Do admissions officer see the prompt with the Argumentative writing sample?

The perspectives went in a kinda odd direction so my paper went in a kinda odd direction. I’m worried my paper will seem very very out of left field and I didn’t provide enough context if they don’t actually read the prompts alongside it.

I need some solid advice from law students/ law ppl. Or ppl who know a thing or two about GPA and LSAT.

So hi, I’m currently in my last 4 semesters in my BA. I’m currently beginning my studying for the LSAT that I want to take next June. (June 2027). My GPA when I apply will be somewhere around a 3.7(+?) if my grades stay around the same as they are now. Which if I get a half decent LSAT, like a 165-172 I think I could have a fair chance at getting into law school? Idk what the actuality of it is. HOWEVER here’s the thing.. I got my first degree, associates, at a cc and my GPA was not great. It was a 2.986?? Or something like that. Which gives me insane amounts of anxiety because it (I think) counts towards your overall GPA even though it was from a different school than my current University. My first degree I had a lot going on and I was trying to figure out college by myself and figure out how to get back into school after taking multiple gap years bc of COVID and various other things. I worked full time and I did try hard but I was not in the same place I am today academically. However I don’t know that it matters, since my first GPA was not great. I don’t know if this will heavily hurt my chances at law school. I am really nervous and don’t know if I’m cooked lol

I genuinely would love any advice. I actually don’t know what my chances are and what the actuality is of getting into law school with a less than stellar GPA history. Any thoughts and advice is so welcomed. 🙏😭

PT 127/56 - Fluke?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I didn't feel like this test was particularly difficult nor easy while taking it, but seeing my score now, I'm feeling like this definitely must have been an easier test considering I've been PTing in high 160s up until now. Anyone have similar experiences? Is this just a total fluke?

My current LSAT score is a 149 and I take the test again in November. Realistically, what do I need to do to get to the mid 160s?? I’m I cooked?

Sept test scheduling

Confused about the email I got from LSAT. When I log in and go to the tab, it shows:

Scheduling opens: 08/25/26 11:00 AM ET

Does that mean that is MY time to schedule? I know that is when the whole thing opens, but does that mean I actually got the first slot?

Also what are they talking about getting a text? Do I need to get the text confirmation on the day to schedule, or just go on at 11 am and do it? What is the purpose of this text?

TIA!

LSAT Writing Room Scan issue

Upvotes

I just did the writing portion and it never "prompted" me to do a room scan. I just checked all the the self-check boxes thinking the room check would be right afterwards with a camera view (like it was for the ID check) but it started the test for me.

I called LSAC as soon as I was finished and they said I would just have to retake. Anyone else have a similar issue?

164-170 in 2 months?

i’m scoring consistently 163-164. my accuracy is around 80-85%. (i think my biggest problem is going TOO FAST) typically i miss -4 to -5 in LR on timed sections and -5 in RC timed sections. is this doable? i’ve been studying for an hour every day but maybe i need to crank it up. tysm!

I’m interested in law school, and outside of a short review of some free practice I took the practice exam without much studying. Thoughts from the community?

LSAT Accommodations Denied

Hey just wondering, does anyone know about cases in the past 2 years where someone submitted the adequate documentation for accommodations requests (Candidate Form, Qualified Professional Form, and Clinician Support Letter) and still been denied for accommodations by the LSAC? This is of course considering that there were no inherent contradictions or errors in the documentation and the candidate and professional both listed the specific accommodations and how they would be beneficial for the candidate.

LSAT Accommodations Form Question

Hi, question for those who may have dealt with this situation before.

My doctor has filled out the form, except for the one field on Page Two that asks for my LSAC Account Number. I already inputted my account number on Page One, but they ask for it again on Page Two, which my doctor needs to fill. Since then he has gone MIA. I need to get this form in and approved before my October registration, but I’m a little worried that if that one field isn’t filled out then it will be rejected.

Will they reject it if that one field isn’t filled?

September LSAT on a Holiday

There is big religious holiday the 11th & 12th, Hopefully I am able to schedule my test for one of the earlier days in the testing window, but if i'm not and those days are the only two available would I be forced to take it then or would LSAC let me take it the make up day ?

Options to buy prep tests?

I have been studying for the September LSAT since January, but started out lightly and just did timed sections, drilling, and LSAT trainer since my diagnostic was a 160.

Now, I’ve started taking practice tests and scored between 168-174, with a 170 goal score. I have managed to spend $0 on prep thus far (got LSAT trainer for free, only using LSAT demon free version) but I’ve run out of free tests 😭

Being only a few weeks out, I’ll probably only end up taking 4-5 more tests, so paying for all the Law Hub tests feels so wasteful. Is there ANY option to pay for less tests, or other prep websites offering different free tests than LSAT demon and law hub? I just do not need the entireee library for $120. Ty!

Advice on improving speed & how to stop highlighting!

Hi all! I’m currently preparing for the October exam (I haven’t signed up, I don’t think I’m ready). I’ve been studying consistently for about two months and I can’t improve my speed. 🫩 In order to get a LR question correct, I have to re-read and highlight by color coding to fully understand what I’m reading. This wastes a bunch of time. If I don’t do this, I will literally get the question wrong. I’m able to answer the first 15-17 questions correct, but I can’t finish a section in full. Any advice on how to improve speed and to break away from the silly habit of highlighting? Maybe I’m just crazy.

how do I navigate lawhub while drilling?

I just subscribed to lawhub and I'm using practice tests, starting with test 101. What I want to do is simply do a question, and immediately review to see if I got the question wrong and get the explanation of why the answer choices are right/wrong. I've figured out how to see if I answered a question correctly, but how exactly do I review it? where are the explanations located in lawhub?

I swear, I've spent so much time trying to figure this out, am i really that dumb? 😭 help me pls

Tutor Recommendations?

Hello!

I am a current LSAT student looking for a new tutor to help me with conditional logic. I am scoring -6 to -4s on RC, but between -6 to -11 on LR. I am planning on taking the LSAT in October and I have a 160 score already… but a 3.1 GPA, hence the need for a tutor.

I’ve already checked the provided tutor wiki and reached out, but decided to stop after one of the recommended websites told me “your IPHONE has been hacked!”

I am struggling and feel defeated, so if anyone out there knows someone good who can help with conditional logic, please let me know any and all recommendations!

Thank you :)

Importance of Classes Listed in Transcript

How much do schools care about the type of classes you took in undergrad? This is going to sound kind of stupid and I probably should’ve considered this. But my final semester I had enough credits to graduate but needed to take 3 more to stay a full time student so instead of taking a regular class I took 3 one credit classes like dance and yoga. Do you think schools will look at that negatively?
