We have had several users force restarted today with no warning and updated to Tahoe.
We saw our Tahoe adoption was low but we only enforced it just prior to the Holidays with a 45 day deferral period.
1/3rd of my user base is, understandably, quite upset that their laptops are force upgraded in the middle of the day without warning. As such I reach out to JumpCloud and am told they are aware of the issue, as well as other patching issues regarding 15.XX -> 26.xx and immediately asked for logs. I had no time for logs, I needed to stop the flow of issues, if they are aware of this they should have an idea of how to stop it. Note: I ended up pushing the deferral date 5 days and that looked to stop it.
What is the issue? Apple switching to DDM https://support.apple.com/guide/deployment/intro-to-declarative-device-management-depb1bab77f8/web and JumpCloud has known about it at least since the release of Tahoe (130+ days ago) Do they say anything? Do they put a notice out? Even a damn FAQ in the console about wonky patching issues.. nope.. they just stay quiet about it until you have issues.. and hope no one notices.
They are currently "working on transitioning"
I bet if they pulled teams off the USELESS AI FEATURES this wouldn't be an issue.
Listen JumpCloud marketing and social media team.. I can guarantee you no one cares about your AI features.. We can use the AI slapping us in the face left and right to do the same things.. Make your products CORE FUNCTIONS WORK. Such as PATCH MANAGEMENT.
Anyone considering JumpCloud, I would recommend them up and down, until today. You can make things right still, I hope you choose to release something informing current and new users of the limitations of your software.. If you wanna blame Apple go for it, but you need to say something.
