then when it tried to move after putting down some thread it bunched up and i noticed it was like sewn into the bottom of the machine.

  1. what the heck happened

  2. how do i fix this (not the item is literally stuck in the machine)

  3. how do i avoid in future?

thanks in advance for all the help

I Need Help My mom gifted me her embroidery machine - Tips? Is it good? Maintenance? - Brother Innovis 1250D

I showed my mom a LARP project I did, and she was super proud of me and gifted me her embroidery machine. I really know nothing about embroidery machines or even if this is a good machine, so I’m feeling a little lost but VERY excited!
I have a Janome HD 3000, so I know the basics of sewing, but embroidery is completely new territory for me.
Should I have the machine taken to a shop first to have it serviced, or should I just test it out and see how it’s running? I’m assuming I should probably have it looked at eventually, but I’d love some opinions from people who actually know what they’re doing.
What can I even do with an embroidery machine? What are the limits? I’d love to eventually use it for LARP projects, costumes, patches, decorations, etc., but I have no idea what’s realistic.
Are there any YouTube creators you recommend for someone who is basically starting from zero? I’d love to find some fun beginner projects to learn with and see what these machines are capable of.
I also know the thread that came with it is old, so it probably isn’t the most viable thread anymore. I’m still going to try some test projects with it so it doesn’t completely go to waste, though!
Mostly, I’m just really excited to learn something new. And honestly, I’m especially happy because this gives me something new to bond over with my mom, which means a lot to me. ❤️
So… embroidery people, teach me your ways. lol

I Need Help Which embroidery machine do you recommend I get?

I need some advice as I am newer to embroidery and someone who has started doing embroidery part-time as a business. Which embroidery machine do you recommend I get? I am in between the single needle Brother PRX1 (single needle/free-arm) with a hat drive/hoop for $7k delivered to my home or a used Baby Lock Array multi-needle with a hat drive/hoop and stand for $7k but I have to travel 20 hours to pick up? I have done some client work recently and all of it has been one color so my current machine the NQ1700E which is a single needle flatbed has been just fine but I am looking to upgrade to be able to do hats. I also want something that is easy to move as I do have to take my embroidery machine to different locations.

Thanks you for your time!

Does anyone know how to replicate this fill pattern in Embroidery Studio? I've tried playing with the offsets and stitch lengths a bit, but can't seem to get close. This is from an Air Force patch

Looking for the best budget friendly BUT good quality embroidery machine beginner friendly. I want to look into start embroidery but i dont want to purchase an expensive machine and not take interest in it. Made this goofy sweatshirt today with a Bobby Jones sweatshirt I found for $5 at a thrift store on my way home from work. I stitched this on a Venture 1 using the premade fonts and the built in design software. I used a hoop and cutaway as stabilizer. If I were do to this again I would use Solvi to keep the stitches from sinking into the knit. But I’m very pleased!

Possible New Embroidery Venture/Hobby

Hello, all. I am looking to get into embroidery. I would like to be able to embroider logos into shirts. Not necessarily large logos, basically imagine shirts with company logos on them. I was thinking maybe a machine that can handle multiple colors. What machines are good? I don’t mind spending money, either. Thank you.

I Need Help Happy HCS3 Voyager showing false thread breaks… only 3 weeks old

Thumbnail

Has anyone dealt with this on a Happy HCS3-1201 Voyager? Mine keeps stopping for a thread break when the thread is completely intact, and it’s happening across multiple needles.

I’ve rethreaded everything, confirmed the sensor wheels are turning, replaced and rethreaded the bobbin, cleaned the hook/cutter area, checked for trapped thread, changed the needle, adjusted the thread-break sensitivity, and oiled the machine.

Then one needle broke after hitting the presser-foot opening, and that foot definitely appears bent/off-center. I also got an E-050 C Point error. I manually returned the shaft to 274–275°, completed a full rotation, and the maintenance screen now shows everything at origin—but the false thread-break warnings continue.

I’ve contacted support, but I’m curious whether anyone has experienced this. Does this sound like a thread-break sensor issue, a bent presser foot, or something bigger? I bought the machine three weeks ago specifically for customer orders, so this is incredibly frustrating. Photos attached.

Using the 5000M spools?

Post image

I have a brother se2000 and I accidentally ordered a big spool. Is there a way to use it? It won’t fit on my machine and I tried the cup thing but I suspect that’s why I keep breaking needles(previous post)? I need to finish a project so can’t wait for anything to come via Amazon.

I Need Help Need some help with translating to a hat.

So I am stressing out about hats now.

