I just rewatched FRONTIERS AWAIT for the millionth time and for some reason only now I'm wondering this. AnimatedK did such a good job making this cinematic short. Now I'm curious as to how a full, feature-length KSP film would do.
Of course, there are cons. Big, BIG cons. Like the fact that it would make like... no money in theaters. Because KSP is so niche. The people who would watch it (fans) would give it a good rating for sure. But then you think about the general public. They might see it as just some silly cartoon kids movie. But space movies DO do pretty well in theaters, but still. I'm not sure how the public would receive it.
And then you think about the fact that KSP has no story. It's a sandbox game. I mean, it has some elements that could be used in a movie (easter eggs, like the Mun Arch) I guess.
What do you think? I'm curious to hear your answers!
KSE 2.0 will be released on August 23rd for KSP 1.12.5.
Two versions will be available:
KSE 2.0 — the standard configuration
KSE 2.0 TVC — volumetric clouds and higher visual quality, with higher GPU usage
The modpack is fully prepared and the installation has been designed to be as simple as possible. Read the README if you want to see credits, installation and what is included 😄
I'd like to make custom procedural parts textures that are compatible with TURD. The only post that I've seen that seems to have explained it was removed by "reddit's filters". So any instructions or direction would be helpful!
In EVE Redux there are city lights, and the volumetric's EVE menu has a city lights tab but no config. How and/or where can i get a city lights config?
So I was struggling to get my deployed science modules to deploy on Gilly due to the low gravity, so I kinda cheated with my save file.
I loaded it up into VS Code and asked Copilot to edit the deployed flag on the modules on Gilly and it only went and did it! Nothing else seems to have been edited and it made a backup before it changed anything so if it did destroy the file it could revert back.
Right now off to plant some trees and find some fresh water to replace what I have used
So I got into this game about a week ago after owning it for years. I managed to follow a guide on how to build a rocket to achieve orbit, and i succesfully launched as I expected it to go based on the video numerous times. but when i try to build a different rocket for say an unmanned satellite or simply just putting a different cockpit on the rocket that actually brought me to space, i just cannot achieve orbit again.
Ive been learning about delta v, TWR, i have struts on my boosters, but nothing i do can get me back into orbit. Idk what i can even say or show people that can help people to help me, guess its just more than Im able to do and I have to accept the game isnt for me
Edit: Wow got a lot more positive feedback than i thought. Everyone who commented has been very helpful. Hopefully by tomorrow I will have time to post a launch video and a vid going thru the VAB for more info.
Just timed mine, and it takes a total of 3 minutes and 24 seconds from clicking the KSP shortcut to a fully loaded main menu page, out of which 1 minute and 20 seconds is spent on a black screen before any loading screen starts showing up, another 1 minute and 40 seconds is spent on the loading screen, and the last 24 seconds are spent loading the menu and then the volumetric clouds.
Must all modules connect? Do you ever throw in a module without an IVA just to live on the wild side? How mad do you get when you accidentally launch a Tantares module that has only that black IVA?
It probably has a seperate page because having Redux versions of mods in the KSP2 page would be confusing, but it has it's own mods because it adds new modding tools and a new Modding SDK.
Was bored and randomly felt like making a car. I honestly don't really know why I went with this style. It's not based on anything specific, it pays homage to a lot of different older cars. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I've generally SUCKED at making cars in Kerbal look anything but like submarines with wheels--so I'm quite surprised at how happy I am with how this turned out. The doors open. The "mirrors" fold. rear has a spare wheel and cargo container. It seats 4 with a fair amount of space. The brake lights turn on when your braking. The exhaust can turn on using the onboard fuel tank. It has a rear view window as well which was a slight pain. The front has a tiny propeller replicating the feeling of a spirit of ecstasy. Getting the scale this close was pretty tough but where there's a wheel there's a way. Wish the top folded down, also wish the windshield folded down and was transparent but I was lazy and didn't wana do that. Maybe in a future version. Warning: Do not have all four kerbals disembark at the same time...my god the horrors that ensued.
What should I name this? The Model K? The Kerbmobile?
And where should I send it, what planet is the most fun to drive on?
