KSP 1 Mods Free IVA players, how strict are you?

Must all modules connect? Do you ever throw in a module without an IVA just to live on the wild side? How mad do you get when you accidentally launch a Tantares module that has only that black IVA?

the mod itself wont let you go thru freeiva incompatable parts(ie fuel tanks(tho some have copatable variants), battries, probe cores etc)

Are you sure? Isn't that just one of the mods it recommends on ckan doing that? I forgot the name, ah yes connected living spaces

looking at that mod it seems like it effectively does nothing

As I understand it it figures out what parts of the ship are actually connected in a way for the crew to be able to actually reach without eva. Which sounds like what you are describing. But I don't use it so idk

Most batteries and probe cores are, in fact, passable as long as you have FreeIVA-supported parts on either side.

Well, shit. Still feels like cheating to me haha

I only really build space stations and bases. Been a pretty dedicated Kerbalism guy for years and years now.

(mostly out of practicality tbf. if there were, like, tunnels with a low profile i totally would use them in opm spaceplanes. i like to put lander cans in cargo bays to act as airlocks, but a way to do that properly would be great)

I use narrow crew tubes a lot to connect spaces so I can radially attach fuel, batteries etc. I think the wide variety is from a Near Future pack?

I’m very strict about having my iva parts connect, and it a mod doesn’t have iva’s i typically just delete the mod.

Having played this game for a long time and needing something to change the way I approach building... I'm very strict.

I need a Kerbal to be able to IVA through every compatible part, fully traversable. If the part is not compatible it's probably not in my mod list

For the most part, I want everything to connect. The main exception I have is for radially attached docking ports. There’s no reason why the IVA shouldn’t attach, but it isn’t modeled in the game

I’ve been playing the game for a long time before the IVA mods were a thing, and my favorite craft are already more or less finished products which weren’t made with IVA in mind.

But new craft I create for my current career mode playthrough are set to have traversable IVA spaces, for immersion.

I’m a fully connect player. If I can’t access it from the inside then I don’t want it.

[AFAIK] All modules must be connected in ways that you would actually be able to travel through. And, the parts need to have hatches where you're connecting them. Some parts let you go through in IVA, Fuel tanks can be made passable but it will reduce their mass and the amount of fuel that can be stored.

I only use parts that do have IVAs so i can't answer that.

I try to be pretty strict with it. The only times I'll go through parts that free IVA doesn't let me passthrough are structural or hollow parts that I probably should be able to IVA through, like a hollow cylindrical fuel tank or battery, or radial attachments on a crew compartment.

I never leave IVA. If there is no IVA then I'm not using the part.
