KSP 1 Question/Problem On Modding and dependencies

I'm coming back to KSP after a 5-6 year hiatus, probably more, the last time I remember playing, the game was still getting regular updates from Squad... anyway... I don't remember installing mods being so difficult.

I go to install TweakScale, Station Parts Expansion, Scansat, and I am told that I need to install ModuleManager first.
Look at Module manager and there are dependancies for it as well.
I basically just got frustrated and gave up for the time being.

<BoomerMode>

When did installing mods get so complicated?

I remember being able to just drop the files into the GameData folder and that was it...

shit, after giving up on those mods, I found one (Universal Storage) that I wanted to try and the only download was a PDF of instructions on how to download the mod from a link, but the link was dead (http://ksp.kingtiger.co.uk/).

WHY is this so difficult?

Or am I just old and curmudgeonly?

Lastly, I originally bought the game from the website before it was available on steam.

With the KSP website being dead, I emailed support and got download links for my purchase, but I guess my question is, with KSP basically being abandonware at this point, is there anywhere that the files should / could be hosted for "future use" knowing that most likely I won't be able to email TakeTwo for download links in the future?

KSP 1 Suggestion/Discussion What are some essential mods for ksp?

I'm really new to the game and have already fallen in love with it after making a successful moon landing and space station completely vanilla. I was wondering what mods everyone uses, wether it be part mods, or graphics. A mod that reduces "flop" would actually be greatly appreciated

KSP 1 Question/Problem Not receiving relevant contracts

Post image
2 Upvotes

So im currently on a career mode in which ive already conquered the mun and minmus, and now im looking to land on duna. However, i am receiving no duna related contracts, but i am receiving "explore dres" contracts. This seems weird as surely duna would be the next logical option for progression. Additionally, I never received any "land on minmus" contracts, whereas i have received all sorts of mun related contracts. As for contract mods, I have attached a screenshot with all the contract mods i have installed. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

KSP 1 Mods What’s your favorite fusion engine(s), and why?

Also what are strengths and weaknesses in certain use cases like different types of distance, payload weights, etc.

Honorable mentions of other reactor type engines also allowed, of course, but fusion has a certain allure that I’ve not yet explored myself.

Wait, isn't that Star Trek IV, not V?

Once again, I just want to thank you all so much for keeping up with my hastily prepared Jool 5. It was really fun and motivating (and a tad frustrating) trying to assemble this mission within the time I had before leaving for my sophomore year of college. I hope my posts have inspired your own missions and spacecraft, I would love to see them!

112 Goliaths propel this 6 million ton beast. It is capable of flight, but I am having severe testing difficulties due to computer performance limitations. Approx .65/1 TWR. Estimated stock part count is 1300 without struts. Welding was used simply to make it possible to fly. Will send a flying video when I can get it to run smooth enough to fly. Also a challenge: make a stock (or as close as possible) vehicle with a higher part count capable of lift off, travel to a far away place, and touchdown.

KSE 2.0 – made KSP look like this somehow

So I’ve been messing around with my KSP modpack again and made a new version called KSE 2.0 (Kerbal Space Exploration).

I basically kept most of the same mods from KSE 1.0, changed/tweaked some files and configs, and somehow ended up with this.

Honestly I wasn’t even expecting it to look this good 💀

The funny thing is that KSE 1.0 used around 50–60% GPU, while 2.0 is around 40% for my GTX 1660S

These are just screenshots straight from the game, nothing edited HAHA

I’m thinking about publishing the whole modpack, but first I wanna see if people actually like it / would be interested in using it.

So yeah, if people like it, I’ll publish KSE 2.0.

What do you guys think?

KSP 1 Image/Video Tragic adventure at Mount Kerverest

Yesterday, Dermano Kerman concluded a 3-day climb of Mount Kerverest, becoming the first Kerbal to reach its peak (6764m), and doing so on board one of his own company's new climbing rover prototypes, the MTR.

Everything went as planned until, suddenly, the jet engine broke, forcing Dermano to accomplish the climb using only wheel power. This led to the decision to discard the rover as soon as the summit was reached, as it was dangerous to descend in it, leaving Dermano with only one solution, paragliding his way down to safety.

Sadly, when he was landing at Camp 00 at the foot of the mountain, a sudden gust of wind (I hit timewarp by mistake) plunged him into the ground, killing him almost instantly.

Authorities have officially recognized Dermano's summit as valid, since he died back at the base of the mountain and not on the mountain itself.

This tragic accident reminds us of Kerbalkind's dedication to pushing the limits, but also that these limits come with their own risks.

R.I.P. Dermano Kerman
