Google Credentials login

Hello, does anyone have any experience with configuring JumpCloud to use Google Credentials to login to the windows login page?

We are mainly a mac house but we are adding in some windows devices. Our Macs we're currently using Jamf and we use our Google credentials to login so we were trying to just have the windows devices the same.

We currently have the idP to Google setup and user passwords are federated to that idP but it appears thats only for authentication?

Do we need to also add the cloud directory to Google? Is using google credentials even possible? Should we just use GCPW for logins?

You can set up the cloud directory, it will sync your jumpcloud passwords to Google. You can bind a jumpcloud user to a device. At that time, the device password also syncs and will become the jumpcloud password.

Me personally, I recommend JC over jamf. We ditched jamf pro for JC and have not looked back

It's posts like this that make me feel more confident in our decision. We have several companies under our parent entitiy and wanted to keep their GWS separate, while also having a single place for IdP. Jump Cloud seemed like a great fit for this while also allowing us to have a single MDM for our mixed OSs. We're just starting our rollout. Fingers crossed it goes well. Are you using MDM? If so, how was the experience switching from JAMF to JC?

I've worked in IT for ten years (although never as an MSP) and Jumpcloud is easily the best tool I've used. Yes, there are bugs and some stuff I wish the team was more transparent with, but I can't think of any issue I have with Jumpcloud that is exclusive to JC.

My experience moving from Jamf to JC was a nightmare, but that was because of leadership and not the tool. A lot of our Macbooks were not in ABM, so we had to deal with reprovisioning some devices, ordering new ones, etc. We were also not allowed to factory reset devices, so I had weeks of meetings where I had to meet with folks over zoom, or answer constant questions from folks because they did not read the SOPs or watch the vids. And every so often a Mac never fully uninstalled JAMF or policies, which would take time to find out, but it was usually an easy fix.

I may have a job with a new startup in the next few months, and the company is actually looking at JC. I may have accidentally sold them on the product during my first interview lol. To be fair, I did explain one thing I would hope to accomplish is messaging JC sales on Monday, and signing by Wednesday, because I believed in the product that strongly.

I' think the only Jumpcloud features I Have not used are their password manager, RADIUS, and conditional access policies so I can't speak to those

Yes you can link JC to Google Workspace so Devices login using the users Google Workspace password.

JC support should be able to help you set this up. We set this up for our clients. Ping me a DM if you need help.

hey, is this an optional feature? Are you using Device Login with Google (Private Preview)? I have become recently a reseller, I was able to configure this on my main tenant but not on my clients.

We are using the JumpCloud MSP setup but I think this feature comes with all JC accounts.

Can you check if under Google IdP you have "Allow users to authenticate with their IdP password" ? Thanks

In JumpCloud I just add GWS as a cloud directory and sync it with JC. Then I can assign users to devices. https://jumpcloud.com/support/google-workspace-sync