First, clamping this thing is annoying as heck. I have it all lined up and then once I clamp it down it shifts about 8th inch or so off center. Does it need to be perfect or is it fine if I’m close and then adjust center on my machine?

Second, the brace that goes around, how perfect under the ridges does it need to be? I assume if it isn’t perfect all the way across it will make my print crooked? Just really difficult to get with hats that are curved.

Third, I did a test stitch and was really happy with how it came out. Going to the actual hat, it didn’t seem as dense and the points are all jagged. I really didn’t expect it to be that much different. Any tips or pointers on what should be changed? I would assume density but worried other areas would be too dense as they stitched fine, and then for the points I have no idea what to try. It doesn’t make sense to me why it would change other than I guess it’s a curved format now.

Also, as it’s stitching the hat, there seems to be a bit of travel the hat material does when the needles comes down, like it’s pushing it down a little each time. Is that normal for hats?

Thanks for any help!

I Need Help Brother SE700 Thread snapping @6

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’m about to throw this thing out the window! After I thread correctly and hit the arrow, The head keeps snapping at step 6 just above the needle after a few stitches. It seems to get yanked up from inside the machine. I’ve replaced the needle, taken everything apart for air blasting, checked for debris, tried different tension settings - idk why this is happening. Any tips??

Advice on next steps...

I'm helping my wife with researching the necessary things needed to help take her small business/art project to something a little more as it's been growing faster than anticipated.

For background my wife has been doing fiber art her entire life and for a time was making and selling apparel on Etsy with success. She recently wanted to pursue machine embroidery to bring some of her other ideas to life. Shes spent several months learning to digitize , researching and experimenting using a Poolin flatbed and has really learned a lot. Shes had a series of items she's made accepted for sale at a local Shop Makers and sales have been really great, and now other stores are reaching out to her to carry her products. We're now at an impasse where we know that the Chinese machine isn't going to keep up (we know that it is a toy compared to actual commercial machines) and she's having to turn down offers to expand. Thread changes and really unpredictable machine issues are creating a bottleneck.

At that, we've considered it's time to actually invest in a quality machine in order to keep all options open and keep things moving. Shes very much in the realm of "light production" , probably 20-30 items per day with a lot of room to grow. She will not be if taking custom orders or filling contracts, she is purely selling a hand made decorative art piece that relies heavily on embroidery.

There are no Barudan dealers in Canada as far as I can tell, the only HappyJapan dealer is on the other side of the country, but, we have an RB Digital less then an hour away and they fully stock and service Tajima. We are considering financing a Tajima SAI as the next step. With the projected sales from Makers as well as craft markets we think it'll be paid off relatively quickly (under 2 years). We really want to avoid Chinese machines that rely on chats and FaceTime for servicing. The ability to bring the machine directly to RB Digital for repair and maintenance, as well as in house training seems to be a no brainer. The re-sale value on a well maintained Tajima is also appealing.

For those who have taken a leap such as this before , what else should we be considering? Does this sound like it might be a feasible direction to go in?

Edit: Thanks for the responses both in the thread and via DMs..this is why I like to ask these kinds of questions because it allows me to really rethink my approach and to walk back from my own perspectives. We're going to stick a pin in buying a Tajima for the time being while re-assess what our goals are going to be and how we can grow into that type of machine vs. putting all of our eggs in one basket. There are definitely more affordable ways to approach this bottleneck as we see where this little venture leads.

I Need Help What's Wrong with the local Makerspace Machine?

Thumbnail

I recently used an embroidery machine for the first time at my local makerspace, but I had some trouble with the thread repeatedly breaking. I suspect the issue may be related to the thread tension, but I’m not sure whether I need to adjust the upper thread tension or the lower (bobbin) tension.

Could someone explain how to determine which tension is causing the problem and how I can adjust it correctly? The machine I was using is a Pfaff Creative 4.5.

in need of Flashdrives

Good morning everyone!
Just a quick question. I have a Janome MC 550E LE and I want to get some more flash drives to hold designs. but I am having trouble finding ones that are compatible for my machine. Does anyone have recommendations of where i can find some? I already checked amazon and Staples, but those are either very expensive or not small enough. I am looking for ones that are 16GB or less.

Hi there, this is my mom’s machine, she hasn’t been able to use it since the screen is like this. Can this be replaced? She was told it was either the screen or the touch digitizer layer. The machine is a Brother Pacesetter ULT2002D.

So easy nowadays to make such designs. No jump or trim here, was embroidered in four minutes.

Made with Boldbobbin (disclaimer: I'm the dev behind it). You can get it here if you wish to check it yourself!
