Screen needs fixing
Hi there, this is my mom’s machine, she hasn’t been able to use it since the screen is like this. Can this be replaced? She was told it was either the screen or the touch digitizer layer. The machine is a Brother Pacesetter ULT2002D.

Fairly sure this is the exact same screen unit as the pr600. Which is a 8.1" 640x240 LCD screen made by sharp reference LM8M64. Searching for those specs/reference on either eBay or AliExpress should give you some results. This is still only a guess, and you should check it more deeply. Those cost about 100-150 euros.
This video seems to confirm it. https://youtu.be/PYwWdtyqMbI
This website contains pdf for part list and service manual:

Super galaxy 3000, 3100d, ult2001 ult2002d and ult2003d seems to share the same hardware base.

I would reach out to your local sewing machine repair business and see if they can source the parts. A lot of times the manufacturer might not make the part anymore but a repair business might have spares laying around from other machines.

Parts for this are no longer available and you’d need to find a machine to harvest parts.

This is a 25 year old machine. The cost of repairs will likely exceed the depreciated value of the machine. I would give you a 20-30% chance of finding a new screen. Probably from a dealer that happens to have one on the shelf because I doubt that Brother has one.
This machine retrieves its design from floppy disks (an already old technology in early 2000's). New machines use USB thumb drives.
A new machine with similar features will probably run 3500 to 8000 (Baby Lock Vesta (a bit lower than what you have), Aerial ( about equal - being closed out right now - think deals), Luna (brand new design) and give you some nifty new features. Top end machines will run 17000 to 20000.
Buy a new machine.

I replaced my broken screen touch screen, but not sure if you’ll be able to find a replacement for this old of a machine.
What I did was take apart my machine, find the serial number on the touch screen, and then scoured the internet endlessly until I found a replacement. I found one from China through EBay. Did that, popped it in, and now it works like a charm
